#Balance System based on OVR matches
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
(COPY PASTED) only way i could think of balancing this, that isn't an instant 3v3 ban, is giving people a score similar to the OVR system and giving them points for it based on finished matches overall.
example; if they stay until the VERY end of a full 3v3 match, win or lose, they still get a point showing that they did not quit mid way, so now they'll be put with people who have similar scores (because those people ALSO haven't left matches)
adding onto this, its specifically for 3v3's
not pub servers that you insta join off the games homepage
This is the thread that was meant to be created
This would be a simple positive/negative rep system, something lewi said wouldnt be added in the thread I had
One of the few simple fixes I said would work 🤷♂️
im not great at photoshop sorry💔💔
but smthn with this type of format
I dont think its worth showing the score, just keeping track of it
keeping track at all works yeah!!
Yup yup
this system already exists as the trust system
im gonna do stuff soon with matchmaking that might improve it
so we'll see
add ranked
b
3v3 mode btw, solo'd the entire game because im not trying to stack penalties, I dont see why this fix cant be added so people who dont play in stacks can enjoy the game
Not to mention the fact they got ult because for a brief time (before they figured out the 100% win strat of 2 guard 1 half court) I was winning
@stark sapphire im unsure if you saw my reply or not but i did already say this system exists
i will just tweak it and see if it improves it
As of now it dosnt seem to be doing anything, because every 3v3 match ive played has been with people leaving, the system is either to sensitive or takes to long to build a profile, or im just that guy and get on when all the new players are on
the biggest thing id start with is adding visual representation for it, simply being able to see how much my score goes up / down would make giving feedback alot easier
that and leaving matches BEFORE they start shouldnt give you a penalty, leaving before it starts isnt the same as leaving after it starts
there's a couple of reasons for not doing that but i understand why you'd want it
ideally we dont want people gaming the trust system
also leaving before and then not giving penalty produces the same result as just abandoning the match like before, most people left before the game started
Make it only visual for the single player then, and add some board that tells you what groups play with who
like most comp shooters they have rankings with the standard of rank 2 fighting mainly rank 2 but when needed for matching 1 or 3
so if my trust was 50 id be placed with 0/100
oh yeah this will be a thing when we have proper ranked
they're called distance checks in our system
the current ones that exist are OVR and trust rating
so i'll tweak the trust rating one and see how it goes
it might be that it's currently widening the check too much
I personally dont think OVR should have much say in matchmaking outside of high ranked situations
that'll be for friday's update, i have other matchmaking tweaks coming then as well
OVR is pretty subjective to how you/other plays
OVR is the substitute for an actual rating system right now
ranked will address this and OVR will not be considered at all
there'll be actual ranking brackets and MMR
thats good, my thoughts for 3v3 is to only let trust have a play, even if I was fighting the best 3 people in the game (im probably lying) id be more happy about losing when its a 3v3 and not a 3v1
yeah we would do that but right now we want to have it also match based on "skill" (OVR) because this is the foundation for the ranked system
I mean that match I just played they all kinda sucked, but 2 guard/1half-court is almost a 100% win strat if played (in a 3v1)
3v3 as it stands is an LTM and will be removed when we release ranked
we may reintroduce it as a casual mode at a later date
but we'll see
I personally think 3v3 is more fun then "standard" the people that stick around generally play better, playing solo is better then playing with 3 new players but that dosnt make either less frustrating
yeah a lot of people go into 3v3s and stick with it which is definitely a difference in comparison to the casual matches
