Any must play Retro Games that anyone here suggests?

In particular looking for anything on GBA, N64, or PSX but really just open to any suggestions!

#

Alright

N64:

Bomberman Hero (3D Platformer)

Space Station Silicon Valley (3D Platformer, also on PS1)

Sin & Punishment (Weird… rail shooter… thing. Japan only, fan translation exists.)

F-Zero X (Racing, fast as a fucking squirrel on crack)

Ogre Battle 64 (literally the one good RPG on the console)

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (Weird 3D Platformer Zelda-Clone thing, extremely Japanese)

PS1:

Megaman Legends 1/Megaman Legends 2 (3D Platformer/Shooter/RPG things)

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (prequel to the above, easily a top 5 game on the console for me)

Nightmare Creatures (Gothic hack & slash. Often jokingly called a prequel to Bloodborne.)

The Legend of Dragoon (Tired for second or third best RPG on the console)

Xenogears X (The game Legend of Dragoon is tied with)

Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman (Hack and slash platformer thing. Extremely Japanese. Very weird.)

GBA/GBC

Wario Land 3 (Insane 2D platformer that was one of the first I know of that went “what if the player character couldn’t die”)

The Legacy of Goku II/Dragon Ball Z: Buu’s Fury (Genuinely. No joke. Some of the best ARPG’s on the console.)

Megaman Battle Network 2 & 3
(Good RPG’s. You can skip the first one, it has a comically eyesore inducing set of backgrounds.)

Justice League Heroes: The Flash (An astoundingly good Beat’Em’Up with a fun assist gimmick.)

Gunstar Super Heroes (Followup to Gunstar Heroes on the Genesis. Extremely good Run & Gun. Has a fun thing where more story happens depending on the difficulty level of the run.)

Shaman King: Master of Spirits (An astonishingly good licensed Metroidvania.)

Metroid Fusion (A very good Metroid game.)

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow (CASTLEVANIA GOES ANIME BAYBEEEEEEEEE and it’s a good metroidvania ig)

I will now shrivel back into my hole, but there you go @azure holly

Everyone talks about how Symphony of the Night is the best Castlevania ever made, but I put it second to Aria of Sorrow, just above Dawn of Sorrow in 3rd place

#

It is telling that Koji Igarashi used the backbone of Aria of Sorrow when creating his Castlevania spiritual successor Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
