also a big difference between how the extra deck works in duel masters and how it works in yugioh is that in duel masters the extra deck is a public zone, so if you're running any extra deck cards your opponent can look at them at any time and will know that you are running a duelist

Both cards still do what they were always intended to, and both cards arent weaker for it (it just means you can self sacrifice in response and waste some of their spell and lets the set 2 counter in green actually do its job vs it)

It also technically got a buff by making it not a dead card when your opponent could have the retreat counter as that no longer works

How to fix draven

1. Change winning combat to mean killing the enemy unit via combat
2. make it only apply on his turn

If you play the SP first contact, then play distant reunion and aa flit the next turn you've told a story to your opponent that will make them cry. The moisture from their tears will seep into their card sleeves and warp the cards making them unplayable. At this time you call the judge over and they will be disqualified making you the winner. This is the way the deck is meant to be played.

Soma and Sergei are useful enough to get at least a cut in the deck, but Graham and his custom Flag are the best cards by far

The whole deck has this high ap low hp trend that means they can make a dent but never last long enough to be consistent

It's kinda lore consistent, because nothing the UN had was able to stand up to Celestial Being before they got GN Drives, but it's painful
