Didn’t know
This is what scryfall has so far
what the heck is the flavor behind vehicles striking and giving you card advantage lol
...plundering a ship?
oh yeah lol
I forgot ships are vehicles too I just pictured someone running over a dude then jacking their wallet
Someone just doing a drive by on an off brand mountain bike
stream time
fml this guy actually looks like a really good grixis vehicle commander
GTA moment
“GTA UB set confirmed” - my friend beside me
Bro can you ju- that’s enou- THATS ENOUGH JUMP CUTS
I don’t know that reference
Nah I’m just getting annoyed at the jump cuts in the video lmao
better screenshot of Edward
Man the showcase style for this set is so bad
Dumb question, is it wrong to talk about deck techs that your friends used to various people?
All the arts are boring and it looks like a short lived assassin's Creed TCG
It’s another mini set isn’t it, Mainly just precons and collectors boosters?
yes
Ah okay
Wait AC is modern legal?
yes
Well then
For some reason
Makes no sense but okay
I think the design process is that all the UB sets that aren't precons are now, for some reason
Idk
I just know the amount of sets is getting to be too much
Well it has been too much
Bruh one of the guys went “you’re talking too much”
they said he is a dad or something
there sure are a lot of 3-color guys wearing almost exactly the same outfits as one another in this set
“Hasn’t dealt damage yet” is that a new condition?
no, iirc one of the elder dragons from dominaria also does that
it's just not something they do very often
Huh they’re all wearing the same thing, I wonder if they’re from the same time and place
that's actually pretty fun flavor for a sneak attack
depends on how secret they wanted to keep it
or order
When are we getting the card assassin’s creed, a 5 mana artifact that tutors assassins each turn for 5 mana
sigh new cards for the morph cube here we go
They played it every game and can also be found on edhrec in 5 minutes
Another Boros legend to add to the dumb "Miraculous" (Kassandra) theme deck I wanna make.
then no lol point out how everyone knows about it
It’s [[Halo Fountain]] in Kykar vehicles
since that's gonna have all legendaries with legendary equipments
I don’t see the need to hide tech cards when they’re that weak
god damn they really be talking huh
Tbf the worst tech card I’ve seen my friend gloat about it HEX… OF ALL THINGS
[[Hex]]

I had to explain that he could not use it on a board with 4 opponent’s creatures and 2 of his without hitting his own creatures
no. is it spicy?
oh nice artwork on the lands
yeah not a fan
I’m pretty sure it’s all just huge beatsticks no one without a lot of removal or fast kills can fight through
Aya (I think thats how its spelled) wont be revealed on this stream, but they said she's in
lydia is an amazing card from a design standpoint
ok buddy
Amazing at being a bulk card
ah yes dimir assassins
Footage from "Pickles" Season 1.
SpongeBob SquarePants is owned by Nickelodeon and Paramount.
all of these reveals been yawn besides the scene made up of the lands
Edward conway is neat
Lydia’s an amazing card from a design standpoint is correct, just look at that art
set is built with clusters of synergy
in casse breaker of chains here synergizing with Edward wasnt making that clear
yep print boros
SERIALISED SOCRATES
trying to think of which sagas red gets you over abzan
there and back and kumano faces kakkazan?
oh wait that 4 mana boros one
white relentless rat
Good set for people who like seeing "human assassin" on every typeline
Wow that guy SUCKS
I do appreciate they used his native American name over "Connor"
Also, he won't show up in gatherer
So you can rules shark lmao
Lord hope he has no niche issues
Honestly I hope he does?
I want them to be forced to get gatherer working properly
+2 Mace was never gonna be viable in an event
Connor might
what the heck is this
the card is the same old "land that can also tap for any color for some reason" but what's the lore behind the actual place
ah yes the serra ascendant equip
Wow Apple of Eden is way too fair
Idk, if you can loop it you can leave your opponent with only the card they draw on their turn
It's like maybe fine, but you very rarely will benefit from it enough
wait, they get the cards back and they draw if you play a card from their hand?
Yep
idk makes sense to me
They replace everything you're playing
reminds me of surgical extraction-like effects
And if you can't use it that turn, they get it back
If it drew them a new hand or didn't replace, I think I'd like it
that's... a lot of ways to make sure who gets hit with this 4 mana artifact doesn't feel too bad to the point that it feels bad for the person playing it
It’s funny as a “I ran out of counter spells gimmie yours”
Oh my God murder is gonna feel DOGSHIT to open in these
They're not draftable, it's Aftermath boosters, and it's fucking murder
Could they not have put it in the commander decks only?
I think in playing your opponent's deck typal it's decent
Because that feels TERRIBLE to open lmao
Like at least with a new uncommon, it's a new uncommon
they're giving this set commander decks?
royal assassin in the year of our lord 2024
no
It's modern pack and commander decks yeah
griswold thats wrong
It’s not getting decks
Oh my God they didn't DOWNSHIFT HIM
Oh is it not?
I thought it was
you don't have to ping me I'm present in chat
its getting a 60 vs 60 starter kit, and packs
Hey, that’s pretty good
That's even wackier then
eagle vision's pretty nice
But yeah, imagine opening Murder and Royal Assassin in a pack
I get that he was rare in DMR for draft sake
But Royal Assassin should have been uncommon considering this set is not draftable
THEY PUT MAGICAL HATS IN THE GAME
starter kit face reminder
I love magical hats
Wow that DaVinci SL is UNREADABLE
eh not really?
idk anything about assassin's creed, why is there a giant in it?
is norse mythology canon to assassin's creed?
They're like alien gods or something stupid
But yes
assassin's creed lore went off the rails at some point
A bunch of mythologies are real now but all their gods are like secret aliens and the weapons and stuff are magical alien tech
They all individually came to earth to shape the planet and got involved in God wars and stuff
to think it started off as just a dude going back in time and killing people
But no one ever left their own region, none of the gods know about each other
There's also like an ancient primordial evil that the weapons can summon
I know there is a nordic assassins creed, so something like that
Basically a couple had a liveable history machine and they needed a guy who had assassin lineage to live through their ancestors to learn how to beat the evil Templar cult
That’s how it started
And like a stranger things upside down-esque mirror reality the templar company wants to open a portal to?
For some reason
In the first couple games, there was a bit of the alien stuff but it was "aliens accidentally left us one magic relic"
But now the plots of all the games are about the alien relics and stuff
And every character has like 5
very pretty
[[Coastal Piracy]]
This has gotta be the silliest art in the set lmao
Like this is just a dude
He's wearing VANS
is this how people felt watching the doctor who reveals as non fans?
yeah but in ac he is also like.. the dude
Literally early 2010s Xbox 360 game covers
Birb
the only historic matters birb I like is [[teshar]]
Multiple cards match “teshar”, can you be more specific?
[[teshar. ancestor's apostle]]
Teshar also revives Senu
I remember wanting to try building Orzhov Teshar
But I couldn't make it work
[[Moira and Teshar]]
Legendary Creature — Phyrexian Spirit Bird
Flying
Whenever you cast a historic spell, return target nonland permanent card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step. If it would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else. (Artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas are historic.)
4/5
Like it's a few cards off being insane
Body generator, love those
holy crap Serra Ascendant lets go lifelink eating
Eivor looks fun
I like how she got an equipment that tutors her
NEW SHIP
Are these cards pioneer legal
Seeing these makes me want to build my own vehicle deck tbh
seeing these cards after mh3 really makes me ask why this wasnt just a secret lair lol
Because it's like 50 cards
Also packs means people will pull for Ezio ig?
The real question is why wasn't this like 3 commander decks
Why was it a set that goes to modern and not just a couple precons
Yes
i just think theres nothing particularly exciting about AC in card form
I know the answer is money
But yeah, there's kinda nothing to write home about here
why is this a set that goes to modern is a very good question
The real answer is in case one ends up being Bowmasters level and a modern staple
Forces modern players to buy it if 1-2 of the cards are accidentally good
I know we've said the "I play the hamburglar to counter your skibidi toilet" thing before but man
Spice8Rack was on point when they talked about the game getting more and more fortniteified every year
This is definitely one of the most egregious of the crossovers too
Regular dude wearing vans looks super out of place
Fortnite was iffy but at least it was sci fi which has been done before
Not Fortnite fallout
AC is also technically sci-fi, but outside of the modern games, you spend most of the time in real world settings
Yeah, Elder Scrolls would have been a much better fit
They have a show to shill

But consider that the fallout TV show and 76 updates were coming out
It's not a secret that all the UB stuff comes out around the same time as new stuff in their franchise for cross promo
Dumb question but do you guys think that grixis vehicle dude will be half decent?
Lord of the Rings came out near the TV show
Fallout near the TV show
AC has the Japanese game coming
Dr Who was a lot of promo for the new season and doctor
Wonder what that means then for final fantasy next year
I'm sure there's others but I can't be assed to figure out what new Jurassic Park thing came out
Probably a lot of content from 7 remake and maybe 14 ig?
Marvel is obviously gonna cross promo with whatever MCU shit is coming out
True
But we never see the cross promo the other way around, which is weird
There's no Jace skin in AC Whatever or Fortnite
See, I'd pay money to play as Ajani in Fortnite tho
I have my goku skin and that’s it lol
I never touched the game and was given that when I played it for like a week with my friends
the best reason for this set
ugh dies to removal

What colors would be best for vehicles you guys think?
depends on what playstyle you wanna go with, afaik shorikai is one of the best?
peak
man this dude actually looks like a fun commander too. his art doesn't seem out of place tho
was this one shared yet
reminds me of that hunting hound in lor @golden plover
Oh true, that one Neeko card that sucks
I've been playing path lately, and I hate to say it, but the game was optimized for path
nah the noxus one that can't block, the 4/1
PvP is DEAD DEAD
Yeah it's a dog. Neeko can summon it and disguise as it
But yeah, turns out letting you out any 6+ cost card in your deck during deckbuilding kinda killed the game
That and making every deck a midrange hell
Fair. I was thinking between doing Jeskai and just using Kykar like my friend did, or waiting until that new Grixis legendary comes out
Shorakai is good for just pure value
True
kykar sounds kinda jank tbh
Doing grixis wouldn’t give me access to Shorikai but it would be different than Jeskai or Shorikai in what you use to an extent
And yea, my friend used token generators/doublers to build a board of tokens and used them to crew vehicles for further value
It’s also why they used halo fountain
it was
^
so about templar knight
this not only makes 1 "any number" card for every color
but
you gave thrumming stone a tutor from a relentless rat card
Yeah but the card is dogshit
11 mana and 5 cards to tutor a legendary artifact is completely nothing
Is there a legendary artifact worth more than 11 mana?
[[Portal to Phyrexia]] is 9, right?
Artifact
When Portal to Phyrexia enters the battlefield, each opponent sacrifices three creatures.
At the beginning of your upkeep, put target creature card from a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. It's a Phyrexian in addition to its other types.
After five thousand years, the nightmare returned.
The only black border one is [[Cauldron of Eternity]]
And it reduces it's cost
I think your best target is probably [[Akroma's Memorial]]
its still pretty shit
Yeah it's underwhelming no matter what
But like, there's at least a reason to play petitioners, rats, or shadowborn apostle
This is cute ig, but I don't wanna be paying 2 each for 5 3/1s that don't do anything until I've got 5 out
I think the only upside is the fact you don’t have to sacrifice them
I’m forgetting which one makes you sack like 7 of them to find any demon
[[Shadowborn Apostle]]
Fair enough
Anything modern playable revealed?
If they had first strike maybe
Probably not
They all seem overcosted
leak ^
yo thats nice
Why do we need another mjolnir? We have toralf
rip Thor's hammer
actually a cool card
There's something funny about the lightning themed weapon having a mechanic that synergises pretty much only with blue and white cards
wait what do you mean boring design, that card's potentially hilarious
play [[sleep]] vs the go-wide deck then nuke the table lmao
it is weird that it synergizes with azorius but hey damage goes with lightning
oh man you ran into the elusive mill hater
It's like 5 color eldrazi?
Nope
Hmmmmmmmmm
if you can shuffle, you can play it
[[barren glory]]
wait not this
[[battle of wits]]
battle of wits isn't in arena
do y'all think I should sell/trade my mh3 cards rn or wait?
I'm seeing ral spike with the recent monored storm deck especially
Ok I won’t lie, this is hot as fuck
Best part of this thing tbh
oh I think this is the deck that makes a big ass dog token or something
They didn't get to do it
I had fun playing it when I had it, but sold it tbh
how do you actually win with that deck, cause I don't think I've ever seen it in a winning position before lol
out value by telegraphing everything youre doing 5 turns ahead and manipulate time counters to blow up in one turn
and stacking up counters on [[Rose Tyler]] to start smacking people around
Legendary Creature — Human
Rose Tyler gets +1/+1 for each time counter on it.
Bad Wolf — Whenever Rose Tyler attacks, put a time counter on it for each suspended card you own and each other permanent you control with a time counter on it.
Doctor's companion (You can have two commanders if the other is the Doctor.)
2/2
the deck was pretty decent at it out the box but giving it a few other options/lowering the curve would make the deck silly imo
Shao jun isn’t… awful
looks nice for any voltron in izzet
Oh I was thinking more of orb stax
oh lmao yeah you definitely could
Happy this is getting constant reprints
True, card was too expensive to be not great
Yeah the card doesn’t really matter in modern
Probably just a cloaked individual
It's probably going on the idea that they could be anyone rather than them being a literal shape changer
Isn’t it pretty good?
Ehh it's fine in like casual commander
But it's 3 mana to do nothing the turn it comes down
And it's either a little ramp or draw
3 mana
Issue is it can just get you killed in casual for such little advantage and in comp it's too slow
Yeah pretty much
If you play it in casual you become the archenemy
If you play it in cedh you wasted a turn and are dead
surely one of the ass creed cards will be good or interesting
surely one of the ass creed cards will be good or interesting
Just the name alone makes it worth it
I can now let my opponents creatures be arrested by the irs
Oh wow it's worse Thalia
For the exact same mana cost as Thalia
Also, seeing revolutionary war soldiers on a magic card feels... Wrong
Just got wait till iron man or ca that wil feel so bad
it would be really funny tho if they just didnt do anything fun for ass creed
spent all the good cards on mh3
Honestly that's kinda what it's looking like
We'll get George Washington in the set probably
It's okay, one of them will break Legacy
But the other 99 in the set will be unplayable
and kinda impossible to do assassins creed without real people, given it's historical fiction.
99 unplayables for even standard would be insane
surely one of the ass creed cards will be good or interesting
Summer is also posting every single boring uncommon revealed
Tbh this is an aftermath booster, there's literally no reason for these boring uncommon slots
true
Other than flavor for commander decks ig?
meh
But they could have just made the whole thing rares and made the flavor cards a little better
First set to sell negative packs
Ehh that was MKM
*Second set this year to sell negative packs
mkm sold bad but bad for a ravnica set is different
probably sold better than some shit set like og ixalan
or even a non-shit but not as iconic set like core sets
I mean the real answer for first set to sell negative packs was Mercadian Masks and Original Kamigawa block
idt we can count those
partly bc these are sets that would have sold a decent amount anyways bc of how old magic was
and another part bc the lack of widespread card discourse and rapid testing thanks to mtgo and mtga means ppl bought to test
Yeah, but they both bombed compared to sets that came out before them
I'd wager Unfinity and MKM are probably the two worst selling recent sets
I’m kinda hyped for bloomburrow now
Can't wait for the furry set to save us
My friend's LGS is giving a discount to anyone who shows up to the pre-release in a fursuit and I'm kinda sad mine won't be ready by then
i have a bad feeling about bloomburrow idk why
Lmao love that
I'm willing to bet the set is very underpowered
But I think it'll probably be cute enough to do alright
Im just excited that otters and squirrels are getting support
Unfinity did a bounce back
Turns out high shock rates in cool AF art sells
Flavor on this is so bland it loops around to being funny
Actually interesting death touch commander?
It's weird they're insisting on calling Connor by his Mohawk name now
Not a bad thing, but they very much did not call him by it at all in 3
Iirc it’s cause permissions for those names are rough
Partially because they cast a Crow Native American to play the character so they pronunciation and stuff was different
I mean, if Ubisoft signed off they'd let him be called Connor, no?
It feels like Ubisoft wanting to retroactively say that they were more concerned with native issues than they were
surely one of the ass creed cards will be good or interesting
Considering one of the first cutscenes in the game has Connor introduce himself by his Mohawk name and a character says "you go by Connor around white people" and he never uses his real name again
I feel like this set is only modern onwards because itd be out of flavour in standard
I mean I’ll take deathtouch tribal commander
[[fynn the fang bearer]]
Legendary Creature — Human Warrior
Deathtouch
Whenever a creature you control with deathtouch deals combat damage to a player, that player gets two poison counters. (A player with ten or more poison counters loses the game.)
"Come, Koma, and reclaim what you lost! Or does the great serpent fear a rematch?"
1/3
Sucks he doesn’t give any card advantage but it’s something
I may have to get ballad of the black flag
Like this feels like a standard-level powered set
One that won’t get me killed on sight I mean
for my bant historics deck
They promised to not put UB sets in standard
And as of right now, they're still holding that promise
standard is fine but only for digital
Low-key it's probably licensing and the "promise" is to help make standard/pioneer players who don't like UB cards feel better
Since if a set goes into standard, it goes into arena
And there's probably extra licensing there
And LOTR
but ig not all contracts are equal
They’re saving all the good or interesting cards for the 2nd most hyped set of the year; furry land
I mean bloomburrow
But certain crossovers like Transformers skipped Arena
Which is weird considering Transformers is Hasbro owned
Bloomborrow is already a slam dunk due to the theme
But there's also no Dr who stuff
transformers stuff is on arena
Like it’s gonna do decent
Not the cards
Theme + art style
yea
I know there's skins and stuff, but you can't play Slicer or whatever
But yeah, it's probably realistically a licensing thing
mhm
They wanna guarantee arena is 1:1 with paper standard, and if they can't get the license for digital AC or whatever, they don't wanna risk it
thats the most likely reason
So ready
And helps build good faith by going "look we promised to never put a UB set in standard"
When does bloomburrow drop anyway
But yeah, I'm so confused why they keep using Ratonthakaé:ton on cards
August
August 2nd, spoilers start July 9th
Wich of these cards plus pain lands would be good in the esper knights precon?
All but the Bident I can make an argument for
Definitely the mana drain, sentinel, and the lands
Yeah true didnt see those
A graveyard is nice
surely one of the ass creed cards will be good or interesting
Wonder if there will be any artifact blinking cards in the set
They got the jumpstart exclusive card designers working on this set
Nah the jumpstart designers at least come up with interesting cards here and there
They got the starter deck card designers doing a whole set
I believe this is the first time we've had an effect like this be repeatable right?
The anti combat trick

Just wait till you see Yasuke
that'd be crazy to not give the newest game cards
Yasuke feels like he will be a SL
Yeah they'd probably be SL stuff
Considering the set was likely finalized a year ago
Speaking of SL stuff, where's the Universes Within versions of the Dr Who SL cards
Oh right, that's maybe her
But yeah, it'll be weird for the 14th and 15th doctors to get in-universe prints but they mentioned all SL exclusive cards are supposed to get them
Naoe hasn't been revealed in the set yet
This is Shao Jun
That's dumb as shit
Kicking someone with a dagger is not better than just slicing their neck
Wow nice finally reprinted. Was gonna get the SLD but wasn’t a fan of the art
How did they make excalibur boring
idk i think the excalibur is kinda cool
Excalibur is painfully basic but still probably being run because you can cheat it into play for a massive stat boost
The sword that can produce a blinding authoritative light, the scabbard that grants invulnerability to battle damage… +10 attack and vigilance
dies to a random squirrel
Wow Excalibur is just a worse Embercleave/[[Blackblade Reforged]]
tax collector looks like it would be really annoying with blink lol
I feel like tax should’ve been “until your next turn, whenever an opponent casts a spell they may pay 1, if they don’t, counter that spell” cause that way cost reduction doesn’t completely ignore it
But that might be a tad too good
I mean, it's theoretically a better version of Thalia's effect
And Thalia sees legacy play
But this guy sure as hell won't
I don't think many cards are comparable to thalia
True
where this guy gets funny imo is if you can somehow get his eff multiple times
extra turn spell with a lot of extra steps
Yeah true
Huh my opponent gave me [[Invasion of Ergamon]] which made my Ajani live?
Battle — Siege
(As a Siege enters, choose an opponent to protect it. You and others can attack it. When it's defeated, exile it, then cast it transformed.)
When Invasion of Ergamon enters the battlefield, create a Treasure token. Then you may discard a card. If you do, draw a card.
Defense: 5
Truga Cliffcharger
Creature — Rhino
Trample
When Truga Cliffcharger enters the battlefield, you may discard a card. If you do, search your library for a land or battle card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle.
Throughout Ergamon's wild Truga Jungle, predator-prey relationships stopped until every last invader was crushed to dust.
3/4
from what people have said, this reference was in the game, so a reference to a reference
I'm debating starting a second account of Arena and seeing how hard the game is without crafting
The answer is incredibly
can we masochist run Arena
Tbh, new player experience is fine if you focus on just standard
When I first started during Covid I got 2 whole decks off just doing tutorial + a week’s worth of daily quests
Current issue is we’re at pre rotation, so almost every deck needs at least 20 rares and mythics
maybe once Standard Rotates ill try it
Let me check real quick, Rakdos anvil is probably budget friendly, but it has some key cards rotating out
Yeah rakdos anvil uses 10 mythics + whatever the amount of rares is for the mana base
It doesn’t use any rares in the main though
I'd argue wildcards aside I wouldn't want to introduce a new player in this standard
this meta is crazy fast and high powered not that that's super unique in the last few standards ig
Some foil pickups for today. Just rounding out MH3 stuff and some stuff for Omo lol @rigid scarab @sleek ferry @atomic harness
Squirrel Swarmyard is adorable btw
jesus that's blingy lol
Welcome to the daily life of Adam
For you, it was a life-altering godlike card. For Adam, it's Thursday
Oh wait omo with maze’s end doesn’t need any gates
But needs a way to flicker omo and get 10 lands into play somehow
if you do a dedicated flicker build that's certainly something
that's pretty crazy tho lol
i meean its simic getting 10 lands isnt too hard
Sure but flickering omo 10 times and then activating omo is pretty hard
idk about focusing it because flicker makes the creature synergy a little iffy since the counters fall off
maybe running thassa/conjurer's closet and maze's end just in the 99?
No need to have a creature synergy but might run something like azami for card draw
Also you don’t need to flicker the board, just omo
if you're only flickering omo you're probably not achieving much
he's only focusing on Maze's End as a wincon but yeah
You’d be flickering only her and putting counters on utility lands which would be gates and all colors as well to go for some combo kill
Overall seems very weak no matter what direction it’s pushed though
I get that but if you're investing that many resources into only flickering her that doesn't sound fantastic is what I'm saying
Omo in general isn’t fantastic
she's not some s-tier commander but she's pretty decent
there are a lot of fun synergies to use
hard disagree but shrug
Idk, I’d say being a synergy piece is good enough to be decent but she’s sort of a very slow arcane adaptation so isn’t great in synergy unless you’re given way too much time
bruh she literally turns on [[urza's tower]] instantly
and also severely speeds up [[cloudpost]] and [[baldur's gate]]
The big problem is that without flickering or additional combats, she can’t add counters to lands to speed those up as fast as people might want
The urza’s lands is probably the best use case though yep
you have multiple ways to search out lands + you're in simic anyways
it's simic fast mana with changeling typal
also fun cards like [[sage of the maze]]
Creature — Elf Wizard
: Add two mana in any combination of colors.
: Until end of turn, target land you control becomes an X/X Citizen creature with haste in addition to its other types, where X is twice the number of Gates you control. Activate only as a sorcery.
Tap an untapped Gate you control: Untap Sage of the Maze.
1/3
Yep, the problem is time though, it’s woefully slow only making 1 thing at a time a changeling
you don't need that many though
you put it on the important stuff for your lords to protect them, and you still get good value off of cards like [[titan of littjara]] cause you declare a type that doesn't have an everything counter on it
Creature — Illusion
As Titan of Littjara enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.
Titan of Littjara is the chosen type in addition to its other types.
Whenever Titan of Littjara enters the battlefield or attacks, you may draw a card for each other creature you control that shares a creature type with it. If you do, discard a card.
6/6
[[spawning kraken]] is another example of becoming a problem really quickly even if you only have a few hits
[[roaming throne]] also works for her and anything else you want it to work for
Yeah, 2-4 hits/turns is a bit much
look dude idk what to tell you lol, I feel like you just wanna play tatyova and call it a day
that's your prerogative
And I’m not talking in terms of cedh either, in casual also 2-4 turns is very slow
2-4 turns after you play her btw
What I’m suggesting is you can maybe make her faster by focusing only on the lands and going hard on flicker but even then she seems meh
what are you even talking about with 2-4 turns, you just do stuff on every turn lol
It takes a long time to get set up, either before or after omo
Either because you’re playing expensive stuff or because the synergies you’re talking about requires those counters
Or you’re already dead
what have you been doing in your omo games, just passing until turn 3?
You’re expecting a lot to go right for you to pop off in a that manner with omo
you're dropping a 1/5 on the board which is a fantastic blocker for the early game
now now guys lets move on and talk about some of the best blink cards I can use for Azlak deck
genuinely idk how you're dying that fast unless you're playing the precon as-is, and we've already established that sucks
wait where does blink overlap with azlask
mostly just wanna trigger all the etbs of the other devoid eldrazi to make more
most of those are on-cast effects no?
yeah etb
so Panharmonicon and Elesh Norn stuff i guess
also blinking them to get more was my plan
well since you're 5c you could just yorion
It’s not always that I die in pre con games in 3 or so turn rotations but omo is very much dead before 3 turn rotations
For etb eldrazi there’s always displacer
ah forgot about him. i was eyeing Brago
I was looking for a flicker card that wouldn’t work but forgor it’s 5C lol
I'm surprised you have people targeting her at all
People view her as good enough for some reason
I haven't even seen people that complain about her consider her kill on sight but idk, usually someone else starts off as the problem
I don’t either but the justification I keep hearing is “what if you play something that has synergy”
Which isn’t really a good argument
Just finished up sleeving my deck
do you just have a bad locals
nice, which deck
I have a decent locals, just have some bad players here and there
But even with some good players they just kill it
might wanna consider more 1 mana flickers then
draw removal and get another everything land, easy money

Zidar jabari so pretty much knight tribal
@twilit canyon we finally got a single good card from the set
Legendary Creature - Human Berserker
Trample
~This~ must attack every combat if able, can't be sacrificed and cannot attack its owner.
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player gains control of ~this~, untap it, and put a +1/+1 counter on it. It gains haste until end of turn.```
He's better Slicer
Notably loses double strike, but gets a lot bigger and comes down earlier
Whoops forgot slicer costs 2R
But I think this might still be better
Trample is nice, should hopefully guarantee some commander damage
Not sure how I feel about it losing double strike though
i feel like slicer is better
Notably this one can't hit you, even if you're down to 1 opponent
I think that's another big upside
oh true, i didn't notice that
It's marginally worse with equipment
But there's times where you don't have trample on slicer so damage isn't getting through
I think he's better because he's guaranteed to get the damage in
He's always at least a 5/5 trample
Also this card was not designed for modern lmao
Literally doesn't do anything in modern
Eh it’s a 5/5 that goes up by 2 each of your turns, it’s inevitability I guess
At worst you could put it in slicer to double up maybe?
The upside of slicer is that it kills fast through commander damage, I don’t think this deck wants slicer
This kills fast through commander damage too
You're passing around a 5/5 invincible trample that gets bigger every turn
Yep, I wouldn’t play both in the same deck though
Definitely not
I think Alexios is gonna replace slicer for cedh tho
The edge cases of always having trample and being unable to attack you in the 1v1 are too good
Also if you squint you can pretend he's from Theros I guess
Surely one of these ass creed cards will be good or interesting
Translation of the 4/4 already posted, this is just the non fancy art
freerunning extra combat
I mean they already revealed the one cedh card
Sets over
Better Slicer exists and now we're not gonna see another good card all set
True. Literally the only good new card is uncommon lmao
Opening up 2 boxes to supply the entire cedh community with their replacement slicers
He's also way easier to pretend he's in universe, just go "oh he's some weird Theros guy"
which one is the better slicer
This one
hmm idk
He comes down a turn later and loses double strike, but trample is big for commander damage and he can't hit you
And he's always growing
that 1 mana difference is pretty relevant tbh
Yeah he’s jeweled lotus drop away
You can also see land + crypt + ritual or similar
Fixed this list up a bit
Anything I'm still immediately missing here?
Also working on this one, but I'm gated by 5 more mythic WCs
Funnily enough, soul sisters has been performing the best for me and I'm still gated by 5 mythics and 1 rare wc there
(Need the rest of the ocelots and Ajanis)
meh kinda just a sidegraded slicer
again back to the whole wonder when they will release an interesting or good card in this set
He might be better in the long run since he can't hit you and always tramples
But he's so far the best card in the set
And he's a random uncommon
Slicer but he never betrays you lol
Pretty much
Ohhh I get this, this is from brotherhood's multiplayer
Oh the full set has been posted now
So yay, nothing good at all
Also surprisingly, no Washington or Karl Marx cards
what? why would there be a karl marx card
there's no way in hell wotc would print something like that
He's a key character in AC Syndicate
It would have been really funny
They also skipped over the Pope
If they were gonna commit to real person UB, I wanted to play the controversial ones...
wait fullset is posted now? Link?
Check the gallery ig
All I know is every card is spoiled
Which means this set is a real stinker lmao
First set to sell an assassin's creedillion packs
lmao
Assassins Doge
The assassin token is so goofy it looks back around to being cool I love it
every post I see someone calling for a nadu ban also has someone in the comments saying "but krark/sakashima takes long non-deterministic turns too". why isn't the opinion to ban both if that's the case
also target nadu with no mana up -> land off the top -> protection spell -> second trigger is still wild to me
Krark/Sakashima has been around longer so it gets a pass/s
But yeah, Nadu getting targeted with no open mana and you storming off because your opponent had the audacity to interact is BONKERS
To be fair is this much different than 0 mana counter your target, flip 3 coins and get it back into hand?
that's cancerous too, let's ban both
My opinion is if Nadu has to go, krark and or sakashima has to go too
Legit I'm down
swat/guardianship is a 0 mana non deterministic infinite protection in krark sakashima
Which is gross af
I'm fine killing Krark/Sakashima
Especially if it takes Nadu with it
I'd also love for this to be what finally gets Thoracle banned
Card has had it coming since release
I would eat a Thoracle if it got the card banned in EDH
I have eaten a jukai naturalist (lost a bet) I would certainly eat a thoracle
I'll eat one if it gets banned ig
on a different note, [[gleaming fleshraker]] is a ridiculous card in both 5c eldrazi decks
I played this in azlask and instantly became the archvillain with how many spawns I was producing and how I was burning the table lol
Literally just a 1 mana refund and a ping on everything you do
Even in the face commander copying him is silly
yeah that's a hilarious interaction, it can really end the game immediately lol
I’m a little confused on how it works actually. You make 2 copies of him and 2 scions to ping for 4 right?
No
You make the scions on cast
Wait no I'm being stupid ignore me
You make a copy of it, then cast a colourless spell and ping for 4
So it should be 2 scions in total then? And every new cast will ping for 2 per copy?
TIL [[cruel celebrant]] triggers on planeswalkers dying. I get why given what set it was introduced in but that never came up for me
We NEED planeswalker sacrifice now

Ya know, maybe One Ring into One Ring to reset your burden counters isn't okay
They should restrict the one ring because stacking them is bullshit and also because flavorfully the card should be one of in your deck
i feel like it would make more sense to just ban it
restricting it makes it way more swingy
Yeah it really should just be banned
But it's funnier to restrict it
It's "The One Ring"
Not "The One of Four Rings"
they used to do that to every legendary card and stopped because it just wasn't a good idea in a game without super common searching
if we're talking about timeless then it doesn't have any bans though
Yeah true
I think a restriction on it would be good in timeless
And everyone mentions a modern ban for it
meh
it doesnt show up that much in timeless
if there's a format where one ring is actually kind of a menace its modern
I think it's kinda a problem design in general, so I'd like to see it leave both
What do you mean your extra turn spell sticks around and draws you like 6 cards?
You lost me as it doesn’t give you an “extra turn” and draws 6 remotely on the same turn
I mean, yeah they're not the same turn
But it's effectively an extra turn
And you usually draw like 3-4 off it before you swap it
I also think we’ve gotten significantly more answers for TOR than we had when it was first released
There's a few yeah, but card does too much tbh
Let’s wait till the pro tour next week to see what pops up in the meta first
I mean they won't do hits until the tour anyways
Yeah I’m saying let’s hold off on ban talks till then. I think we could see an mh3 card get banned sooner rather than later depending on how much it shows up next weekend
I mean a list can hit the ring and Nadu ngl
Idt nadu is going to be a problem in modern at all
What do you think the MH3 problem card is then?
None, but if there was going to be one that raises the most eyebrows it’s going to be raptor
Ral, much more consistent than I expected but loses to the same things storm usually does
Raptor seemed fine, feels bad if you hit raptor with raptor but value is value
i don't think there really are any problem cards in mh3. the only thing that really comes close is nadu and even then i'm really not sure if he's actually going to be a problem or not
I think Phlage won't end up a problem, but he'll be seeing way more play than expected
Raptor seems fine
And I'm not sure how real mono-red storm is yet
I think Nadu is really the biggest design mistake and I think he's gonna need a commander or modern ban thh
Is Nadu even an issue in timeless rn?
Not in timeless no
But he doesn't have access to Shuko or Greaves
The only equip 0 on arena is [[Leather Armor]]
And like... No
I don’t think mono red storm is really real but ral gives it the best chance since it does everything
Other than give flashback I guess lol
But being able to ult immediately with the ability to time when you flip to the back seems good
Yeah, I wanna see how it plays out in the Pro Tour
You might hit a horrible streak and lose but
Because the deck seems funky and I wasn see if it's real or not
I don’t think mono red is the play tbh, probably red green
Not Izzet?
You get access to snappy and stuff like [[Invert Polarity]] in the side
True but the Druid as an alt win con that can be used as a draw 2 along with weather the storm as a 1 of and pick your poison seems good
Nadu feels broken on paper but I think it being non deterministic and needing to run a card with 0 other utility besides enabeling nadu is a big draw back
I’ll make 4c energy for timeless eventually, been stacking up my wildcards
Nadu in cedh has the criticism of it running really bad cards that don’t do anything on their own
Maybe splashing green in UW hammer for nadu is the play
Like Kinnan runs bad cards, but most of them do something on their own
And with 1 shuko
If you got Shuko out and people counter your Nadu, you’re just sitting there with your thing in your hands for lack of a better saying
Got couple packs
nice flares
Lmao what happened boss
T1 land
T2 land sol ring signet goldvein pick
T3 Nadu equip reveal land, play greaves cuz draw for turn, reveal another land
T4 baloths begin warcrimes
That's like $300 of cards damn
This was everything in the deck that was $5 or more
did you get a good deal on Nadu's glove?
$28
It’s $35 on tcg last I checked
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ZS3KGD-jDUy6ecYDKu1HFA What do you guys think of this deck before I start buying the cards. Was told to build a deck without blue. From my testing the deck seemed somewhat slow (probably because of the shit mana base, but that was intentional.)
yeah its 33-35 dollars right now, you got a nice deal
I’ll just be getting rid of it soon
I legit didn’t like playing Nadu
Insert subway meme of “my brother in Christ, you built the deck.”
did it succeed at being annoying to your locals at least lol
i played only one game
one person ran it in the 99 of their deck a previous game, got confused when it was blown up instantly
then their eyes glazed over, so did someone else. another one was excited to see me with rec tower and they had jeskas will in hand. sucks I won
got confused when it was blown up instantly
did they not look at the card lol
also I imagine this deck will be pretty slow the more you focus on saproling synergies. it's probably a fun archetype but a lot of the cards seem underpowered
Yesnt
So pretty much perfect then. I wanted it to be lower power
They “read” the cards
As in asking me what discover means on [[!Hidden Cataract]]
(Yes their copy had reminder text.)
I'm guessing just to hang with regular casual pods? those craterhooves are gonna be gut punches lol
those are the best go-wide wincons tho
I figured the hooves would help the deck close games
Because it’s 4c shit tokens
Lmao
And also I tried avoiding shocks because for some reason my group equates shocks = broken deck

you play in a weird-ass group
ye I follow, just definitely a weird thing to complain about
I'm used to "x card isn't power level 7" but I gotta say lands outside of the reserve list once are new to me
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I was challenged to build it by a friend, so did it
Also my Nadu deck was $100 at most
what the fuck
I have a playset of Ulamogs on Arena from drafting, but have yet to see a Kozilek or Emrakul
good they dont matter
None of the three are really playable tbh
Emrakul I think is the closest to being playable? Ulamog is neat but not doing anything the turn he drops is a bit of a bummer and combo decks will usually have the combo before he drops so the half deck exile doesn’t super matter
And kozilek is kozilek
Emrakul's madness cost makes me think she'd have a home somewhere
No way we’re this bad at evaluating cards
Please save me from mtg twitter
Ajani almost always flips the turn he gets to swing
They kill your cat, ajani flips
you can do stuff with him like
if you play mardu you can play him t2, phlage turn 3, flip sorin and you end up pinging your opp for 6
this list for example
also mono black with [[soul spike]] https://x.com/fireshoes/status/1802173062575517941

I like Sorin, but I'm too Ajani pilled
He's so good here
I need more Ocelot Prides for this
Yes, magic players are bad at evaluating cards, some more than others
But some takes are just
One of the people I play with now and then at my LGS asked me for my Nadu list
I just outright told them no lol

ok guess we found the one list playing new emrakul
new emrakul is a meta call vs boros energy and black/x necro
interesting to not that the black list didnt run the black march huh
i was thinking that card had to be ass and i was right
,

less to cast for each creature card in your graveyard.

. If you control an Urza's Mine and an Urza's Power-Plant, add
. (Whenever equipped creature becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, counter it unless that player pays
