Compiler has always had the issue of being a hassle to stack for some agents, so you rarely got full value

but I'm told that Promeia's Abloom procs count as special casts, so she can maintain high stacks more easily

Weeping is also more awkward when combined with high daze compositions
like those with Nangong

damn my initial OL rolls for neon are good, 3 pieces started with third lines and 2 are ele damage with 1 max ammo

neo-neon is now my first unit with 4x ele and 4x ATK lines

(and 2x max ammo lines)

two of her pieces are missing their second lines so i could optimize further but i won't for a relatively minor gain, at least not yet with only 70 or so rocks to my name

apparently charge speed is very good for neon too but again, CBA to do mega rerolls atm

hanson == mustang as expected, and they didn't address why he puts on a permanent accent either lol. i enjoyed the touch at the end though that he reverted to pure hanson after tt star's concert. mustang going out the way he did felt kinda anticlimactic though, it struck me as kinda silly someone so selfish would just choose to die like that, especially given he spent so much time and money chasing a cure for whatever his illness was. i was expecting some sort of epic hanson/mustang confrontation but hanson said "wouldn't it be the funniest thing if you died and i had to imitate you for the rest of my life" and mustang said "hell yeah that's hilarious let's do it"... like ok you fucking lunatic, i guess that's real entertainment since hanson has to suffer

anis beating yoyo to a pulp was cathartic even if it was obvious yoyo was lying about riss and trying to provoke her. god she fucking deserved that.

also shift up bring riss back, i am not asking. she didn't deserve any of this. they sorta gloss over the apology video thing during the event story which i thought was interesting. i would like to believe avistar is riss, but the timeline doesn't match up since IIRC avistar's story was that she became a nikke after anis's official apology caused more controversy due to conflicting with the AI one she made... but maybe they retcon that? wonder if hard mode will confirm/deny it||

I think it was the right length to let the audience feel how uncomfortable Smile Time is, rather than just knowing how bad it is, without overstaying its welcome and feeling overdone. I think it was more effective than the RRH backstory since it's a lot more grounded in what does happen in idol culture and internet fandom in general. I think it was effective in letting the audience in on how uncomfortable that sort of stuff is. Also, the VAs in that scene did amazing work.||

||The fact that no one who knows anything about past Mustang is fooled by Hanson-Mustang's ridiculous act, but everyone chooses to go along with it because Hanson-Mustang is much less of a hassle actually does weirdly resolve my issue with it. Hanson is committed to being a better Mustang than his dad, in every aspect. I agree that I think the confrontation should have had more screen time, but I don't think it's out of character for past Mustang. All this time, he's been trying to prove that his way of treating people like shit is the way to live, and he can finally see his son going down that path with all the sleazy stuff Hanson did to get back at him. Like past Mustang said, it's not about fear of dying, it's about fear of losing his edge. Hanson becoming Mustang is the ultimate opportunity for Hanson's ideology to fail. Of course, we know that Hanson's vision works out, but in that moment, I do think it's the sort of thing that past Mustang would want.||

and mustang/tetra received absolutely no pushback for this? if it was the least bit disagreeable then elysion/missilis would've had every reason to amplify dissent about it. they tried to set it up with the whole "people are mad about the failure of the surface reclamation war and need to take out their stress on something" but holy fuck, i'm not even sure i can get behind hanson's "there are more good people in the ark than you think" when there was no indication the ark did anything other than eat that shit up. that playing out the way that it did required folks to be so thoroughly awful that it seems, as 40k fans will call it, "grimderp", where things are impossibly bad for no reason other than the story needing to remind you how shit the world is||

every character is at least 200 l/s, with spirika/feinne/kamlanage all being 255

i went to relisten to avistar's story about "her friend" from chapter 39 ||and yeah, it doesn't really match with what we know of riss without bending things to fit

avistar says she was living a boring normal life until by chance she saw tt star performing at a small venue on the street and was enamored by them and anis, and became a superfan who made AI videos of them doing fan interactions to boost their popularity. she continued with this until anis "got caught in a scandal" which she generated an AI apology for that ended up conflicting with the actual apology anis gave later, which made the scandal worse and ensured anis's fall from grace, which caused human-avistar so much guilt that she took her own life and left a note requesting to be made a nikke

the mismatches:

1. obviously riss knew who anis was long before her tt star days, and she even went out of her way to work at some pop star agencies so she could gain the skillset needed to be anis's manager someday. her story implies she didn't know who tt star/anis was before seeing them for the first time
2. avistar's story implies she was helping them as a fan, not a manager. also, no part of the anis star story mentions riss doing anything with AI videos
3. we know now that the scandal avistar is referring to was riss's death, so the timeline doesn't add up for her to have made an AI apology video after her death and then seen the fallout of the conflict between the fake apology and the real one
4. avistar never mentions smile time which seems a notable omission given that was the entire reason riss died

that said, things aren't so far off that they're impossible to contort to fit some alternate version:

1. we know anis never told riss she was working as a pop star, and riss had to find out herself. their "first encounter" doesn't need to be the first time avistar ever saw anis, just the first time she realized they were performing and she wanted to help them
2. riss was no doubt both a fan and a manager, and for the purposes of her story she may have just not mentioned the manager part. she could've been making the AI videos on the side
3. riss did also take her own life and leave a note, but this is the hardest to match up since if her note requested to be made into a nikke then the star anis story never mentions it. riss could've made the AI apology in advance of her taking her own life, but she would have no way to see the fallout afterward which is when avistar said she took her life. maybe this was an embellishment and she only learned of it after becoming a nikke, but idk why she'd lie on that point, or really any of this if she was indeed riss
4. maybe they talk about it at some other time, but it wasn't part of her story despite being a major part of riss's so idk how you omit that

overall fitting the two stories together requires a lot of contouring but it's not impossible. the biggest argument against it is just... why would avistar pussyfoot around the issue? anis/riss were close enough that it seems ridiculous she'd be so vague about it. and similarly, anis seems to realize who avistar was in life, and if she thought she was riss then she'd probably lose her friggin mind about her still being alive. the biggest arguments for it are just that avistar's relationship with tt star and anis specifically is reminiscent of riss, and she's a similar superfan, and avistar even becomes tt star's new manager (basically).||

||I did see a response saying that, even if Avastar is Riss, bringing up the name of Riss and/or Smile Time in that moment, when Anis is already clearly emotionally hurting and not thinking clearly, doesn't make any sense and would just further complicate the matter. ||i sorta buy it from avistar's perspective, but the issue is that by the end of the story, anis and avistar both know who the two people (avistar's "friend" and her pop star idol) are. if anis suspected it was riss that surely would've set off some waterworks||

||i'd summarize it like: everything related to aemeath was great. everything related to hiyuki was good. everything else was sort of just ok. oh, and fuck the fucking grand architect, god fucking dammit.

it seems to me like 3/4 of the chapter was a bit of a scatterbrained infodump with lots of busy work fetch quest-type objectives and dialogue, then two quickfire bosses at the end, one of which (aleph-1) was extremely good and arguably the best story boss moment in the game, and the other (denia) was just sorta... there?

i do like hiyuki but i honestly think this patch was trying to do too much by introducing and resolving her storyline along with aemeath's simultaneously. they didn't have enough time to flesh out her power or past or personal struggles. her potential as a threnodian resonator was dropped as quickly as it was brought up. her role in the finale reminds me a lot of galbrena's in rinascita (if we accept aemeath as the cartethyia equivalent), and yet she felt got a fraction of the fleshing out that galbrena did. she got the short end of the stick (TBD with how denia's story plays out in the second half this patch), though i'll grant that her story is obviously not fully done and wherever they're going with ashinohara will involve her again||

||i'll say that the ending "just according to keikaku" from them didn't bother me as much this time because i think the aleph-1 fight and its conclusion was done well enough and satisfying to a degree that it didn't undermine the victory. plus we got aemeath back, so there was an angle beyond just stopping the threnodian/fractsidus that we unambiguously succeeded in and none of their smug bullshit can take that away from us (right? kuro i swear to god if you touch aemeath i will--)||

||i still want to shove a broadblade so far up the grand architect's ass that it transcends time and space and makes every one of his vessels/clones across solaris vomit up the broadblade simultaneously||

||there's still denia's side of the story to go and apparently her being taken in by the collective is also part of the plan so TBD how the second half plays out, i could return to being angry enough at the fractsidus that it detracts from my enjoyment of other parts of the story||

Lmao I had a whole essay typed up but my internet died, tl;dr ||pacing felt weird, I think they tried to cram too much story into too little time. Right after beating Denia, Hiyuki urging us to go save the Exostrider then stopping us to trauma dump was really weird, among other awkward moments but I think that one was the worst offender for me.||
