i realized my mermaid burst was level 7 instead of 10 fsr, and rerolled some of her lines so she had more ATK, and that got me over the hump
final team. i was trying with mast for a while but she's just too awkward in this fight, you need crown shield to tank some ultra attacks but mast burst lines up with several of them so you need to sit in cover for like 5sec while it spits acid at you which makes you lose damage
helps that crown+privaty is still a goated combo for instant reloads
so now i'm stage 9 on 3/5 anomaly bosses... deliberately saving mirror container for post-anis/neon, but god i am so far away on indivilia lol that's gonna be a massive PITA

i'm trying to remember what pretty star would actually spoil in the main campaign... it's almost entirely a flashback and several of the main characters were basically first-time features
if you hadn't played some past major events (most notably ark guardian) you'd be missing some relevant context but nothing massively crucial that can't be deduced from pretty star's story i feel like?

main story directly leads into the current event, though (hence the devs' recommendation to catch up on that first)

yeah despite the intimidating warning the game gives you, idt pretty star actually contains many spoilers... you'll lack some context here and there for sure but again, i don't think it's anything major... the side story should work pretty well as a standalone flashback basically
if you want more anis content (and i know you do) it's worth your time, on top of just being really good in general
and it's basically a direct lead-in to the flashback parts of the anni event you've already seen (e.g. past mustang, hanson), so there's a whole lot of context you're currently missing by not having seen it

this thing was a lot easier than i expected
granted i didn't even try to min turn it
gimmick is you must use slash and magic attacks, it nullifies everything else
it has 3 parts for its first 2 phases, one part is slash weak (nulls all else), one part is magic weak (nulls all else), the other is neutral to slash and magic
the head is easier to kill than its other parts but if you kill it and not the other parts, the other parts will revive the head after a turn
you must kill all parts to move to the next phase
do that twice and you go to third phase where only one part is targetable and it starts doing some fixed damage and whatnot
it also has a huge resistance stack you need to remove by doing an af and getting at least 800% combo rate in it
and this little fella is the fruit of my labor
anyway this boss was very obviously created to shill flammelapis es
