yeah it was peak and felt like the climax of the game's entire story up to this point

though i know for a fact that because i have no background in the lore prior to gfl2, there were moments that probably flew right over my head or didn't hit as hard as intended

it definitely leaned harder into pre-gfl2 lore than most other events so far

still, not to the extent where i felt i was lost on any of the broad strokes, so they integrated it pretty well

idk how the fuck that took aeri 2 hours to go through

it took me like 6 and that was just parts 1.5 and 2 lol, i played part 1 a while ago

going back and leveling all of my non-60 characters to 60 to get the standard pulls absolutely destroyed my savings

i ran out on my very last skill level for nangong

you can skip scenes you've already watched, but not ones you're seeing the first time

and yes, he's written for another eden

if you played and liked chrono trigger, there are a lot of nods to that game there

aight, imma go over some possible pros and cons and you can make your own decisions

pros

• almost all content except a certain superboss rush can be cleared with only non-gacha characters (and that superboss rush is deep endgame content so nothing you'd need to worry about anytime soon)
• no weapon gacha, all gear is farmed in game
• later story content has difficulty settings, so you can get reasonably caught up to main and side stories even without endgame investment
• jp anniversary is happening soon (like within the next week or so), and even global gets goodies for it
• all non-square enix collabs are permanent content, and even the square enix ones usually last 5 years

cons

• no dialogue skip as explained above; can skip scenes you've already watched but not new ones
• outside of event campaigns, game can be a bit stingy with pull currency
• one of the ways to get pull currency once you've dried the well of story and campaigns is by watching ads (mobile only; steam version doesn't have ads)
• if you like final fantasy 9, that collab is ending in july, so while you have time to run it, it is by far the earliest of the collabs to finish (despite being released the most recently)

ymmv

• game is purely single player; they have done invite code campaigns before but there's no actual in-game friend or support system
• after a big turning point in the story, the game throws A LOT OF SHIT at you; with how open-ended a lot of it is, you may or may not be overwhelmed by decision paralysis

there's likely other stuff i haven't mentioned but i didn't want the list to be super long, just ask if you want any other info
