• i don't really want nangong even though she's probably going to be OP
• i would like to get yidhari for waifu, but i struggle to justify getting her without her sig because base yidhari is probably worse than m0w1 yixuan even for ice weak... but i don't really want to get yidhari's sig
• i don't really want cissia
• i would like to get seed, but i struggle to justify getting her without getting cissia, and because i plan to get orphie for sanby in the future

i feel like the only time i'd ever use yidhari is if there's a DA/shiyu rotation that needs two rupture teams, which is probably only going to get rarer as we move further from the rupture shill reckoning that we got a few months back

of course eventually we will return to rupture shill once we get the next major rupture character(s), but i might just pull them instead (depending on whether i vibe with them)

and my worst nightmare is going to pull for yidhari and then getting taken to double soft pity and blowing my entire savings on a character i didn't even want that badly

if the route divergence between arcana/privaty is early and focuses specifically on the one you choose while avoiding breaking the heart of the other then they should avoid the issue they encountered with dazzling cupid

i would like to believe they learned their lesson from that event but god knows with shift up

like, dating sim gameplay in nikke? obvious path to go down given the audience and the way the game is written, no issue with it in theory and tbh i'm surprised they've attempted it so little

but their first attempt at it just clashed big time with the harem fantasy that they obviously want to inject and it honestly ended kinda sad (realistic, but sad... and i don't think anyone playing nikke is here for realism as it pertains to romance lmao)

and tbh, the fact that they chose two nikkes who are quite possessive of the commander and have open distaste toward the thought of not being exclusive with him does not inspire confidence. idk how you write branching routes with them in a dating sim without hurting the one not chosen

but they framed it as him getting a stellar awakening lmao

and, in a rare occurrence, they announced a nerf

white key dungeon chest that gives skip tickets will be changed to a random amount instead of the 5 it currently gives

(i assume elzion chest will be untouched)

it's not super surprising bc skip tickets are a subscription award, but like

first off, plenty of more modern gachas have skips built in

even fuckin granblue fantasy (which is several years older than ae) has a skip system

(that doesn't cost tickets or some other resource to do)

meanwhile, in fgo

anyway, all of that is to say that i'm not a huge fan of ae's implementation of skips, but the dungeon chest having 5 of them didn't need to be touched

instead, they could just add something else (probably related to starcharts) in subscription awards

aight so note that a lot of my recommendations are based on you not having the character; dupes aside from favorite item dupes should be de-prioritized

elysion: signal is kinda low priority; if you like her as a character and want her to have her, that's fine, but if not, i'd suggest swapping her out for just about any other elysion character

tactical vesti is good in mobbing, maid mast is a good buffer (esp in boss fights and raid content), maid anchor forms a duo with maid mast

miranda is situationally good for certain attackers in bosses, and if you don't have dkw, i'd try for her as a b1

(note that miranda needs favorite item)

you could justifiably remove marciana for any of the above mentioned too (again assuming you're not pulling just to pull a character you like); she's not bad, but with a more developed roster, i at least don't use her much

helm is good, label is situationally good in arena, ninja delta is okay

missilis: tia good, ein good, qeq and liter dupes are okay but you could justifiably swap them out if you're missing anyone important in missilis

flora falls into the signal/marciana conversation earlier: keep if you want her for her character, can replace if you want a stronger gameplay pick

if you care at all about arena, you'll eventually want jackal

idk if drake event is still running but if it's not, then if you care about shotgun team in raids, she's also worth grabbing dupes of for her favorite item

so there are a series of maps where there's a puzzle you have to use split parties to progress through

the issue is that on already opened paths, the game still allows you to use your replenishment and thirst items

i accidentally did this, consuming my remaining replenishment item, and now i can't get past the fire in the first screen

game also let me use my thirst item similarly so i have no thirst or replenishment across any of my 3 teams

and all the ones that i'm able to access on the map have been collected

it seems to be a superboss rush featuring all of mul an-kun, ki-ka, and nab-zu, with divided parties for each of them

the divided parties may or may not require aldo, guildna, and kamlanage for the respective fights (if they do, it's really gonna suck bc kamlanage is stuck on nab-zu, where he sucks, instead of ki-ka, where he's good)

i don't immediately see how non-gacha does this one

new character is good but even she can only go on one team

hearing the parties aren't forced after all, which if true makes this much more manageable for non-gacha

lets you use kamlanage against mul ki-ka instead of nab-zu, for starters

i wonder how new character does against nab-zu

aldo can be made to work against nab-zu as well but he's probably better against an-kun

not being forced into guildna would be a blessing tbh

he's not bad but he's not really built for these fights

ironically, since an-kun is definitely trying to incentivize using guildna

hp stats of an-kun and ki-ka were significantly buffed

an-kun has 171b per bar, ki-ka has 163b per bar (raised from mid-50b each in their regular fights)

nab-zu is unchanged in the buffer shell phases, idk how much it has in the final countdown phase

that is actually very annoying for the an-kun fight specifically

final phase of an-kun has flat damage reduction based on how many hits your skill has, with each hit doing 25% less damage up until subsequent hits do 0

so the first hit is full damage, second hit is 25% reduced, third hit is 50% reduced, etc

so it's a giant hp sponge, where the main way of doing damage quickly is to use a bunch of high hit count skills, but the final phase of the fight actively punishes that
