i genuinely think improving exploration by making movement speed faster and allowing moving multiple squads at once would solve like 90% of what makes this mode unnecessarily tedious
and once the tedium is solved they can experiment with new shit, there's room for interesting gameplay here but it's overshadowed by how long even simple tasks take due to number of clicks or waiting five years for squads to path to locations
some things are genuinely just uninteresting (research and base construction mainly) but a central management UI would go a long way to mitigate that by streamlining it
just make movement not so shit and let us deploy/edit squads in any base instead of just the HQ
