honestly i think my main criticism of both the event and these story chapters ||is that they seemed to want to repeatedly cash in the easy "climax" moment of heroes gathering, like avengers endgame moment shit, without the necessary buildup||
||obviously i enjoy seeing all these characters again, some for the first time in literal years, but it's required a whole lot of "surprise! this character's back!" moments built on them seemingly warping around the world or just being in the right place at the right time as necessary||
||these are the kinds of things that gacha games as a medium can't really build properly, especially one like nikke, because there are so many characters and plotlines to juggle that some simply fall by the wayside until they're needed again||

Looking in the long term, I actually like where I think the story is going.

grabbing something for your archetype of choice is the way to go if youre not loaded with shards and outside of regret and maybe wingbeat theres not really anything universally useful.
for charge you can get both of the "in the name of love and hate" dons, but you can just use regular w don instead
for sinking lament yi sang and kod rodya are quite good but you can just use dieci rodya and spicebush yi sang is basically a sidegrade. solemn lament gregor is cool but often winmore
for bleed hook office hong lu is a 00 and red eyes+penitence ryoshu is probably worse than n corp. (id grab sanguine desire tho, that is quite useful)
for tremor, regret faust is ok still and having a faust in your tremor team is nice, but you dont really need it unless you want to optimize
burn is the only one that id say walpurgis ids are essential for, as dark flame is a fucked up debuff and bot magic bullet outis are locked to it. phillipclair is also in this episode.
