Teams are mostly based on damage types(slash, pierce, blunt), sin affinities(lust, envy, etc) or the most common one: status effects
You can generally not go wrong with a team full of units that all have the same keyword and factions like the heishou or la manchaland usually share atleast one keyword
For some specific scenarios you adjust if you want to be funny (for example, theres a couple min turns that consist of 6 keyword units + 1 british lady) but mostly you want as many bleed, burn, rupture, tremor, charge, poise or sinking units as possible

I feel like the choice to makr isn't so that reruns have synergy with just the other reruns would be "risky"(probably not the best word) move since most people tend to be focus on the new units either way unless said unit is a really strong standout unit

it's just that as the character cast grows, it's going to be impossible to get all of:
- regular reruns so that no one character has an improbably long (or short) rerun time relative to others

- reruns that are strong for the "meta" of their patch
obviously they want to check as many of those boxes simultaneously as possible, but they'll have to make compromises and drop one or more of those criteria as the cast grows bigger
you'd think the second and fourth are the most important to getting people to pull
and with high pull demand comes higher probability people swipe to buy pulls
but idk, there's a balance to be struck because if you release a patch where all 4 banners are closely related and synergistic i feel like you risk frustrating the playerbase with the amount of pulls required

||every single sinner got moments to shine. greg was super relevant, rodya shined once more despite her getting ready to go into a new character arc. sinclair was huge this one. it was basically a new intro to his own development. ryoushu continues to get massive hints about her coming canto too she knows its time. meursault once again, goated line after goated line. heath 🥹 i need him. yi sang and faust both slotted into this super well teaching. faust in particulat was 100% not Faust but our faust and i love how inquisitive she was too. don was fantastic in how she truly impacts everyone. hong lu and daiyou were so good together too and his true feelings coming out slowly in his way, somewhat resembling lord hong lu's voice lines. perfection.||
that said, ||zigong, zilu, the night drifter, xichun, and the failed hierarch candidates were all great too. specifically xichun. i love her new drip at the end and her confrontation with the night drifter, one of the ten blades of the east, and his short but sweet reasoning, once again, reinforcing the themes of this canto super well. she also didnt let go of her emotions the way hong lu had. but she was closing herself off. and they really brought it out of her. way to turn a traditional tsundere role and give it a real story meaning and a true reason for it to be eroded, and yet present and meant to be overcome. night drifter will be partly relevant for sinclair's future hatching/aura moment as well. easily one of the most impactful side characters in a long while. literally finalized the breakthrough for the hierarch and truly unlocked sinclair's sign.||
