finished gfl2 event part 2 story, ||it was all very good, though my best guess for the cliffhanger of part 1 was always that it was some fake shit happening in peri's head so it's a bit of a bummer that S-tier cliffhanger fell flat the way i thought it would||
||this may just be me, but when stories are told in a backwards way like this event (a bunch of shit happens at the start that makes no sense, and gaps are slowly filled in) it always kind of rubs me the wrong way||
||i get that it's a device meant to build mystery and keep the reader engaged by making them ask "wait what the fuck?", but it always has to play with fire by avoiding completely confusing the reader to the point of disinterest||
||there were a few times at the start, especially coming off the cliffhanger of part 1, where i was genuinely so lost i had to stop and reread just to make sure i hadn't missed something... and i hadn't, the story was just deliberately hiding things and expecting me to realize i wasn't expected to know what was going on, which was a bit frustrating||
||but it all lead to a very satisfying conclusion that felt to me like the game devs obviously saying "hey CN launch bros, we heard you hated the initial direction of the story with the commander as an exile, so this event starts the new chapters of the commander reuniting with everyone||
||it's also kind of funny how completely different the story direction was in part 2 vs part 1... p1 was borderline slice of life, feel-good stuff (with a cliffhanger that turned shit from 0 to 100), while p2 was "constant crisis" mode that honestly could've functioned on its own, without p1 at all. way different from the other two-parter events we've had (sojourners and aphelion), where both parts were much more connected, with a consistent overarching plot and tone||

the stun is obviously bad in and of itself, but if it were just that, there would be ways to work around it, tho it'd be annoying
the kicker is removing his stacks
each stack of skill and strength buffs his two 5 star skills and also gives him various stat bonuses
and he starts the battle with 3 each (out of 5) due to his stellar passive
if those downsides were removed during stellar burst, this would be an incredible skill
you wouldn't be able to spam it but that's what unryu is for
but alas
i can't see a serious use case for this skill in its current state, which is sad
funny thing is if senya were a gacha character, the drawbacks wouldn't exist on the skill at all, its current sb effect would be part of its regular effect,a dn its new sb effect would be something like setting fire zone and radical awakening it for 3 turns (with no limit per battle)

howl and a-shuo's rewards are split into two pools, one with the different denny tiers and a very small chance at polys, and the other with only varying poly rewards
you can only roll the second pool (polys) every few days of rolling on that vendor (howl/shuo), from what i'm seeing people found for howl, that is: day 3, 8, 15, 20, and 27. the counter resets at 30 days rolled, so basically the poly rewards are always 5-6 days of rolling apart
if you start scratching a howl card, see it's shit, and back out, it doesn't advance howl's roll counter so the pool from which your rewards are drawn won't change
however, your reward in that pool might if you come back the next day
for reference
the first 3 are part of the same pool (they add up to 100%), the last two are the pool you get on days 3, 8, etc
so if you start scratching a howl card and see a bone, you know the roll is shit and can try your luck at a-shuo. you can then come back the next day and the ticket might be the drumsticks instead, but they won't be dogs/golden poop (the game will never convince me that is ice cream)

i didn't realize they added a 100% rate-up banner, last time i played they only had the standard 50/50 hoyoslop (with the same rates and currency -> pull conversion too)

the rate on the 100% banner is much lower for individual pulls (i think 0.1% vs 0.6%), but ofc you're guaranteed to get the character and pity is at 100 pulls (with hoyo soft pity starting before at ~85 i think as well) so it's a much more predictable 80-90 pulls to get characters
