the general gist of the review is that the SBS+alice comp is more versatile (good vs wind+fire), but asuka+rei is poised to take the crown for best wind-weak DPS duo
asuka herself already comes close to out DPSing SBS with alice buff, and with rei she projects to go well beyond that, especially against wind weak bosses
the only notable weaknesses of asuka+rei compared to SBS+alice are that it's not as good against fire weak, and it lacks burst gen... which are relevant weaknesses but probably outweighed by how much better the duo is in their wind weak niche (and burst gen can be made up for elsewhere)
what's wild to me is that asuka is apparently quite good off burst as well, even better than modernia who has been a go-to off-burst boss DPS for quite a while
should note that all the projections for asuka+rei damage are obviously theoretical since rei is literally not out yet to test with

you will get more use out of her in campaign since imo rrh is best as your campaign b1 over liter, but naga is still the best pair to crown unless you get treasure helm
also a very minor optimization since naga's buffs and heal are based on her stats, so if her stats are higher then her support capabilities improve ever so slightly. more than liter's do with dupes at any rate

my advice was gonna be to just get closer to blue and then kill the core with red hood burst but that's not an option
maybe alice or rapi hav eenough damage at that point tho, so idk
barring that, you need to learn mechanics
thing shoots a bunch of annoying shit for the first part of the rotation, spawns mobs and shortly after gives them hit count hp, it has this charge you have to block, it'll later spawn big-ass raptures you can't kill and will hit you hard, and then it loops back
killing ports shaves off chunks of its hp so you can do that to help
killing the core removes its mob hp gimmick and makes the fight overall a lot easier, but you probably arne't doing that in deficit
on the upside, you have crown, so you can at least invalidate the rapture nuke toward the end of the rotation
distributed damage also deals with the hit count mobs so you can run dorothy or sbs or whatever

I think what's frustrating me the most is I don't know where all the damage I'm taking is coming from

you're at like 19k under recommended, you aren't killing th ecore
i didn't do whale with rapi dps so idk if she's able to kill core or not, but once you get closer to blue you can test with her since you're missing red hood

Star Rail has been very enjoyable so far. But it is a bit weird. Gameplay is fine if a bit simple. Story so far has been fine if a bit simple. If this is the whole game, it's not too bad but they really have walls of text for lore geez
I'd half expect a lot of this to be relevant to the current quests but no a lot of them are like "Help the old farts in the space station" or "a ghost girl is lost in the hell zone"
This isn't bad I guess since it means anyone can easily follow along to the story
Also the soundtrack is quite good

so when you run dungeons, each one has a 10% chance to give you a white key, which lets you access the phantom crystal dimension
which you can think of as a hidden reward dungeon with no enemies and the chance to advance in it for chests of increasing usefulness
they drop things like character promotion scripts, experience scrolls, and money
the last stage in that is elzion, pictured above
elzion gives you 3 chant scripts (the rarest promotion scripts), a bunch of exp scrolls, and a bunch of money, but most importantly, has a spoony bard that gives your choice of a character's specific class tome/treatise/codex/opus
anyway my current target is necoco es so i've gotten 2 of her codices so far
if i can just get one to drop, it'll be enough since i can buy the other two from the shop
