seems like rei is hardlocked to be used with asuka

and not necessarily vice versa, though rei helps asuka a lot

realistically shift-up definitely wants them to be used together

rei's skill 1 does a gorillion damage when paired with asuka though jesus christ

also just noticed both of them are wind attackers, bless up

water is in need of better DPS options more probably, but wind isn't doing too hot either

S:BS and mana are the only real options, + summer sakura but she's limited and only really good against bosses with parts to kill

all caught up to nikke story now

chapter 36 end boss took years off my life, as is tradition

i swear they do absolutely no QA for some fights at even reasonable combat power deficits

i blitzed through all of chapters 35+36 at deficit with no issues but then suddenly the c36 boss hits and it was quite literally impossible at the same deficit i'd done the entire rest of the chapter at

i ended up having to burn a huge portion of my saved core dust, credit, and battle data boxes to go from 298 -> 321 synchro level to lower the deficit enough to beat the damn thing

on the bright side, those were some good story chapters. the humor was spot on and made me laugh out loud on several occasions

and the actual lore keeps building, story is going to some interesting places

c36 spoilers ||also, both anis's personal struggles and the search for little mermaid/siren get a lot of shine in these chapters, but the siren story progressed a lot farther than the anis story which makes me think that siren is more likely for 2.5 anni. but obviously they can do whatever they want, especially since the event story can be used to supplement as necessary||

but helm's actual look in-game is much improved

higher res, and the part that tons of people were complaining about about the translucent onesie she's in not showing enough underneath (because of course that was the complaint) is definitely resolved lol

shift up has had problems with "accidentally" releasing low res assets before, so i was hopeful they'd resolve helm's issues that seems related to the skin's actual visual quality being low

but that was a hella fast turnaround, shift up W

still somewhat unsure about the burst animation--i mean, it's a great lobby burst, but when i compare the visual fidelity between naga's and helm's it just seems like helm's is much less crisp

i'd post it here to give a better idea of what i'm talking about but... yeah, i'm pretty sure it'd be too much even when spoilered lol

vivian and hugo only have rudimentary animations

but we know they have trick weapons with hugo's suitcase scythe gun

i've actually picked lip gloss every time except for one bp (where i picked up the defense one for seth)

i think i have 4 of them now lol, i specifically wasn't enhancing them for a while because i wanted to have some dupes

the new event gives us further context but it's the fight between raiden ei and mikoshi chiyo, one of her best friends.
after the cataclysm, chiyo fought a nightmare of inazuma, a creature in our mythology we know as a nue, and while she killed it, she never recovered from the nightmares/abyssal corruption, and went on a killing spree across inazuma until ei put her down. severing her arm and one of her horns while at the same time cleaving a mountain in half (the mountain the sakura shrine is at is split cus of this fight) as chiyo then survived and ran away into the forest to die from her wounds

new event tells us a lot more on what happened exactly though

S agents other than miyabi (who's just broken OP) seem to be built around the idea of performing very well in the hands of an average player, while lots of A agents can also perform at that level but need a lot more put into them to reach that ceiling

high floor/high ceiling vs low floor/high ceiling is a reasonable trade-off for S vs A rank agents

i still consciously arrange my parties to have the character with my favorite entrance animation first, but 95% of the time now it's pointless because we don't get those animations anymore

holy fuck whoever decided the wind weak boss for union raid this time should have a massive charge time debuff that is up for like 50% of the fight needs to be shot

devs may as well be screaming "USE THE NEW EVA UNITS" except for the part where only one of them is fucking out for this union raid

not to mention that very few people can just snap and have them upgraded + geared enough to be worth using immediately

so instead i get to use my normal SBS/alice team and their DPS is like a third of what it should be because their charge times are like 1000000% longer for half of the fight

i also didn't realize the charge debuff would happen so i went in with d:kw as my b1 cdr unit

so her CDR was completely shot for half the fight too

since she needs full charge shots to trigger it

i feel ||the whole unable to say we are aliens to amphoreus as a whole is a part that suffers from them not being able to fit too big a plotline in a single patch without it dragging on too long. like i get it, but i would have wanted that to be a sidequest not part of the main quest, or them dragging it out more to give us much more of a reason like being able to see the titan responsible for shooting us down and such but thats outside of the scope of this part of the story which as a result, suffers from that.||

The dupe 3 is to enable her to do boss stages, while in normal stages, a dupe 0 Klukai already wipes the floor.

Whereas Dupe 6 allows her to be a super juiced up bossing unit, not required by any means,

they might make it easier and be highly desireable, but these games tend to be good about giving players multiple ways to clear content
