rerolling for optimal stat lines on said gear is what will eat up most of your rocks

the only way i can see her making a significant difference is if her burst lets you speedrun past the missiles/turrets phase of the fight, and i don't think she'll do that much damage for you yet

since her big dick damage won't kill the missile launchers or turrets, you'll still need to deal with them and they're what will one shot you

The wizardry gacha game has been very interesting cause it's hard
But it's not hard in the sense of other gachas where your progression is hard gated by gacha and time mechanics

Cause you earn exp by normal jrpg means of actually fighting enemies and not some special exp item (they have those too but they seem more so for if you want to get a new character up to speed rather than the main way of getting levels)

It feels like the least gacha game gacha game I have ever played and I'm here for it

The Wizardry gacha game has managed to replicate that feeling I had with the labyrinth games where I walk into a room
And noped out through the exact same doorway after nearly dying to mobs I really should not be fighting

The 1981 american-made dungeon crawler rpg which was a major pioneer for rpg and jrpgs alike (ie. SMT dungeons and etrian odyssey as a whole were directly inspired by it)
Recently got a gacha game in Wizardry Variants: Daphne (apparently after the old studio went defunct a Japanese company managed to get the rights and now there's a gacha)

Something interesting about the wizardry gacha is that
There are only 2 time gated mechanics

1. If you die you have 3 chances to revive yourself to the previous tile you were on, where you can rechallenge the enemy or run away like a little sissy baby if you either choose to not revive or if you run out of them you will be reset to the last major story moment/when you first entered the dungeon, these chances are replenished over time

Not a major deal but if you did a lot since then you might not want to have to redo all that lol

2. The second is that all characters have a fortitude meter
   If it goes below 50 it starts negatively effecting the stats of that party member, however you can push on ahead if you are willing to risk it and it won't kill you (directly)
   There are a few ways fortitude can be decreased, the biggest of which is the character getting downed, however if you're careful and don't let that happen your fortitude will probably last over 50 more than whatever amount of time you have allocated to play the game
   Fortitude will heal over time even if you are playing and since it's on individual units it's also possible to rotate characters if you so choose (or just push forward while a character is despairing about the fact that they want their misery to end and they shouldn't be revived anymore despite us continually doing so)

aside from lala so far it's been momo and yami

yami was practically guaranteed, and i figured momo would be pretty likely considering how much narrative weight she has in darkness

but remains to be seen who else they'll add

(inb4 the silhouettes are bait, like a certain fgo summer image showing s passionlip)

apparently the va's for yami and haruna are co-hosting, which probably also guarantees haruna

the real question is, who gets to be a collab purple (where most recent collab purples actually end up pretty decent) and who gets to be a collab gold (who are pretty hit or miss in comparison)

i forget when lost relics get introduced, but eventually the campaign maps will have little shinies you can pick up as you move around the map. the selection circle around your squad will start blinking yellow when you're near one

but that's really it. the tutorial is very on rails, you don't need to worry about missing anything since you can come back to the stages later anyway

e.g. if it says 0 / 2, there are 2 lost relics on the map and you haven't found any

again though, you can come back to these stages at any time, so if you miss some on a first pass you don't lose them permanently or anything

normal is the actual story path used for progression and everything important

hard is a separate "replay" track where things are... well, harder. its only purpose is for extra resources

i wouldn't worry about hard yet

emma isn't particularly good but whether to reset is entirely up to you

technically it's best to reset now during anni since you can redeem a bunch of codes for like 30 free pulls and blow them all immediately to see if you get off to a good start

but it's also incovenient, takes about 15-20 mins per reset when optimized

nikke's gacha rates are generous and pity offers a choice of guaranteed good characters after 100 pulls (and every 100 thereafter)

you can get by just fine without min-maxing your early pulls via resets

so "do i reset" is just based on whether you want to bother spending the time and frustration to do so

i don't think anyone who recently started in this chat (which is like 4 different people) did any resetting and their accounts are all in a perfectly fine state already

the amount of effort that gacha devs put into minigames will always be fascinating to me

i know it's for a change of pace because generally gacha gameplay is purposefully repetitive and predictable

but some of these minigames are legit "game within a game" territory and it's pretty wild

in the mirror being directly tied to the story in a creative way (i.e., ||you're actually playing as anachiro and basically reliving cinderella's painful journey through corruption||) is a massive point in its favor relative to all the other nikke minigames though

but from my endgame perspective, it takes me about 5-10 mins to just do dailies

events will make that longer if you care to read their stories

some events are basically fluff that you can skim or skip (though i'd recommend reading anyway since there have been some real hidden gem events that were meant to be fluff)

the active anni event though is heavily story- and character-focused and i'd recommend listening (it's fully voice acted)

you need at least one of each burst type to correctly full burst

and it so happens that every burst 3 nikke has a 40 sec cooldown, so you actually need 2 of them to properly full burst every time you can (approx. every 15 sec)

so general rule is to have at least one burst 1, at least one burst 2, and at least two burst 3s

the last slot can be a flex utility, like a healer or a buffer

with that structure in mind, the next obvious question is "ok but which nikkes do i actually use for each of those slots"

with your limited roster it's gonna just be basically the best ones you have, and will prolly change a lot as you pull more

based on the ones you posted earlier

• rapunzel pure grace (burst 1, she was the free unit you got early on)

• flex pick, can be basically anyone but would prolly do anis for burst generation here

but for auto battle, when you have multiple nikkes of the same burst type, it uses them in order from left -> right

so basically nikkes farther to the left have higher burst priority for auto battle

rocket launcher and sniper rifle nikkes can charge their shots to do extra damge, and if they're the focused nikke they also get a bonus to their burst generation

so if you're lazy you can put a high burst gen nikke (like anis) in the middle assuming it doesn't mess up your auto burst order, and reap the burst gen benefits of focusing her without having to manually switch after the battle starts

it's a very minor optimization that prolly won't matter for you in most cases, but it's another way the order can matter

and it's mostly just an "i'm feeling lazy" kinda thing lol

2. if you can see the costume gacha option on the lobby screen, you can get 4 free rolls on each of the costumes. you won't be able to get the skins without paying probably $50 but you will get other free goodies from the 4 free rolls, including a chance at some more recruit vouchers, so why not

elysion - d: killer wife, phantom, privaty: unkind maid
missilis - liter, tia, naga, ein, maxwell
tetra - blanc, noir, rouge, volume

liter & naga aren't mandatory wishlists anymore because you can get them guaranteed from the 100 pull pity, so they can be switched out as necessary to target dupes

and of course in games like these, waifu > meta is always a valid approach so feel free to wishlist girls you just like the looks of too

so it's worth adjusting it as you pull more to target dupes or fill our holes in your roster (like if you need a healer, marciana is great)

and again, getting dupes now is really just planning ahead for an eventual wall in leveling. once you get five nikkes to three stars (max limit break), dupes basically stop mattering except for very slight stat increases and cosmetic reasons

broadly speaking, distribute roughly evenly between 5 nikkes (and only those 5), if you have synchro machine

credits, battle data, and core dust aren't resources you bank, they're spent essentially as available to upgrade nikkes or on other things (gear, tactical academy, whatever)

but as argor said, you should level your nikkes approximately evenly

don't have cindy at like level 100 with everyone else at 40 or something

TL;DR makes it so you only have to level 5 nikkes, and everyone else can be synched to the lowest level of those 5

but take the 5 highest level nikkes, and of those 5, the lowest level of that bunch, will be the level the device sets your others you set into it

which is why you only need to invest in 5

i forget exactly when you unlock it but it's not long after getting the outpost so you should be somewhat close

you'll inevitably need to reset some levels once you get your mlb's set up, but that's wayyyy down the road

the point is, you want to do that as little as possible since tho it's cheap, no need to use more gems than you have to

so you only do 5, instead of falling for the trap of leveling a ton of different ones at once
