to elaborate, grave is a support with bonkers buffs to pierce, and three of the strongest DPS nikkes in the game (red hood, alice, and asuka vs fire-weak enemies) have permanent pierce

man D:KW + grave + alice + red hood teams are gonna hit different
the bottom portion of this skill is unbelievably cracked
pierce damage up works like attack damage up, both are basically just "damage done +%" (with pierce buff just being for nikkes with pierce)
so this burst says "any nikke with pierce in your party does nearly double damage"
it's frankly absurd
and that's not even to speak of grave's own buffs to herself, she's probably going to be doing huge DPS on her own despite "just" being a support
for my money she probably has the highest damage buffs in the game and they apply to both herself and her party which is just absurd

none of that is to say cinderella is weak, she's not. she's just a pure DPS unit whereas grave can scale with the rest of her squad, so grave is higher value

one caveat to the above is that typically the slot you use for squad healing/shielding is your burst 2 (blanc, naga, marciana, crown)
grave is burst 2 with no (squad) healing, just all gas no brakes
so for fights where you need healing she may be more awkward to use, or may require your 5th squad member to be an off-burst healer like old!rapunzel

you're in a situation where you have 4 units in your burst ladder (with cinderella/scarlet trading off b3 every other time)
so your 5th unit just needs to be there for some utility
that can be an off-burst DPS, can be a healer (not necessary w/ marciana), a buffer, a shielder, or in anis's case, a burst battery
lots of options in theory but given your limited roster it's kind of whatever
once you get the free privaty i'd use her, she's a great off-burst buffer option

in nikke? yeah high deficit clears are how some people flex and it relies on perfectly optimal squad comps and some cheesing of mechanics to always make sure you have burst ready when going into the final wave of a mob fight
i wouldn't expect to get to even 30% without a perfect campaign comp and a lot of sweating to restart and plan your exact moves
the deficit penalties ramp up really fast, even at 10% deficit you're looking at 35% less stats (ATK, DEF, HP) for your squad and suffering 35% more damage
40% deficit is something like a 70% stat/damage suffered penalty
everything one-shots you at high deficits like that so you live and die on always having burst ready to clear the correct raptures

Mylnar is a silverash sidegrade, mountain is an excellent and cheap lanerholder, ntrk is a good helidrop/bosskiller, ebenholzer is oppenheimer against bosses, pozëmka has extremely high dps and through gimmick can shoot from two places at once, kaltsit is a defender that has giant bursts of true damage disguised as a medic, gladiia and weedy are the best puller and pusher respectively.
Most of them are a big plus for your roster, but id probably focus on thorns/mudrock/mountain for easy stage clearing and then mylnar/pozëmka/ebenholz for bosses
None of these operators are bad to raise obvs, but some are more niche so i would focus on stuff that helps you get through stages before going for the funky ones

and then go through a number of floors (usually 5) where you go through nodes one after the other
these nodes are either combat encouters, stores, or some sort of event
during the journey you can recruit new operators from your own roster(and sometimes you can also choose to get a perfect copy of a randomly chose operator instead) orupgrade the operators you already have to elite 2 and collect relics to strengthen yourslef until you get to the final boss of the run
when a run is over you get points for a reward track and then that repeats ad infinitum
theres also special challenges where you start with a preset squad
and each of the is variation have their own littel gimmicks
for example, in the seaborn one you hev to keep your ligh on or go insane
overall tho, is required you to have a developed roster to make any real progress(unless youre doctor silvergun ig)
and theres no timegated rewards you miss out on, so id not concern myself much with it for now

separate from that, you can replace a blue doll with a purple doll any time you want, and the upgrade XP you spent on the blue doll will carry over to the purple
upgrading dolls costs maintenance materials which come in 3 types corresponding to their rarity and effectiveness: blue, purple, gold (surprise)
dolls have 15 levels, and each maintenance material has an associated "super success" chance that will get you to levels 5, 10, or 15 instantly (depending on what level you currently are, e.g. 4 will go to 5, 5 will go to 10, 11 will go to 15, etc)
upgrade materials are harder to come by than dolls, so optimizing how you use them is more useful in the long term
easiest way to explain how to do that is
start with a blue doll, use only blue maintenance mats to get it to level 15
then replace it with a purple doll. the carry over XP will get you to level 5 on the purple doll
use purple mats from 5->10, and gold mats at 10+

there's a challenge (i think for getting your first nikke to 140) that gives a selector box that's redeemable for a dupe of any nikke (might have to be non-pilgrim but i don't honestly remember)
but i mean, statistically speaking when you have a small roster it's gonna be more likely that you get new nikkes over dupes

damn, i'm just now noticing some of the details on the old tales event roaming map
like how there's an area ||littered with corpses, but if you wait for a bit you can see them flicker between rapture and human corpses, implying that while cinderella was corrupted she largely thought she was killing raptures||
||and that's definitely true of the "in the mirror" minigame--the messages on the loading screen are all the queen's whispers corrupting her, and the enemies you fight aren't actually raptures, that's just what cindy sees them as||
