worked out some thoughts on which characters i think they'll add for the tlr collab
lala is obvious, don't have to justify that one
for the others
the collab is specifically with tlr darkness
so yami feels pretty likely
since she's kind of one of the main characters for a huge portion of it
now for the unlikelies...
riko is cute and based but i really don't think they're gonna play around with genderbends in azur lane
the other unlikelies are side characters and don't tend to get a lot of focus from what i remember of the series, even if some of them do get some minor character arcs (tearju, risa, run, oshizu esp)
as for the questionables, i think all of them have a decent shot of getting in, but there aren't exactly infinite slots for new characters
nemesis and mea (bea? i don't fuckin remember, it's one of the two) were both introduced in darkness and are actually very important characters
if it were only one of the two, i'd say it should be nemesis
the other five are all, to varying degrees, rito's love interests and/or love-interested in him
haruna is the first girl he actually likes, although the plot does its damndest to keep things vague and force a haruna/lala triangle even during a basic confession
but...she's also a non-combatant
to what extent that'll matter, idfk
the combatants in those first three levels are lala, yami, momo, nana, nemesis, and bea
incidentally, they're also all aliens
haruna, mikan, and yui are all non-combatants
(and also human)
if i wanted to focus strictly on combatants i could pull from my unlikelies as well, but i don't think that'll end up mattering
and i could also see them asspulling the riggings from lala's inventions in the first place, so
anyway, iirc, mafia kajita was acting like a fucking degenerate at the possibility of mikan being involved
and as one of yami's closest friends, mikan probably has a better shot on that alone
assuming there'll be either 6 or 7 slots
i'd tentatively say mikan is the third most likely one, after lala and yami

from there, momo drives a lot of the plot of darkness with her shenanigans
one of the core premises of darkness is that momo has decided too many girls like rito for her to monopolize him, and iirc she also has a pretty big inferiority complex about it all at the end of the day
so, in a play to win some of his affection, and since he'd be marrying lala, making the concept of a harem legal bc space law is into that shit
momo spends pretty much all of darkness trying to build rito's harem, to his dislike
all of that is to say, momo is a core character in darkness and they'd be stupid not to include her as a playable
but
that kinda leaves teh questoin of what to do with her other sister
nana is important as a bridge between bea and the rest of the cast, but aside from that, i dont' remember her getting that much focus in darkness
like the "main" girls in darkness, iirc, are lala, yami, nemesis, and momo, with the others, even the other core ones, being more visible side characters for the most part
and we're running out of spaces
i'll probably go do a reread of the whole series before the collab drops
the series ended in like 2017 or something and i started reading it in 2013
