i just checked and the last time (and only time!) d'eon got an upgrade of any kind in japan was july 2017 for the second anniversary

the upgrade was to their np and it's an awful upgrade by 2017 standards let alone today

they've really consigned d'eon to the scrapheap, it seems

you will want the crit eventually

but

the fortunate part of being a dendro applier

means that u can absolutely not give a shit

as long as u have enough em

and enough er

and a solid amount of attack

he will perform well

if you run him in quicken/aggravate though a better crit ration becomes more important

even there, building enough attack and em will also carry

its a big reason haitham is frequently heralded as the best/2nd best/3rd best 5 star c0 carry

because like neuvillette and arlecchino, they can require relatively little updates and their best stats mean they often dont need a perfect 1:2 crit ratio

zzz's soundtrack is for sure a bop

it just fits the setting well

and it flows well throughout the menus and gameplay

havent hit any track that grabs me immediately yet

but its all been good-great

animations are insanely good

this is probably hoyo's best looking game

every character is so personalized even if they share a face and eyes

(this is only amby and s11)

everyone else looks and plays very unique, with their own mechanics, and interactions

was a big fan of during the swap parry if the characters know each other they have unique voicelines for the swap/tag in

combat flows very well

havent yet reached higher difficulty stuff

but the base combat so far just works really well and is super responsive

enemies are also nice to look at as are the levels

i like the comic book style approach for the story. it works well. i also appreciate that both belle and wise share significant screen time and so far all the main case i've encountered has also been well paced into the story

now for some downsides. not much really. but they exist.
-i dont think ive been this polarized on hoyo characters in a while. u either love or just hate the designs on the characters.

-ui absolutely can feel wonky and a bit unintuitive.

but i can say it has 6 "artifact" slots like hsr

but not all over the place for grind from what i can tell

no need to grind "sim universe" + "calyxes"

also it reads to me that stats seem to be rather just nice bonuses. what matters more is personal skill and mastery over your character and teams which i hope continues

I just pick up the cute characters
