there is a single alternative to xingqiu and she is worse in many spots and no one has replaced bennett and probably no one ever will
when starting out, if your starting pulls include either of them and/or fischl or sucrose its worth keeping the account
you get xiangling for free as you clear the game
and the other free 4 stars are also pretty damn good
the only dud is amber the very 1st character u get and of no fault of her own
she just requires too much investment and shes worse than bennett as a pyro support and worse than xiangling as a pyro dps

lisa is a top tier electro dps for specific teams and a generic electro support for some electro teams

Going up against the level 38 purple gem enemy with the rock paper scissors attacks (while my characters were all level 20) went a long ways towards helping me figure out the elemental combinations and general flow of combat
Elemental reactions really are a lot of fun
Still haven't gotten too far in the story, but Diluc's connections with Jean and Kaeya respectively are pretty interesting. And in spite of his subpar skill with lyrics, Venti is probably my favorite character so far lol
