nearl and texas are good but may be a little expensive to promote, depending on where you are in the game

kroos is an okay early pick, holds her weight even against higher rarity options
i will say, while it's a very long way off for you, e2 amiya is required for a certain point in the story
so don't completely neglect her
but you can safely invest in other units first and keep that tucked away somewhere in the back of your head
fundamentally, it'll be good to keep a couple of units in all the standard classes kept up
so that's casters, guards, vanguards, snipers, defenders, and medics
supporters and specialists are a bit more context-dependent
from there, you can pick and choose based on their roles
for example, some defenders are purely tank-oriented, while others may be able to heal around them but are a little less tanky
a lot of snipers are anti-air focused, meaning that if drones or other airborne enemies are in range, they'll prioritize attacking those
but some others do other things, like splash damage
(kroos is a standard anti-air sniper ofc)

my recommended order would probably be projekt red > silence > liskarm > pramanix
pr has good utility, fast redeploys are good in a bunch of different situations and she is a bit of a more offensive take on gravel
silence is a serviceable healer; while cheaper options exist, you might get some use out of her drone
liskarm is a weird one, being a defender with actual range and can also be an sp battery, but you might find that useful
pramanix is damage support, which is okay, but it doesn't come up as much as you might think, and shamare exists as well

as for the bigger 5* selector, iirc the most recommended one tends to be specter
at e2 she becomes a 3 block guard, also has her immortality skill which helps with lane holding, has reasonable offenses to actually kill shit while lane holding, and more recently, should synergize with lumen since lumen can heal statuses
also, if you pulled specter the unchained, taking specter would unlock alternate operator missions, where getting them to various levels of promotion would recoup some of the resources you used for them
