Really the most surprising about Iron Valiant isn't Liquidation, but that it can't learn Aqua Cutter.

Aqua Cutter is a very rare move, but Gallade is one of the few that can learn it, and isn't even a water type

Which makes me think that in the process of just, existing, Iron Valiant screwed up on learning some blade technique of the thing its based on and just hits things with a watery blast instead of slicing.

Smogon is Koffing's name in German. In 2004, the banner for this competitive Pokémon forum was Koffing with a Swastika in its chest.

"Smogon's Great Nazi Empire" started as a big gas chamber joke.
