I also later realized that this team is 5 guaranteed encounters and a repel manip, so no excuses for not making it through.

You can even abuse shiny clause for the banzai bill once like I did because I got a modest bullet bill

Also the items are all easy to get. Black sludge at world 4. Magnet is pokemon league at worst. Sitrus berry is available almost immediately. Soft sand, berry for confusion...there's a lot of guaranteed stuff

Btw the berry for confusion is for 1 mon in the entire E4 that's otherwise a menace. It exploits the AI. Basically, the AI will go for status moves if it doesn't see a kill on you and if you aren't statused. Turn 1, a menace of a bulky ghost fighting always goes for bulk up. It has swagger, bulk up, close combat and a weak ghost move (didn't even check), plus no guard.
You switch in a mon with will-o. He goes for swagger because you aren't statused. You cure yourself and land the 100% accurate willo on it, permanently crippling the run ender that's that thing.

You can also risk a CC and get something with a 1shot move in against it.
