Forcibly swap itself out of the fight
Waste a turn getting out of Hyper Mode
And you could not use items on it

The big thing about sleep is whether or not being asleep has that devastating of an effect on the game. 2-3 turn sleep is where the line starts pushing it, and it only gets more controversial the more offensively charged the meta goes

It's certainly not as uncompetitive as something like Evasion or Gen 5 sleep tho

(For reference, Gen 5 sleep was considered hella toxic since Sleep turn counter reset if the pokemon was swapped out)

The roulette sleep lead Amoongus sounds really annoying

meta probably isn't suited for that now tho

Sleep seems way more of a case-by-case basis, particularly when they bring up sleep into speedy attack

I think my take ends up being "The whole generation's meta has a lot of problems, and I would not care if sleep stuck around or went"
