Beedril (Adaptability) : Increases STAB-move damage from 1.5x to 2x
Pinsir (Aerialite): All normal type (including +1 priority move Quick Attack) moves becomes Flying type and gets a 30% boost. (In Gen-7, its 20%)
Heracross (Skill Link): All multi-strike moves will strike the maximum number of times… So Rock Blast, Bullet Seed, Fury Attack, Pin Missile, Arm Thrust will strike for 5 times.
Scizor (Technician): Increase the base power by 50% of the moves that has 60 or less Base Power.
With so much boosted Attack-stat, combined with attack-boosting Abilities, it does make sense to make Fairy type, along with other existing Bug-resisting types, to be resistant to Bug types.
Bug types have stat-boosting moves like Quiver Dance and Tail-Glow… And after using one Tail-Glow or 2-Quiver Dance, they often become the game-changer.
Bug type moves are immune to none. So U-Turn can be applied to all types (unlike Volt-Switch which doesn’t work on Ground types)…
Sticky Web, Infestation, First Impression and Leech Life (with base-power 80, previously it was only 20!) gave the Bug type more power and usefulness in Tournaments/Competition.
These are the reasons I believe for the Bug type having many types including the Fairy type to be resistant to it.”

Okay, so, I wanna quickly explain how I’m going to get the Metal Coat into Crystal.
I have 2 GBA SPs and a GBA Link Cable, but you can’t use a GBA Link Cable to trade between the two.
All of my trading is being done using an N64, Pokemon Stadium 2, and 2 Transfer Paks.
I am genuinely terrified at using these too much.
More than a few times, I’ve actually gotten an error (because this is 25 year old hardware) and had it crash.
Crashes with trading in PS2 actually just have the chance to straight up delete mons from existence.

So my plan is to minimise the amount of trades necessary for the evolution.
You would expect a minimum of 3: 1 to get the Metal Coat over, and then 2 to evolve Scizor.
I can do it in 2.
See, the Stadium games have a pretty baller feature called the Metal Box (and Colour Case for Gen 1).
It’s essentially an item storage system.
To minimise the risk of trade errors, I’ll first use the Metal Box to take the item directly out of Gold, and put it in Stadium 2.
Then I can just withdraw it in Crystal.

The GB wasn’t capable of two-way communication
Trading Pokemon, for example, involves sending the data from one game, then the other
The GBA is capable of two-way communication but GBC games can’t recognise it as a link cable

So you very well can have mons like Mamoswine, Yanmega, Lickilicky and a few others.

There's not much a point to using its evo line
The problem with Beedrill was that it needed a format where there was an abundant amount of special energy among top decks.
Fortunately, Mew VMax provided a borderline tier 0 format with that

It's really more that most bug-types like Weedle tend to have absurd swarming capabilities, even if the end result is admittedly lacking
Caterpie (RCL) and Metapod can evolve the turn it's played, meaning you can as early as turn 1, slam down a Butterfree, like the one in Fusion Strike, which inflicts a mess of status aliments. And the Wurmple in Lost Origin has an attack that lets you add any number of Wurmple, Silcoon, Cascoon, Beautifly and Dustox from the deck to the hand
I'm just, super disappointed in the Scatterbug in Scarlet/Violet, since it really doesn't have the same niche that Butterfree had compared to Vivillon
