Especially looking at salt golems stats
Being pure rock is a very fair counterbalance for stats that good

I love how the types I mentioned earlier, Bug, Rock and Ice all works pretty good as fast sweepers, well I guess fast sweepers are GOOD in general but still
Now that I think about, Clodsire is the reason why I wanna make a cake themed team
Found this just now btw
Piplup S is very correct
what the hell is that hoenn slander
Hoenn Slander detected, opinion discarded
Blaze kick, leaf blade, Muddy Water, choose your death method
Hisuian evos included?
Also imagine not lovin Smugleaf and evos
first list i've seen where the gen 5 starters aren't at the bottom
Yeah I never really got that bs
corvi is too insane to be just cheesed by rocks lole like how the dex says it is
and ppl like gush over this mon too much
Corvi services being unavailable because of the rocks sure but I really don't buy this being corviknight's predator
if anything it'd make more sense for garganacl to be the one to take that role
throwing rocks, throwing salt
salt cure being really tough on it, etc
If its move was SE vs Steel I'd get it lmao
But tbh, I do decently like Tinkaton, but not my top 3.
I'm indifferent I just dont like the whole "wahh corv killer" thing they went for it when it cant even do that nor does it make sense
I think Ceruledge, Kingambit and either Lokix or Annihalape are probably my top 3
Tbf tho. It's not just corv. It also goes after the Pawniard line
Just that... They gave it no ways to threaten other steel types
My top 3 is baxcalibur, roaring moon, clodsire
Koraidon, Clodsire and Meowscarada for me
Wait
Hariyama gets headlong rush too?!
Oh nah, I might have to side with whoever said that Hariyama might be better than Iron Hands
Another day, another team
Fuecoco and Chespin slander will not be tolerated
Same with gen 5 and gen 3
Yeah AV Glimmora is def a bulky sweeper
Invalid opinion
Hoenn as a whole at the bottom feeling really sus
hoenn is based
love water and trumpets
also mudkip is a good lad and i will not stand to see him be slandered
torchic line overrated as is mudkip line imo
mudkip line gets saved by mega swampert
torchic line is as shit as chespin line
it's a fried chicken
Kick boxing chicken
What about sceptile
No, just Blaziken
No I mean is sceptile good looking or the opposite 😂
It's based around the idea of cockfighting, a specific type of asian martial arts and painted chicks who go from cute birb to something hard to look at (and thus ended up getting abandoned or put down)
Yeah and I answered, they only made Blaziken ugly.
I mean I like all 3 starters visually and wouldn't call Blaziken ugly, but the idea was to make him hard to look at
Gen 3 as a whole went for edgier designs pushing against the previous design conventions as well as back then criticism gen 2's new mons were seen as too cute
Honestly can say the opposite.
I just lost my mind when the cute chick turned into a fiery chicken that does Muay Thai
But understandable
And yeah, most mons from RSE are most certainly drastically different than what we got during the early days. Not a bad idea but for the time, a lot of people definitely had some opinions most likely
I kinda thought Blaziken was seen by people as the prettier looking one out of the three, kinda a first hearing ‘it looks bad’, not saying I disagree or agree tho
i think collectively, the best looking starters is probably gen 7? gen 2 is up there also
GSC is mixed for me
You got mons like Chokorita who definitely goes through a lot of progression, and then you get Cyndaquil, who's only real notable change is it just gets bigger, and a lot angrier
Pert looks hella nice tho
Maybe Gen 1 for me, don’t know why but if I mentally image 9 generations of starters final evo, the answer is Gen 1
Still cute though, the mouse is
i think gen 1, gen 2, gen 7 all have fine designs. I dont love incineroar, but it's fine
better than blaziken for sure
Incineroar is kinda the deal breaker for me too
Not too sold on Incineroar but I love its personality
Only remember the gen 6 trio just now and I think they can sit on my number 2
I like the starters this gen oddly enough
all of them look nice and are all currently viable
Again not sayinf Blaziken is ugly
Just that they wanted it to come off as hard to look at
Yeah!
Also yeah, I think Gen 9's starters are solid. Like a high C tier. All of them being OU rn is cool tho
duck is ou?
singles is weird, because like in doubles, water tauros is just a better pokemon all around
Spdef bulky sweeper duck is nice right now
one of the few mons who can help you vs chi yu
Still need to spend time with them but they do look better if i compare them with gen 8 trio
Only because Gen 8 had Rillaboom and Inteleon
gen 8 had 2/3 be good
gigaton hammer should've been like freeze dry
where it deals SE damage against steel types
inteleon is just such an ugly pokemon
but yeah gen 8 was solid otherwise
i don't like 3 humanoid starters though
imagine how less cooler skeledirge would have been on 2 legs
I briefly checked and I’m surprised how no one brought up Sinnoh starters yet
Torterra was kinda messy-looking and Empoleon is meh really tho
I imagined it would have been like, 2.5 legs... if that made sense
Basically what Feraligatr had going for it; you can tell it goes on fours, but it stands up, usually when it's ready to fight
the entire Chikorita is a disappointment
She spin
pog
kinda want to play a XY randomizer
need a refresher with an easier game
It mattered

aww
Wouldn't really say braviary is white tho
I still genuinely feel like Ninetales should have the same Base Stat Total as Arcanine
Seriously
Ayyy
Y'know, I really do miss the odd battle modes introduced
Triple Battles and Rotation Battles
A shame Sun and Moon did away with it.
yeah
Aight, this is the team for elesa
why isn't oshawott evolved
Because dewott is not white

(I almost lost to parahax, emolga ended up being my last mon)
is Whimsicott?
Ok that's fair
nat dex uu is swsh natdex ou lmao
insert False Swipe Gaming's however, with this gen's UU looking like the previous gen's OU type spiel here
I'm happy that clodsire is ou even in natdex
Unfortunately
ye clodsire is cute
I'm rn only really watching random matches on showdown because I just don't know what to build
Natdex fake tier + month 1 + randomness/for fun
and a lot of times it's like "wiat how the fuck did this person reason 1700's if their entire team folds to chi yu"
What team doesn't

idk I saw some copium about sp.defensive roaring moon
Swanna
It’s more gray/silver for me but ig it’s a range
And if you have access to Amoonguss, it’s probably better than Whimsicott
ok so, funny thing
the pokedex can sort mons based on color, white included
Jellicent is considered a white mon
what do you think?
That’s fair in my eyes
The “beard” and dots and frills on their bodies have a lot of white
Borf!
This was... Surprisingly easy
Alright, I'm gonna try the Pixelmon Modpack
Might be an interesting experience all things considered
...In fact? Kinda tempted to see if making a server Pixelmon Modpack server could be possible.
Aw jeez
...Hmm, do I just want to pick Torchic again? Wondering if I ought to choose a new friendo for this
Also wow, that's some uh, awkward sprite work for Paldea
...Ah screw it, Mudkip it is

MOTH
...Alright, a desert.
Well, considering this is MC I might see if I can go looking for tools first in case I want to do building, but more importantly find some methods to capturing stuff
A lot of mons out here look so out of place in this blocky world.
You got blocky steves running around and there's a perfectly smooth trapinch out there
I approve
I felt I might as well be different
what
Alright. A: Defeating mons gives materials, so I guess this'll be handy
B: Is this the same Pidgey I KO'd
Alright, so I got this and a few Apricorns which I can only assume can make those specialty balls for capturing mons.
Well yeah, scarlet and violet has the same mechanic
You defeat a pokemon and take their skin
I don't think I ever recall getting raw meat for such a thing. I just thought it was clumps of hair or scales from the scuffle!
Don’t you take the hide of some Pokémon?
Also fat from some iirc
Might as well train against the local wildlife until I can figure out what to do
Yeah, some of the materials are a lot of stuff.
Makes you feel more like a Monster Hunter than a trainer, though thankfully there isn't rare stuff that you need for TM's like I guess, a Dragonite Mantle or whatever
Among some are Ceatotle Grease, Scyther Claws, Ditto Goo (ew), and the funniest, Delibird Parcels
Apparently you got to commit a federal crime to make TM's
gen 9 also introduced edible meat as sandwich ingredients, so
scyther claws
Well, they gotta come from somewhere. Unless it's that weird vegan meat
alright, i have more or less decided on the endgame team i want
Amoonguss (Shiitake), Volcarona (Cocoa), Jellicent (Sundae), Glaceon (Cream), Altaria (Tofu), and Mienshao (Spring).
Surprisingly eating the Occa Berry in my inventory isn't harmful
Figured it'd be way spicy

Tatsugiri Run, available now on AppStore for 14.99 lol
Cute animation with these fish
Also I’ve been wanting to ask, is Tatsugiri good or bad without Dondozo?? Is it similar to 1-fish Wishiwashi?
Allllright, captured a Snubbull
it's ok ish
a bit frail tho
I cried
repost moment #417

Aw sweet, just found Evolite in a dungeon-thing
It’s very good speed control
Also it’s spA is respectable enough to pick up ko’s
I love how glimmora has such a good support kit and great spA
Huh, who knew they didn’t make the small fish weak, good for Tatsugiri
Randomly killing someone because they think you’re both going for set up is funny
AV Glimmora is very good.
Yeah nasty plot surf draco meteor rapid spin is decent
with heavy duty boots
Still have the name ‘fishcake’ available, maybe I can split the name into two if I want the Sushi and…Dondozo is a Catfish ight
There’s also Palafin… why do I feel like the water types in Gen 9 are above-average good
Oh wtf
Did you guys know you can rematch all of team star with updated teams?
It’s not marked or anything
You just go to where their bases were
And talk to the respective boss
yeah, the training thing
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ou-1733767244-5d58zqc6hdx7gzldtoavfdvbgbvr2rppw @lucid moth lmaoo
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between Jamarius Dinglenut and A ([Gen 9] OU)
i just wanna know what the plan was against pult
or chi-yu for that matter
their entire team loses to chi-yu
Is it normal to feel kinda iffy on the whole concept of breeding for perfect IV's?
Like mechanically I'm alright with such, if you see it from a whole statistical standpoint, but truthfully out of context it just sounds like one big eugenics program
You know
I remember, back during gen 7 datamine era
That people said "toxapex bad" cause it had 50 base hp
Guy thought his clodsire was strong enough to survive lol
can someone explain this image
Blinded by gold
Y’all wanna know something mildly amusing
As of the most recent viability rankings, Meganium, in spite of its constant mockery, is the best starter in GSC
Well, best Gen 2 starter, anyway
I’m pretty sure Charizard is actually higher than it rn
people don't exactly look back on retro formats that often tbf
just like how no one would say Serperior isn't the best gen 5 starter competitive wise cuz it sucked without Contrary in gen 5 itself
Asking this in a playthrough scenario, cause I know you can’t use duplicates pokemon in competitive
So I know about the toxic orb Tatsugiri+Dondozo+Flamigo strat results with two Pokémon with omni boost 2 ight, is it possible to do this with two extra Tatsugiri, making 2 omni boost 6 mon

I got a big doggo that thinks they are too
So this is just precious
I love how they made this big dog look like the don of some italian mob, but it's also just the biggest cinnamon roll
For my first challenge run of scarlet I think I will be doing a fighting only fun and you know which starter that means!
yes I dont hate quaxly nearly as much as I used to
My wife said jokingly (she knows nothing about Pokémon), “you’re not an ally if you didn’t pick the duck as your starter pokemon”
either that, or a fire run.
in which I'll pick feucoco
either way I know who I want on my team
Fuecoco makes the game too easy imo
Im gonna shiny hunt this tauros
What’s it look like shiny
Fuecoco really does trivialize the entire game
Theory: they cut the shiny sound because of how frequently pokemon spawn in walls
It's either meowscarada or leafeon
Well there's consistency to the buff from tera
Just like 6 conditions on it
Huh
- Move must be naturally below 60 power.
- Move must be below 60 power after technician and before Double Battle modifier.
- Move cannot be a priority move
- Move cannot be a multi-hit
- It does not apply if you tera to a type other than the pokemon's original typing
- Any move that has variable power are exempt
- Any move that steadily increases in power per turn (Rollout, Fury Cutter) only get the buff for the first time they hit, then return to normal hits 2-5
Does this change anything in practice, btw?
Pretty much next to nothing, particularly since it cannot stack with Technician
I see
So no scizor in ubers, got it
Still, i wonder if it was intentional or not
Since they never mentioned it anywhere
So scizor in OU instead
why isnt my ditto breeding with my meowscadara 😦
I have egg power, only those 2 in the party
They wanna play the long game
CARNIVORE used Glaive Rush!
(The opposing Slither Wing lost 100% of its health!)
The opposing Slither Wing fainted!
never gets old
Yeah it's baxcalibur's signature move
Dragon type or ice type move
Dragon type, same power as outrage but it won't lock you. What happens is, during the next turn baxcali will take double damage from the opponent's next attack and their move isnt able to miss
the drawback is kind of a non issue because you obliterate whatever is in front
I'm using it with choice band and tera type dragon
How fast is Baxcalibur?
Dang, ice looks kinda good this gen
I left my ditto at the picnic for hours
and they didnt breed with meowscadara

OH
IM JUST DUMB
There is a second basket
got the cheese croc
, just need to trade for the fabulous duck now
Steel terra falinks
doing the link code for sprigatito for quaxly, nobody has quaxly
nice
Cute

Dox your birthday: 101
Yeah I should delete it lol
It's fine but like
I don't like it since it's so specific
Like the month ones are fine, and even name letters, this is one is hella specific
Yeah that's just outright your birthday
It's not like this info is gonna get used here
We can keep it for fun, but lets just move on and answer without typing
Half the server's regulars' birthdays can be found in #non_yugioh_chat anyway
Say mine for example
Like to the exact year known
shiny moth baby ❤️
I normally don’t care for these but fucking mono bug… really?!
Sad... you're PU tier
At least you re not 4 times weak to the earth lol
excadrill and volcanion
Damn you got 2 birthdays?
So tandemaus?
Did a lot of exploring last night
But probably about time I start getting my team closer to my current obedience cap
ugggggh FINALLY
Going without ways to learn moves was super painful
And also for whatever reason Ursaring forgot how to use Baby-Doll eyes when it evolved
I’m Rabsca
you're empoleon?
wtf Doxxed
Don't normally care for these, buuuut - I am... a mon that will inevitably cause smogon to ban last respects
Having a good time in Pixelmon but the whole deal that you have to gain your levels the old way, one mon at a time is pretty irritating
That item that allows such a thing may be a thing, but knowing how rare a few other things in this mod are, I'm probably gonna have to fistfight god just to get it
how dare it recreate the classic Pokemon experience
I mean, Classic is fine, just, you get so used to having other mons grow in levels too that you would feel off when you go back
Then again, the mod really doesn't have any sort of story or plot, so you don't exactly feel pressured to get your levels in
Bit of a question: Why does Detect have 5 PP, when Protect has 10?
I like how Detect just is summed up as "The Cooler Protect", since the move implies that they don't block any sort of damage incoming, but they just know what attack is coming and avoid it entirely
Remind me to take that one meme and just put Protect and "The Cooler Protect" in there
Yep!
...Y'know, I might need to do regular Minecraft stuff to build up EXP for myself, so that I can excavate more of these things for the Move Tutors.
It's pretty cool how some of the new materials you can find can be used to make balls to catch stuff in
You don't even need to buy some at a mart if you got the materials. All it takes is apricorns and metals to make a lid and a base, as well as a Stone Button
Though, finding those apricorns and growing them can be a little boring, getting 7 of each color and finding a good spot to have your orchard
Played various gen games of randomizer in a long time
One game I had a team of castform, ledian, delibird, charmelion, charizard, and jinx
Alolan raichu, i guess
Ok so, visit a swamp
Find a ghost tower
Make a platform on top, place a healer and a pc down, etc
Just keep farming the bosses that spawn (mega gengar, mega sableye, chandelure, and mismagius)
...Ok I have zero idea what this is about, but y'know I'm more than willing to try whatever this is!
Ah cool, Sableye can drop Diamonds
That's gonna be neat... assuming I can ever find them. Seems they show up in place of where Silverfish usually can be.
Basically you can just farm all boss drops to oblivion, master balls included
Hmm, alright
Right now I'm just finding a good spot to build a home in
I got too much junk and I gotta have space to put everything
caught a shiny mareep and 2 shiny magnemite
sandwichs
i named my mareep sayu and one of my magnemites nikola
also does anyone has a fuecoco, i can trade my other shiny magnemite for it
Perhaps I could even do a playthrough as a member of Team Sky
oricorio would be a good mon for that, it's shiny is technically 4 shinies and I could switch the form for various battles 😮
Question, how hard would it be to do vanilla nuzlocke in Scarlet?
Not really. the hardest part is determining what counts for first encounter
I see
Maybe I can make my Tokusatsu run a nuzlocke, possibly seeing a few characters dying
Cyclizar can be caught early on right? Lazer would be a fitting name
Just entered Ultra Space
...Wow, uh, wasn't what I was expecting. And yet it is
Surprisingly a whole lot of mons around this desert, but no such Ultra Beast in sight
And there is sooo much Max Raid dens
Also, apparently the item balls have really good stuff
I got a bunch of Z crystals from a few.
And the last one I thought to check has an Exp All
Evidently this is the way I use the whole division of exp thing
Update
I like that riolu and lucarios aren’t aggressive in paldea.
Got a good selfie with 4 riolu’s
They just know you're very cool
Off to the Haunted Tower we go~
Well here it is. And
There was nothing in it, save for an item ball, a hidden item ball with only a single Pokeball inside, and some kind of bell jumpscare
That being said, something else has now taken my interest
Looks like we don't have a choice!
Everyone wants the cat
D'aww
Alright so defeating that Pidgeot gave me a Mega Bracelet. So I guess I can initiate Mega Evolution now.
...Not that it's immediately helpful since none of my mons so far can undergo Mega Evolution. Eh.
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between A and Testingpokenow ([Gen 9] OU)
water absorb clod is too nice @lucid moth
oh and also some funny baxcal kills there
clod getting an immunity vs a common check is strong yea
tbf
it was nicer when palafin was in the meta
Yeah, I still like it bc it helps vs chi yu a ton
some chi yu just farm you because heehoo ignore overheat drop
running pyschic on chi yu is funny
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9monotype-1736008712 mono type tourney finals
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between SleepyEmboar and Metrona ([Gen 9] Monotype)
god that was harsh
i love water absorb clod too
lol
Arven's titan fighting mons can be shiny
i imagine they dont stay shiny during his final fight?
most definitely not
CARNIVORE used Glaive Rush!
It's not very effective...
(The opposing Corviknight lost 51% of its health!)
got the max roll
banded tera dragon?
nice
Question, which one is of these are the better game to get
BDSP or Snap New
Wanna get my future priorities correct
New snap
Pure water
Checks out
Immensely
I was watching without looking at the names, and I knew the person that ended up being you would win from the go
They had 0 realistic answer to garganacl
And they were just overall playing worst than you
Beginning to notice that Pixelmon is likely a lot better with a server.
Doing this singleplayer is nice admittedly, but It feels... empty?
That’s kind of a major thing about Minecraft in general honestly
Ehhh, yeah.
Problem is I'm unsure my computer can actually handle multiplayer on mods.
I'll see if I can, but no promises
Only thing I'd need now is to see if there's any popular multiplayer servers
I ranked every single tera-type from worst to best. If you're looking for a general best tera-type for your Pokemon, this video should give you a good idea of what to look for
Check out project mechadoge! https://ggcont.me/3iJIvGs
Check out all my Scarlet and Violet videos here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb_5fF_O3FvjEglm1tAGgGVuJo4YTz...
I apologise, I wish I'd seen it sooner
ur totally fine lol
I dont mind it either cause it was cool :v
Oh huh,vgc doing open team lists
So moves, items and terra type will be known
I feel it should have been just the terra types but hey
wasnt this always the case
If they've gotta make bad decisions to justify a mechanic, maybe the mechanic is the issue and they should have banned that instead
afaik VGC doesn't do open team lists. This means you know the opponent's items, nature, moveset and terra types.
You're thinking of team preview
which was already controversial in early gen 5 lmao
Yeah team preview was controversial but so was not having team preview too
(Gen 5 specifically)
The general take, and take I agree with, is they should have revealed less info but revealing Tera is a good thing
I feel it should've just been reveal terra ye
moveset/items just kinda reveals way too much
One pretty big thing that this changes of that mons that had a surprise factor of having a lot of different sets gets a bit weaker now
oh abilities too don't forget
Yeah, now you will be looking at obvious synergies instead of inferring based upon team comp
Like imagine you think the opp's clodsire is unaware, but nope water absorb
You can also play around what coverage they have
It's basically like an Open Deck PTCG tournament
Changes a lot of how you think about a matchup and you now think through your entire gameplan to the opponent's team. Way less in-game learning and a lot more learning on the front part
What's unfortunate is that open team details like this was done well in Battle Rev's Sunset Colosseum...
But that was because it was draft format where both players could pick from the selection of 12 pokes
Pokemon Company absolutely would not put in the effort to designing a balanced draft system like that
I mean, isn't vgc kinda similiar to that?
Because of the whole bring 6 pick 4 thing
The origin of VGC style is moreso the Battle Dome from Emerald
Every Colosseum in battle rev has the regular VGC logic like that
preview of team comp, no deets on the pokemon besides species
Battle Dome in Emerald was that, but you picked 2 of 3 instead of 4 of 6...
The only other information you knew was the last move of each game and a very vague description of the opponent's strategy
The difference in Sunset was that you and your opponent drafted from the same 12 pokemon and both had access to all the details of the pokemon.
They are, but with moves being public it would be difficult for some pokemon to pull off a bluff like that
Defense investment being private affects certain walls, and speed being private influences offensive metagame.
Man this feels really bad to be able to see EVERYTHING outside of stats
Movesets being public means that certain pokemon you'd normally plan to counter certain situations now have to blatantly show off that they are intended for a certain strat
RIP Pult
Pokemon with a big useful movepool now have to pick a role and show the opponent the role
Open Decklists in Pokemon TCG reflects on this logic too
Open Decklists in a TCG is a lot different tho
It really only messes with certain techs
This completely kills various mons viability
I mean you are still publicly showing your opponent all your options on how to play
Which is a big crime yeah
Best of 1 for a competitive format is absurd
But the point still stands about knowing your opponent's tools and opponents planning accordingly
Yeah true
Lost Zone Toolbox in PTCG is heavily influenced by this
The difference between knowing your opponent is playing a build involving Kyogre vs not is huge.
In closed decklist, you have to infer any sign that they are playing Kyogre from energy counts and cards flung into the discard pile / lost zone
You can't even say "Oh they play water energy it must involve Kyogre" due to Radiant Greninja also being really popular for water.
However in open list you know that from the beginning you should be planning to deal with Kyogre
Hold onto certain cards, make sure your opponent cannot get rid of all your outs instead of running the hypothesis on if they or not have that option.
Learning that you should hold onto a way to deal with Kyogre can determine the game by a full 4 prize cards.
Pokemon runs similarly, but has a lot more cases that are blatantly not worth as a result of open info
Online Pokemon TCG's bigger crime, like you said, is that a bunch of tournaments are best of 1
Just to be clear on this tho, Regionals and such are best 2 out of 3
Locals it could very well be different and online unofficial stuff does Bo1 a lot more
PTCGO's mini tournaments are also Bo1, but not official regionals and upper
I feel like 2 out of 3 formats should use less prize cards per round, but that's just me
Having to go through picking at most 18 or so prize cards for a win would be rather sluggish
The problem with making it 4 prize cards is that the game's cardpool doesn't allow it well
I'd say the only generations that can safely have a 4-prize pool are gens 1, 2, and 4
Hell, some gen 4 players would welcome it with open arms given how obnoxiously long games against stall were
I mean
Mienshao is in the same game
And the method required to get gallade in bw2 is uhhhh
Something, to say the least
it has a whole ass side quest right
Gallade is nice
CARNIVORE used Glaive Rush!
(The opposing Ting-Lu lost 82% of its health!)
Glaive rush is basically just dragon gen 1 hyper beam, right?
actually getting the gym leader rematches done right now
tbh it was easy
same BP as outrage but the downside is non existent. Basically next turn you take 2x damage and the opponent's moves cannot miss
but when baxcalibur is blowing up walls or your opp is trying to scramble and find switch ins its a non issue
CB adamant tera glaive 2shots corviknight after rocks
252+ Atk Choice Band Tera Dragon Baxcalibur Glaive Rush vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Corviknight: 175-206 (43.7 - 51.5%) -- 64.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
Do Baxcalibur run Protect in singles?
Not usually
is baxcalibur fast enough to go again
decently fast enough. against offensive teams you can take a hit then just glaive one of their mons, or if you find the right switch in you can blow something up then switch out. You also have banded ice shard to check faster mons
oh yeah people run ice shard now
yeah with these stats it probably can take a hit or two
unless its a big mon with some bs
You can go dragon dance or swords dance with heavy duty boots but choice band is the easiest to use
ye
40 yeah
You can still pickup some decent ohkos with it
252+ Atk Choice Band Baxcalibur Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Meowscarada: 314-372 (107.1 - 126.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

some dont expect it since dragon dance is the "most common" set
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between flufflepuff123456 and Haris gg ([Gen 9] Ubers)
Ceruledge 1v6
Wtf it ohkos roaring moon

maushold ohkos great tusk
well yeah, but Im just saying
if a tiny breeding mouse can take on a mammoth, doesnt surprise me if baxcalibur can ohko a dragon.
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ou-1736957945-mwgy5zl2r8ablu0quljc1c2h8srpolmpw good grief mixed clod just carried me unbelievably hard @lucid moth
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between A and sumofsquares ([Gen 9] OU)
mans had like 3000 setup mons
and I wasnt even unaware
Fun fact: snorlax in gen 2 ou has like a nearly 50% winrate
Why? Cause it was used in nearly 100% of teams and thus when one won, another loss lol
Snorlax the strongest Pokemon of all time
yea, sounds about right
yes
That’s fucking weird
As weird as Dragonair to Dragonite?
Like what kind of roids did Dragonair take to become Puff the Magic Dragon?
Ye, i think
@waxen moat https://twitter.com/pokemonbewillin/status/1601260466134601728?s=46&t=GZTgQoYWCG4U1YSQyFiF_g
Actually looks kinda good
It is 4 pm and I still haven’t had breakfast or Lunch 🙂
Okay that's mega cute
tortilla chips with burnt edges is a really sick touch
Then Then the mustard, tomato sauce, fried onion and a cheesy sauce looks great
It’s one way to train for outside survival really, not feeling hungry=more food for later or others lol
SNOM!!
fucked up how it's called "the iono zone" and not "the ionosphere"
they used up all their translating budget on Greavard
how am i supposed to simp for this anime girl if she doesn't know about the ionosphere
smh
Hmm, cholesterol
Would still eat it tho
how is it weird?
a chick evolving into a big bird seems normal
(Looks at Toucannon line)
It’s more with flittle it kinda feels like there’s a missing middle step
It’s weird but then again, a remora evolves into an octopus
So really, par for the course
That’s because octopi are born as fish before being written into horrible tentacle monsters by HP Lovecraft
A real shame, because Pikipek and Trumbeak look related
And then bam Toucannon
Toucannon is cool though
Too bad he’s shit
He should have been fairy flying
Because of you know, fruit loops
Grass flying makes more sense for that
Pure flying maybe, or flying fire cause of the gimmick with its beak
Remoraid is because it used to be a gun
And Octillery was a tank
But they changed them after the beta
I feel like this could've been done better
Yeah definitely
There's way too much back and forth without telling you where to go
maybe they expect you to return to the Academy with some regularity
crossing back and forth makes more sense if you treat the Academy as a hub of sorts
They probably expected that but forgot to design the map where going back to the hub wasn't obstructive
The easy example for that design is Kalos
Yes Kalos has you take loops, but they still made your main hub a center point to 5 different directions
Heck if you wanted to resdistribute the linearity in Hoenn, Mauville could have worked to it too
Pretty mild obstruction given you have a lot of travel capabililty, but still kinda dumb
There's really nothing in the central city or academy that would encourage that tho
And there's also just nothing telling you where to go
My opinion on EVERY generation 9 Pokemon so far from Scarlet and Violet!
Thank you to my wonderful members!

Don’t recommend

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet let you breed pokemon for shiny pokemon using a Masuda ditto and what's called the Masuda method. Here's testing using multiple pokemon breeding.

The video literally states the method you were advocating for is less efficient in terms of egg production
Lemme check
Variety is irrelevant for efficiency
Ugh I don't wanna watch a 16 minute video for this
And yeah, more variety hurts efficiency
Also his averages are 1.87/1.73/2.37
1.87 for 1:1
1.73 for 1:3
2.37 for 3:3
So it's less efficient to have 1 Ditto per 3 pokes
Although he fucked up the test by doing a different time on the second one
So it's possible it could be a statistical error
Yeah he does say it's less efficient
Yeah, but regular masuda is better
Can you provide a timestamp for this, just so I can check it without having to comb through a 16 minute video again

Ok, he's saying that in the greater context of Shiny Hunting, rather than breeding to get a shiny
Which was what the original discussion was about
But 1:3 Masuda Method doesn't confer any additional benefit to efficiency
3:3 does, but the downside is to IV inheritance
so apparantly gallade is becoming more popular in ou
I saw a few peeps running agility/knock off/psycho cut/sacred sword gallades
seems to do terra psychic or dark
In singles? I know in doubles gallade is seen as an amazing dondozo/Tatsugiri check
Either ways, dondozo’s popularity has to be in the dumpster this week in doubles
Meanwhile gholdengo has like 70% rep or something
gonna need to get a gholdengo counter
Gholdengo is cool and all, but the real menace imo is Meowscarada
She’s too fucking good
I’ve seen Meowscarada 1 tap semi bulky garchomp
I was like nah, that’s crazy
Also starting to be a really huge fan of grass tera ceruledge
with flash fire it can easily become a menace
and cover weakness
it also works on armarouge but he’s unfortunally not that good
Armarogue was really popular to begin the format, but ceruledge is just better imo. That bulk up set snowballs so easily, and even without it, ghost/fire is better offensively than psychic/fire
his speed is miserable compared to the other ou pokemon
He’s solid as a 2nd trick room setter, but that’s his peak niche rn imo
so you either use scarf and pick a god and pray you are faster or die
That’s the issue, there’s so many other Pokémon I rather put a scarf on
Don’t get me wrong though, his move pool is insane
And it could one day emerge as more of a meta threat
But right now, he’s just eh
If you have armarouge I feel like your team has to be built around it
Yeah, things aren’t set in stone
Last week everybody was complaining about murkrow
Today I feel as if murkrow is kinda 1 dimensional

someone made a fanart of paradox gastrodon
oh yeah people are using grimmsnarl more frequently
and its no joke he’s a pretty heavy hitter
Yeah I actually think the build that doesn’t rely on screens is more annoying than the one that does
I’m also a huge fan of water tauros
i have yet to find a fire tauros to trade for a water tauros
got the paradox pokemon from violet though
too bad they can’t be used
Damn y'all too?
Gholdengo really running up all over gen 9
It’s fine though, I don’t think gholdengo is really unfair
I love all these fan designs
Yeah ghold has counter play, steel is not a great offensive type
Rotom wash goated as usual
It's just stupid that abilities are visible
like okay, item and tera? sure
Abilities and Spreads should have been the 2 things that remained anonymous
tera doesn't matter as much imo
because you never know what I'm going to tera in a game to game basis
amoongus becomes so much worse with this change imo
A ton of Pokemon straight up become unviable
you going to bring amoongus into an opposing team that has a grass tera lead?
Clodsire is dead now too
well clodsire was never really real in doubles
my biggest worry is that one of two things is going to happen
either A) the meta will become very monotonous due to people just cycling between the 12-15 safest pokemon
or B) people are going to 5head themselves upon seeing their opponents teams, leading to some very non-optimal plays and as such very sloppy matches to watch
Thinking some Chinese ones, or Japanese if I can remember what they were
Fuecoco’s jp name ‘Hogator’ is japanese ‘fire’ and alligator
That cool or basic
I got to master ball with orthworm
he got 4 KOs in my rank up game
time to switch up the team, i really want to try hail stuff
and perish song wisp altaria
I thought they changed hail to snow
true, snow stuff *
i played the same team 3 times in a row with different players
torkoal/lilligant/sylveon etc
Still need to wait like 20 days for my Scarlet to arrive…
Golduck in French is Akwakkwak
If alolan ninetails gets released this Gen, snow becomes VERY scary
(Snow yeah?)

Scyther be like:
"So, whatcha in for?"
I don't exactly enjoy Smogon tiers, but Little Cup is pretty alright
did they ever free Scyther for LC?
that said, abomasnow has been surprisingly good in snow due to the def buff
yes and it lost to flittle as a psychic type lol
Abomasnow is also great vs amoongus teams (granted, what isn’t this Gen)
It’s funny because amoongus def becomes stronger once paradoxes and ruinous Pokémon are freed
whenever i see a future paradox mon it still triggers me that they all have to be Iron Something... there is a lot of lost potential.
do we even know why all the future ones are mechanical ?
Wait till the dlc, that question might have a cool answer
i would hope so.
so many doggo in paldea
Man the trade code system is AWFUL
I miss the GTS
Love people trying to rip me off with a regular Tauros
I'm terrified to attempt the legendary trade
And half the time is just your own game version
@vagrant steppe I keep running into weed cats when I want a duck
There's numbers for those at least
I used the number
00010007, all weed cats
maybe I'll just breed another fuecoco and do fuecoco for quaxly
I challenged one of the best Pokémon players to a competitive battle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

That Wolfey team is very pog
Aaron playing super standard
sneaking in the will-o-miss in aaron's introduction lol
I was one of the big believers in quak, but I think he might be better than even I initially thought
I completely forgot that it got moxie
A horde of Vespiquen sounds terrifying
i use quaquaval
he’s very good
i just need to get abiity patch
its been kinda hard to get one
got a shiny!
I failed the fire encounter sandwich, had title up, sparkling up, and fire catch level 3
but saw the squire and was like "eh, shiny is a shiny"
then looked around some more, another squire
i failed when i was trying to catch a shiny dratini

and i forgor to turn off auto save
Scovillain seems like an actually decent grass type for sun teams
OH HECC A CHILI POKEMON!
Mainly because it doesn’t die to ember in the sun
At least I’m going to assume it references the Scoville Scale
Yes
It evolves from a pure grass type via fire stone
And has a signature move called spicy extract
These stats on a grass/fire type that can have chlorophyll, insomnia, or moody
Just you wait until the starmobiles become obtainable
Well Filter is
Filter is a crazy ability yeah
Filter with that typing would theoretically be amazing
It just has shitty stats
Give us Caph Starmobile
Honestly revavrooms stats aren’t even bad they just aren’t anything special
Especially when it gets to learn fuckin shift gear
I feel like getting to learn shift gear period helps a ton
That moves literal only downside is that only one good Pokémon learns it
Revavroom I think would actually make really good use of shift gear
I find it funny how the first time I make a shiny sandwich, I ended up getting 2 birbs
literally feeding bread to the local birbs
Shift Gear is one of those moves that the mon having it just would be absurd, or just doesn't need it
Or well, it used to be such a case
Magearna and Toxitricity are usually more at home throwing around their big sp. atk's
Legitly if revavroom just had 13 more spd, it would be a great support poke. You get taunt, haze and parting shot access
Speaking of engines
Wrote some entry on a regional exclusive Fire/Steel type Blaziken.
Valkyrie my corvisquire I caught earlier is training to support in tera raids
btw I checked, she has a mark
You guys think the star mobiles will be a dlc thing?
Like not the full star mobile but like, a tricked up revaroom that copies the typing and abilities of the star mobiles a la rotom tranformation
Valkyrie the Sociable
"Encased in scrapped engine parts, this regional form of Blaziken uses these engines to jet forward at incredible speeds."
Now I gotta come up with a good exclusive move for it... hmm
Fitting~
After all, even the tiniest scrap has value!
Also, Gear Shift on this kind of mon would be absurd
And that's likely with or without Speed Boost, even
Of course now I gotta think up other regional formes for starters.
I had some idea for Feraligatr and it ending up as a Water/Electric type So basically, Lagiacrus, but I'm drawing a blank on a grass-type
Serperior could work, i think
Ooooh, good idea
I could have Serperior like, actually become a sort of winged serpent and maybe give it a flying or dragon subtype
give it stab draco meteor + contrary
Huh, I found out that the game will lag and put you on a random background if it can't render an evolution
It usually happens in places you can't have your mons out in the first place, such as indoor areas.
