Moon stone is weird as fuck
Places like Mt. Moon, Meteor Falls, Mt. Coronet, Mt. Hokulani, etc...
It is possibly just a "fairy stone"
But like
The Nidos use it
The case for Nidoran is basically put, the whole jump from Nidorino/Nidoina is akin to like, lycanthropy or something.
Ohh makes sense
We do have a yugioh lycnathrop
They go from a weird but somewhat natrual four legged thing to a monster that walks on two
He sucks tho
WITH TITS
Abd spikes
And good movesets
As for why Jigglypuff and Skitty can evolve with it, the case is unclear.
Skitty’s case, cats and moon maybe?
Possibly.
@warm sky
I don’t see connection but that’s all I got
Part of me thinks that there just wasn't anything else they could have found fitting for a use for the Moon Stone for RSE
Most stones get unused a gen later anyways
Fire stone has 5 mons
Wait so, should we count Moon stone to be as Fairy-evolution stone?
Likely so
I’m kinda trying to make sense to which stones mostly fits into which type better
A lot of moves that have something to do with the moon are fairy-type, such as Moonlight and Moonblast.
Not Moongeist Beam though, that's something else entirely.
Nah
It's weird as fuc
Only tangibly related, in any case
Sun stone not making this any easier…
Moon mon not fairy
Just as likely that the Shiny stone can be considered as such.
But even that has some other cases.
Yeah I wasn’t expecting this to work too, oh well
Stones dropped the type idea in gen 1
Really weird
Shiny Stone is closer to Fairy
Dawn Stone is just for the gender evos
Oh yeah, Dawn stone works wth Froslass
My mind thinking something like Dawn=fighting cause gallade
Sun is like Grass 2.0
Dusk works with both ghost and dark right
I think so yea
Okay yeah the stone gimmick makes me having a headache
Basically
Fire is fkre
Water watah
Thubder thunda
Relevant for only gen 1
Moon is 5 specific mons
Sun is some plants
Dusk is some ghosts and a dark
Dawn is the gender evos
Imagine they make a stone for rock, ground and steel types
why do there need to be so many stones
most of them have like 2 or 3 pokemon they evolve
This Pokemon is a must for your team in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Paldean Wooper is one of the newest pokemon introduced into Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. It is a Ground/Poison type that can do many powerful things on your pokemon team!

da woop
actually most are 4 mons
average is 4.3 mons per stone
i feel like they should probably use them more
4.4 if we wanna count the nidos
as seperate
less if you don't count the retcons
like nosepass using a thunder stone in pla
This would be cool tbh
I do hope some of the new mons use a stone
imho, I feel each gen should have a few stone evos
Like 4 at the least
you forgot the 50% daily “DAE hate gen 6/7/8???”
whoops responded to the wrong comment, you get the point tho
Yea
Don’t worry, once 9 comes out, 6 will be considered “widely loved” and 7 will be considered a “sleeper hit”
This is already happening btw
It happens every new gen
Yep
I remember when 5 wasn’t very liked
Man I was there for 5
5 was by far the most hated gen when it came out
Gen 5 is the “tOsS FoRmaT” of pokemon gens
“Why did you have 2 sequels instead of 1? Greedy game freak killing the game”
And also toss format and also bad comp format
Honestly at this point I'm getting tired of remakes.
Actual sequels or something are something I look forward to
I don’t remember if 4 was too hated but I do remember people not liking 4 because it wasn’t 3 and because there were too many legends
Also likely felt very sluggish compared
3 was hated because we didn’t go back to kanto, which was
No, people disliked 3 because you couldn’t transfer up pokemon from RBY/GSC
But 3 and 4 were on the whole very popular still
Yeah, that was likely a big rub against it
5 was the one with a significant pushback
was 5 weather wars?
it was
but most people don't care about the comp metagame
so that wasn't the reason for the pushback
more due to the dex lock
i never cared enough to go capture the Tapus post-game anyways so they don't matter to me
and comp is different from in-game experience so i can differenitate the 2
Altho the handholding is an actual issue that makes replaying gen 7 extremely tedious
"dude i know what a camera is i just want to catch some mons man!"
To make some mons harder to get
Some of these are good
Some are Sunflora
I think my least favourite Alolan form is probably the ice Gen 1's
Don't talk shit about the coolest alolan forms
I really liked the Totem idea
and i absolutely abhor A-Raticate
Felt the gym theme was a bit stale and liked that they shook it up
thankfully they did retain the Kahunas as "semi-gym leaders"
anyways I think stone evos are fine but there needs to be a Link Cable or equivalent in every game going forwards
if all i had to fight were totem battles it would get old real quick
PLA did too
PLA did too
I have not played PLA but honestly if I got my hands on it I'd grind that shit so much Volo seems like a Youngster
only reason Arceus had link cable was cuz it didn't really have compatability with other games at the time
idt Link Cable's gonna return unless they make another standalone game like that again
It's honestly sad how Pokemon seems to be going down the "esport game" pipeline but PLA seems like a nice mix to it
- Most of the cast in the games, and including in the anime too. Half of them didn’t even get into the anime, and a bunch others got no development to character at all and were pretty much placeholders in the anime.
The sole savior for this was Twilight Wings for Nessa, Alister, Bea. Generations gen 8 episode also gave the only bit I cared about Leon.
-
Hop in SwSh, and it still wasn’t well done at all. He’s just the one that got next to any decent development. In anime, it was probably Alister.
-
Piers is my favorite character from SwSh, and Volo from any of the gen 8 games.
-
Volo. Despite being the same base, he is much more interesting than Cynthia.
I think nowadays they will just add the evos in the wuld
I don't mind them visually, just conceptually
I mean in LGPE I guess they are cool
All the alolans are
Not sure if any are good there tho
Especially the ice atuff
Stuff*
Compared to Galarian, which I think I like 1 Galarian Pokemon
I didn’t care for alolan pokes at all
Actually 2
Save for like ninetails
Slowpoke family & Farfetch'd
Much more liked Galarians than Alolan
I think I disagree with legendaries getting regional variants
that doesn't gel with me
I agree with that, but I still liked stuff such as Darm, Rune, sirfetched, weezing, Slow fam and whatnot
Both ice alolan lines are great
Rune & Weezing are ok, not disliked
Really don't like the Ponyta, Stunfisk
Darm I accept as ok too
Mr Rime sux
Didn’t care for sandslash at all
My favourite Alolan is probably Dugtrio
I completely forgot A-Dugtrio is a thing
Like that’s the thing, the number of things I liked in galar stuff is more than 1 or 2 families. Even if the lows sucked bad like mr rime, most of the Alolan I just forget or give a big “meh” about
Dugtrio and ninetales are probably it for me
Still don't understand why A!Exeggutor is a dragon tho
Dragon Fruit and stuff
Pokedex entry seems to pin it on "It just is"
Would be an interesting flair to add to the design
maybe instead of the default body, a dragonfruit-shaped one
would be neat & tie in thematically
Is someone holding a Greavard suicide?

Why does trapinch feel like a totally different Pokémon from vibrava and flygon? It has a 100 physical attack stat and it drops when it evolves to vibrava then goes BACK to 100 at flygon.. wtf? Also it changes abilities entirely. A sheer force flygon sounded cool until you learn it can only have levitate as an ability
It’s an antlion?
Yes
Clay down! Palpitoad and Krokorok were easy as shit, although Excadrill did give us some worry
https://aegide.github.io/ so found this, I think I made a cursed item by accident instead of a pokemon
that looks like a particularly edgy digimon
Paldean aegislash
this looks like it could be from some pokemon knockoff released exclusively on mobile
Yeah, Antlions are weird
The one most are familiar with are just how they start. They eventually can grow wings and fly.
It also explains Trapinch being very sluggish, it's not a chaser. It typically does what most antlions do; dig a pit and wait for things to fall in.
They're also weirdly named: They aren't ants, but they have the name cause they prey on ants.
So like the much on the nose anteaters, then
at least it gets stats upon evolution looks at scizor
also
larvesta is a physical attacker

Hoopa, what did you do
His worst
I love this series of art so much

why are they buff in a weird way
it does not help that they don't get much taller
Especially Lillie
and why the Crocs
Because he wanted to make her a swole surfer girl I guess
I don't hate it, but they just look so off
Lillie is realistic enough
Do wish her hair represented Lusamine's a little
Selene was an attempt to connect her to Kukui I guess?
Or because they really want Lillie to be gay?
Like I think Elio would totally adopt Kukui's style rather than Selene, who would probably just get on Burnet's
Selene looks mid 20s while Lillie looks mid 30s
~~ that's when you learn to draw without learning anatomy~~
ADHD and a psychotic mother
The funny thing is in this artists time skip their both 23
Nah I meant Selene
Wait wtf has canon adhd
Ye
Like they don’t literally say she has it
But it would make sense
(It would also explain some parts of her characterization in the manga lmao)
In masters they describe her as easily distracted
My b I said ADHD
Which is their explanation for her just staring off into space a lot
Idk what condition she has
ADHD wouldn’t be entirely inapplicable
did they really try to give an explanation for the gen 7 MC's empty expressions?
Odds are they just tried to attach a quirky thing to her and randomly landed on that
Could be
@random stream I found a Sassy Ferroseed in Chargestone Cave
and I have Rocky Helmet
do I just winner now
Congrats nyaruhodo
doesn't even get Leech Seed
Yup in Masters
Masters is awfully meta sometimes
A new pokemon has been discovered in Go!
A brand new Pokémon?
A new Pokémon has been added with a file named "pmMystery" inside the file is it referred to as pm1080 so Pokémon Number 1080. Only 3D assets were added, no 2D yet to see.
What could this mysterious new creature be?
2487

Wonder who it could be ||was in SV trailer this is the coin ||mon
Mouth
look behind the UI
Honestly looks like it’s just arctozolt with its head turned to the side
Oh no Meltan 2.0
Inb4 the evolved form is op and not available through the game itself
This thing looks like the reddit icon
Oh y'all already seen the reddit mon
Redditor mon when
Thanks for the gold, kind stranger
These guys keep looking more and more fake
btw about reddit gold friendd
||supposed to be the spiritomb of the game, good luck and its a ghost type with an evolution||
oh god its coming out in 2 weeks and barely looks finished
Oh god it's coming in 2 weeks and somehow it's not the most doomed over game this year
thats genuinely sad tbh
Frontiers is getting more shit on
Only in gaming will a fandom get a string of mid games and doom over it for like an entire decade regardless of what other games release
Y'all lose hope so fast 💀
yea most everyone i have seen have done a 180 on it
been seeing way more ppl turn around on it
better to go in with low expectations than to have hope then have to cope
theres been a good chunk of games released just this year that ppl liked a lot
but crazy thing that people have also developed standards in regards to games
Most of the negativity at this point is the pop-in
It’s like the PLA of Sonic, where the game looks a bit primitive but it tries new stuff
So far most comments from people who attended the demo have been good stuff, especially on controls
Carrying that over to video game chat from here with Sonic
As far as negativity goes, seen a lot more for SV than Frontiers
Both SV and Frontiers are being presented much better than their predecessors
i agree
(Which continues the rhetoric of Forces being the SwSh of Sonic)
the difference being that sv does not deviate enough and has anyone with early copies saying bad/meh things about the game
compared to frontiers getting more hype from ppl who played it
Agree there
Scarlet Violet looks like a minor improvement to a game series that not only has been very stagnant and slow at improving, but even regressed with some aspects over the years
“Scarlet Violet looks better than SwSh” is the nicest I can be to it, but SwSh is a low ass bar in most areas
Accessibility to Pokémon and competitive in SwSh and raid battles becoming a precedent are about all I can give that game
But now, there is talk of some QOL possibly regressing in SV, namely in the unknown of how Bottle Caps are got and egg breeding mechanics
Tera also took what I thought was a much better mechanic than Dynamax on announcement and proceeded to bloat tf out of it
Leave it to gamefreak to randomly remove QoL features each gen
Love that people differently have their hands on the game right now, but no one wants to be the guy that gets sued
Wait how are we saying the game doesnt do anything new, when it literally takes stuff people liked from PLA lol
Pokémon fans will never be pleased
Just be aware: There will be so many screenshots from me to here once it releases.
I'm gonna detail the hell outta my adventures.
you might want to create an imgur album for them
Ah, good idea.
since im sure you dont want to spam
Yeaaah, I did get reminded not to like, drown out some channels with screenshots at one point. Yeaah.
It happens though, I just find so much things to talk about.
And yeah, no fooling about there being no pleasing people.
Already I'm gonna make Raz's day by catching a Girafarig. Never truly had one on a journey before, so I'm curious to see how it goes
it’s Pokémon fans they ALL think the game should be aimed at them specifically and they ALL have something to complain about
people got upset when they make more adult stories, people got upset when they made things more aimed at kids
people got upset when they shook up the traditional formula, people got upset when they kept things the same
it’s a massive fanbase which is largely way older than the target dynamic- no matter what they do someone will always be angy
Like to be honest, why even follow the news if you’re just going to be miserable unless they do a full franchise reboot on unreal engine 26 and is on an actual platform that isn’t just a slightly better 3DS
i keep up entirely for the new mons + designs
Doesn't matter, there shall be salt.
So really, it's a losing proposition for the fanbase in any case.
That being said, such vitriol really is a small portion of the fanbase, and isn't exactly a very huge chunk.
i also do think theres a lot of forced positivity regarding slight improvements when it comes to games
It can be bad on both ends, yeah. People condeming others for buying it, and on the other end you got someone buying additional copies for each person who proclaims they aren't gonna buy it.
I mean I think the best thing to do is just
Ignore any online discussion area for pretty much any major game
Unironically a good thing to do.
A lot of gaming subreddits for instance tend to hyperfocus on and magnify any flaws and moan about them til kingdom come
A lot of time the complaints themselves are valid even! But the subreddits make them awful by constantly circlejerking them for karma
Agreed
r/deltarune for example
Monster Hunter is pretty alright
Every fanbase should be like the God of War fanbase
What’s the God of War fanbase like?
Exactly
I thought God of War was stupid popular 🤨
They’re quiet, never bash their games, they know the games are great, but they’re not in your face about it
Sick
Man, they must be gigachads.
I do think healthy critique is useful but yeah a lot of times people just go straight into bashing
They just meme Kratos to death
I am kinda disappointed we have t gotten any reveals though, my anticipation is killing me
a lot of times people just go straight into bashing
so basically every fanbase ever, including this channel : ^)
It's two weeks ahead. It's likely that we just aren't gonna get any news until the games themselves are released.
Case in point, back for Sword/Shield, we finally got news on what Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble evolve into... about a day after launch.
Nintendo must have put out an email to anybody with an early copy citing some serious repercussions for leaks
I can’t remember a Pokémon game ever being this secretive this close to release
Truth be told, I really hate the current trend on 'leaks' and such
To each their own, I feel
I get that keeping your product secure and free from prying eyes is tough work with so many ways to crack in or whatever, but there's always an influx of such things with a new games, especially like this.
Some people want to know everything ahead of time, some people want to preserve a surprise
I am very excited for gen 9 entirely so I can play showdown with new things
Don't get me wrong, wanting to know what the future holds is alright, I get it. Just, I feel a sense of shame knowing that a lot of hard work can get put into ensuring no leaked details reach anyone's eyes and ears for a game, and not a moment later it gets unveiled.
I mainly want to know for comp purposes. I’m trying to make a push for VGC this gen and would love to know some comp tools we’re getting
I really just refrain from looking to such leaks, rumors and such out of respect, and partially cause I just want to be surprised.
I’m cautiously optimistic that it might be what they call “fun”
If they haven’t fucked it up
I liked XY and SM but they were definitely megaflawed
Honestly, swsh are the only mainline games where i'm questioning if i should play or not
Can't hurt to try.
Like, as much flawed as gens 6 and 7 were, they "stood out", in a way
i'd say try them, if you're also willing to grab the dlc since both of them add a decent amount to the base game
but i enjoyed it overall
I mean yea, the pokemon formula, for better or worse, is almost perfect as an entertainment source
As much controversy as there was with the expansion pass, I still massively prefer something like that to just a new game in the series that barely does much different for the games, save for additional content.
I heavily enjoyed swsh and even more the nuzlockes for them
I just feel like gen 8 doesn't offer much aside from that
Looking at you, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
Sword/Shield are pretty much perfect for VGC and battles.
swsh were the first games I’ve skipped since I got into the series back in gen 3 and I didn’t feel like I missed anything
Possibly the easiest point someone can pick up and go with battling, either online or in the Victory Station mode.
did hear that Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra were good tho
actually LGPE too but I think a lot of people don’t count them
Yea, that's what i'm trying to say
SwSh just feels... bland
Crown Tundra was mostly acclaimed, but a lot of people found Armor rather lacking
SV looks like it has potential
[Insert British People Joke Here]
I’m cautiously optimistic
Swsh was like the easiest bridge into comp play, which is what makes them stand out to me
Like Armor's single biggest contribution was the Cram-o-matic
It was the QOL for comp holding up Armor
Only feature i really miss from any other JRPG are the difficulty modes
Also ngl
The lack of interaction between tpic and the community makes people more likely to be pessimistic about the games
Like, the whole lack of daycare thing
"We may be potentially make competitive infinitely less accessible which was one of gen 8's biggest improvements, or it may change nothing at all, either way, we are not telling you"
Which looks like a really avoidable issue
Ash definitely is gonna lose
And only then will people say it was a bad league
Nah viewerships been dipping since cynthia
holy shit I was getting complacent when I reached Mistralton bc I hadn’t lost a pokemon since Castelia
set off for the Celestial Tower and in quick succession I’ve lost my starter, Deerling, and Emolga
this has pumped the brakes massively on “BW locke so ez”
(All lost to crits bc of course they were, Pignite and Emolga from full and Deerling from being Pursuit trapped)
any game pre-gen 6 automatically has more difficulty cuz of Crit being 2x rather than 1.5x
I lost my Ducklett as well in Celestial Tower
Retooling the team won’t be super difficult since I’ve got some good options in reserve that don’t need too much leveling
except the best options are mf Leavanny, Gurdurr, and Simisage
all weak to Skyla
no Electric Types?
I’ve only caught a Blitzle and traded for the Emolga
Both have been lost
I’m really pissed about losing Emolga bc it was to the trainer with a Simipour on Route 7
Shock Wave failed to kill by the slightest sliver of HP bar and then a Scald crit in the rain took out Emolga
||The DLC apparently has "pkhex-like features" (Source: Khu) so if anything it's gonna make it more accesible.||

Justice for the b o y
Nido queen below nidoking is objectively wrong
sea slug friend made the list, and thumbnail
Krok is also a bit debateable tbh
Imagine if we got something like Yaranzo as an evo of the coin mon?
also apparently the coin mons Japanese name is Konpo
More Mimic mon? Like Voltorb and Amogus?
Yaranzo~
I forget if they were were mimics or convergent evo
Pokémon Yellow says they camouflage themselves, but Pokémon Crystal says they're manmade. Pokémon Sapphire says they're descended from actual Pokeballs.
Voltorb*
Hisuian Voltorb is mysterious, but said to coincidentally resemble a Pokeball acorn
I swear Pokedex never consistent with how Pokemon is depicted sometimes
Foongus is a mystery as to why they look like Pokeballs, but Amoongus uses theirs as a lure
Also Foongus produces poison powder to deter people who want to pick it up, and Amoongus's poison powder will grow into more Foongus
So that suggests to me that Foongus is a mimic

Mimic that actually just bunch of fungi moving & controlling object is neat concept ngl
Tho prolly harder to pull of since chest doesn't have nerve system, only hinges
I like the idea that a mimic is like a hermit crab
Will eventually come to infest a chest
Either that or the mimic revives the long-dead wood, so it can sense touch
I see owo
Also you can turn off the ping, it's not like I'm going anywhere few mins after my last comment òwó
I thought I did, sorry.
Growlithe and Houndoom sharing an ecological niche, I don't think so.
I’m more bothered seeing the Magnemite lines in a hot desert
Nothing but the ground around, combine with Sun giving them heat waves
Soooo, 12 days before the game release and me finally get to meet the new bug baby
Sorry, babies
Genuinely curious if they gonna do a special reveal for|| Kamen Rider mon,|| I would love to see what they do for it
Doubt it

Imagine it though. ||CGI footage of the prevo battling some powerful foe and then suddenly it starts evolving mid-battle and then they go "to be continued" and then the day after they show part 2 of the battle with the Kamen rider mon ending it with a mighty kick attack to the powerful enemies face||
I like that
Yeah but we know how easily some mons become unpopular
Even with hype built up
People dislike Grubbin?
My only gripe with Vikavolt is I don't like the magnetic field mechanic all that much
I rarely ever use slow Bug-types (except for Scizor i guess) so i haven't interacted with Vikavolt nearly enough to have any gripes with it
I feel like Vikavolt would make more sense as a fast, hard-hitter
could have gotten Speed Boost instead if they wanted it to be slow at first
Well, that’s certainly one way to get one of the Pokémon in unite

Btw, Vikavolt’s Pokédex said it flys around really fast, despite the speed stat it has
havent been playing as much but I'll try to
It flies so fast that it looks like it's staying still
ah yes the King defense
vikavolt should have an ability where it is always trickroom while its out
but nah, Slowlola gave most their mons pitiful speed
Give Vikavolt massive SpATK and massive Speed you cowards
you really missed the opportunity to say aslowla
so where's the reveal of the reddit mon

When the trailer has VAs but not the game
Also inb4 this is Melm 2.0
Gonna say possibly better
Yeah no this is Melmetal 2
Seems that one form is SV exclusive and the other is Go exclusive
and evolves by gathering 999 coins it seems
changes form*
IT LOOKS SO GOOD
it's possible gimmighoul might've been designed by Sanosuke Sakuma, making that her first pokémon
she's done some TCG art and designed a few gen 8 trainers
also did work on the digimon tcg lmao
I'm assuming we won't know what the new form is?
Nobody has been reported catching roaming forms
Anyway I'm just gonna say it. I hate this design
Don't care for the design, certainly don't care for melmetal mechanics
It's a Reddit spoon holding a coin
But since this might be a person's /first/ official pokémon design I don't want to sound too rude.
also, its a collect a bunch mon
zzz
Hope you liked spiritombs!
The idea of a money Mon could've been so much more
ESPECIALLY FOR A SPANISH REGION
And they just went "err yeah he just holds and collects the coin lmao"
SwSh already had a money mon too
YOU KNOW
Meowth GMax
Like come on
Meowth is a good money mon
Spain's obsession gold coins and shit
When a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a Bug-, Dark-, or Ghost-type damaging move, its Speed is increased by one stage. (or gets intimidated)
i think it's cute
Oh no it doesn't have to be
Oh damn it gets a speed boost when hit by 2 weaknesses? Damn OP
a 2d flat character with dowsing rod attenae
Also I bet the roaming form is totally GO only
Like I guarantee the antenna were after thoughts
I would've been more okay if it was just straight up an actual mimic
hope it has bulk, its gonna need it
And it has Speed Boost
im sad it's not ghost/fairy cause it looks like it would be lol
you think to small SMT
I get the joke on having Rattled for the ability of a pokemon that can rattle a coin jar, but Rattled is not worth it
what if you terastalize it
When the new mon gets a shit ability and is "slow and bulky" with 70 speed and defences
just kind of, alright ig
Inb4
Steel?
it looks bulky
Also those are 3 types still
It's a literal flat design
how does it look bulky
My main thing is like... What does this Mon do, how does it affect the ecosystem
Who tf cares what it looks like. that doesn't ever do a good job reflecting stats
i feel like they should have made him ghost fairy, make it a fae that steals coins :v
And it becomes 100 of itself
Yes
I love this idea
The same way Aegislash does
Can the go exclusive mon pls not be good this time
Inb4 it doesn't have Poltergeist
This has been a complaint for me for a while
"These Gimmighoul hide inside sturdy treasure chests. While this provides them with a solid defense, the treasure chest’s weight causes Gimmighoul to move slowly,"
this suggests high def low speed
There are Pokémon that just don't make sense even internally
ghosts exist to make more ghosts
Ghost breeding
Also to create cute Hex Maniacs
Like what?
Who cares about half these mons anyways lmao this seems like Alola in terms of comp
Carried by whatever legendary we get and some specific mon
Well what else is it doing
They are gonna protect the chests
There are exactly 3 Pokemon that, at their best, use Rattled as their ability:
Clamperl (Because its other ability is shit, Shell Armor)
Ledyba (Because its other ability is swarm, on a pokemon with crap attacking stats)
Poochyena (Because Quick Feet sucks)
...chests full of coins no where would accept as legal tender?
Based
Inb4 one gets like
A really shitty one
And the others get 2 good ones
Sprigatito with that "Swift Feline" that changes it's typing
its grass's turn to get the Protean gimmick :^)
i disagree, quick feet > rattled
In 2 gens we will laugh at these guys getting the protean stuff like we do with Blaziken-Emboar sharing a type
GF likes not making typings good
The only decent thing I see coming from this is if Pay Day doesn't return as a TM
(Yes, Pay Day was a TM in Let's Go)
If only the cat wasn’t the worst looking starter I’d be down for it having protean
Like at least the duck has a hat
Why are we making Pokémon with no distinguishable features from a regular animal
Probably also because people are sick of furries
Because last gen the problem was them being too humanoid
I mean that's been a problem for 3 gens
Scorbunnys line is the only good one that gen
Yeah that’s not a new issue
And yes, it is still a problem
Starter wise I mean
Also what if the weed cat ends up being humanoid, then what?
oh wait ||apparently gimmighoul has an evo outside of it's two forms?||
Yeah
hah
Well I already would have gone with Fuecoco if I bothered playing so I don't have that problem
It becomes like ||a golden man|| apparently
i hope it becomes part fairy
It ||fuses with the coins||, I guess
I’m leaning fuecoco or the duck
Fuecoco gives me typhlosion vibes
what's that got to do with anything?
"It looks like it will be a villain pokemon"
Is about as convincing as
"It looks tanky"
as in not convincing at all
hey it's description says "These Gimmighoul hide inside sturdy treasure chests. While this provides them with a solid defense, the treasure chest’s weight causes Gimmighoul to move slowly,"
so who knows
They also said Vikavolt was a fast pokemon
true
none of that matters til you see the stats
43 is fast trust
Gimmighoul is just going to evolve into the one piece
actually rereading it, it actually says it's acrobatic and not so much fast but yeah youd expect something acrobatic to be fast
THE ONE PIECE-
I mean you don’t need a leaker to tell you that
Even better if somehow the roaming form is a speedy attacker with a steel move that has ghost stab
Or some shit
Imagine getting Fast Melm
Also what was the last go exclusive Pokémon?
Oh shit
Wait really? I have home, where’s my melmetal
Wasn't the meltan event timed
Pretty much
Nowadays you need lets go to reliably get Meltan candies
I was thinking about downloading go this week since I work in the city anyways
It has to be the first time but I am pretty sure this was in right as Go comlatibility started
Imagine being one of the people that grinded it to 500 only to see them give a better Melmetal later
Pretty sure it's gmax move is good too
I legitly never knew till now melmetal had a gmax
Gimmighoul is the Collectable coin pokemon in scarlet & Violet! Introducing Gimmighoul, the Coin Chest Pokémon! These pokemon make you collect a bunch of coins during your adventue in Paldea. I saw this pokemon during my preview! This is the new pokemon trailer for gimmighoul

Roaming ones you cant fight
Woah what the
New mon?
but what do you do with all these coins?
Tbf, I do enjoy Pokémon with dumb evolution requirements that don’t include transferring
yes zane, 49 minutes ago we got a trailer
you cant catch roaming
I was watching DonBrothers earlier 😂
eh I can accept a ghost type not being rational Jot. They're spooky magical creatures
Not yet
No, you literally cant
It was leaked long before this event tok
Too*
Not yet
You can't make them stand there in Go and have me believe I can't catch that MF
you cant give a birthday hat pikachu in Go and have me believe I cant have it in the main games, oh wait
Okay this thing looks cute
They did make Go exclusives before however
You dont fight the roaming forms, thus you wont catch them
So you mean you have to transfer it through go
BUT chests give more coins anyways, good luck treasure hunting.
So the mimic rumor actually happened lmao
No
think of it like zygarde
Roaming forms are the cells
the chest is the playable version, your zygarde
So you collect the roaming ones, like Spiritomb in Legend?
Sort of
Roaming ones give you coins
chest ones give you more coins
you take these coins, and something happens
||You evolve the chest one with lots of coins||
Hmm
Wait…||that counts as the new and wacky evolution method doesn’t it||
yep
depending on the coin goal, I may use this mon on my ninja run playthrough
cuz dat boy pure ghost 😮
Sure that ||kind of method works, just don’t make it as not-likely-possible similar to Volcarona||
||1M coin for an evolution or something would be annoying||
probably 999 coins does something
People, are dumb
Ok Philly gave more info
So do you have to catch 999 of them?
I like it
when go give us something that isn't some kinda metal blob
like i don't hate it but it feels so outta place
It looks like a Ben 10 alien
Wow they really did a other melmetal Mon? Gross
Me with half the new designs
Hey those look creative at least
True
Combine this little guy with this digimon
The little guy would put them into his chest
Stuff them in
Maybe even chomp chest from Skylander
If they resist push them further in
So, ||we need to catch at least 99 of them
||
I can imagine people easily getting the chest mon’s shiny before getting that many lmao
I forgot of this mfer
Pee
Oh god they better shiny lock the coin form
You can kill them pretty sure
Assuming you get the max drop, || 999 divided by 50 equals 20-ish||

It's a good idea in theory, but Tera is never gonna be used that way
It's only ever gonna be used to make offensive STAB hitters better
Mainly 3x STAB Guts Facade Ursaluna
Wait
Ground barreskewda
With drill run
Now you can blow up even toxapex and dodge electricity
I think they did the math, and there's nothing in OU that survives both Ursaluna Facade and Earthquake with the option to put the 3x STAB on either
And no way to guess which one Ursaluna has access to until it happens
Ursaluna facade with guts and nothing else iirc 2 hits every single pokemon in ou
Ursaluna is a very scary wall breaker
The only reason to defensively teratype is to meme on people when your offensive tera type already styles on most competition
Or, to fulfil a double battle gimmick
Since nothing can switch in safely lol
There's such little penalty for teratyping offensively that it's a question of "why should I bother defensively teratyping unless my team is steamrolling?"
There is another reason
That being for the defensive ones that doubles as offensive as well: see gyrados who can ddance then go into tera ground if someone tries to hit it with an electric move to get another free ddance (and then sweep with eq + waterfall)
that's like as offensive as a defensive teratype can get
Not to mention a massive throwback to Dynashit
Gyrados has a history of abusing these sort of mechanics lmao
Even with z moves
But you're losing out on 3x STAB
Protect usually feels like a rather powerful move in VGC, but with Tera it feels necessary af
Yeah, you've gotta buy yourself a turn
I'm not gonna be surprised when terra is banned by Smogon day 1
It will be suspect tested, but in its current offensive-crazy state it will get banned
Protect in Tera format is gonna be needed for scouting
No max moves make doing funny doubles stuff with it way harder
Yup, and with how hyper offensive Tera is, it'll just be worse I guess
Coalossal has no good rock move without Meteor Beam
Ready for 3 years of Ursaluna on every VGC team?
Tera substitutes having bulky survivability for even more offense immdeiately
Gengar with flying Tera
Literally nothing
You've gotta check the sweepers with anything you're terraing defensively
The biggest breath of fresh air is that Tera doesn't have a max airstream equivalent
don’t forget Arcanine for the first two
Wait Basculeigon might be the one mon that can check Ursaluna
And it has Adaptability meaning it gets 4.2x STAB off a terra
Where's Summer
Avalugg
Yeah that fucker better be shiny locked then
how fast is Basculegion
70
Inhale* boi
It can't be facade checked
70 is the most depressing speed tier
Bisharp do be depressing
60 is a pretty depressing one too
43 is also depressing
43 is good
any speed tier between 55 and 70 is depressing tbh
80 is like mach 2 speed for gen 7
ursaluna at least has the bulk to survive it's speed
Not for a Pokémon that zips about
Ursaluna is bulky, so you've gotta out speed it and kill it before it facade sweeps your team

And Basculegion might be the only thing that you really can use to guarantee it does that
Does TR stand for Trash Rank
Trick Room Gen 4
inb4 gengar gets levitate back to stop ursaluna reign of terror
70 is the worst because it both simultaneously might as well be 0 but also that’s like 2/7 of your BST gone
VGC before the DLC was magical
Honestly we need it
The funnest time I had with Pokemon
We need SOMETHING to check Ursaluna
I wish we had it back
So Gengar with flying tera
And rn, it looks like there's all of nothing
Priority 7 move "If your opponent has Terastyled on you, set their health to 0"
Ursaluna has the freest meta we've ever seen
Castform?
It can answer EVERYTHING in the format
AG ursa let's go
Ah
Luna is going to AG if they don't outright ban Tera (like they will)
Ursaluna is gonna be guaranteed to be on EVERY VGC team tho
lmao
Well maybe not every, but it's gonna be a free slot
well I can't argue with those numbers
The slow gen 7 starters curse
Ah so he's fine then. He's been bad for 8 gens
how many mixed attackers does SwSh OU have
eviolite ursaring gonna be instaban from NFE
Man what a broken bear
i mean ursaring in general is probably too busted for NFE
So far from discussion I see, the best checks to Ursaluna all aren't in Gen 9 debut
Urshifu
Kartana
Volcanion
Eviolite Ursa is probably NU
quick feet and unnerve
But 3x STAB earthquake might still be enough to kill Basculegion
Triple Axel Banded Weavile cannot one shot Ursaluna, even after burn chip
well the important point is Legion is faster
cuz trying to defensively check Ursa is suicide
Legion is faster yeah, but can it one shot it
final gambit maybe
Man I like
Really don’t care about the new mons except the legends so far
65
omfg
hurricane time baybe

you gotta invest speed into Peli to kill Ursa with... what would be best, weather ball?
does Pelipper learn Weather Ball
Specs Pelipper meta?
Specs peliper does 160% min with weather ball iirc
Pelipper as the answer would be so fucking funny
Can switch into EQ and threaten Ursa
Wow Pelipper is gonna save us from the Ursaluna reign of terror

I’m assuming Tera is start of turn
Yes
Air Balloon H-Zoroark
How's ursaluna Vs urshifu calcs
Urshifu isn't in
Oh it isn't
Welp
Urshifu nearly dies switching in
But does it Otk tho
