SCP-783 is a mysterious and hostile entity that emerges every twelve years during the fall and winter months, targeting individuals who are alone indoors after sunset. Its presence causes buildings to warp and degrade, leading to fatal distortions of anything breaching the structure’s exterior.
Victims suffer grotesque bodily transformations—elongated limbs, twisted spines, and serrated appearances—yet many remain alive in vegetative states. Twenty-seven such individuals are currently on life support under Foundation care.
Due to the entity’s resistance to observation and intervention, containment efforts have escalated, with the town partially converted into Provisional Site-5. Locals avoid speaking of SCP-783, though a haunting playground rhyme hints at its legend:
There lived a crooked man, who made a crooked deal
He kept a crooked cane, and his catch in crooked creel
He stole a crooked child, who cried a crooked squeal
And that crooked little man was broken on the wheel
