i turned up the brightness settings, so maybe thats the issue

but im pretty sure there should be stars showing at least

and the ocean should exist

ok i turned off the light boost, it looks less weird but theres still no stars in the sky

There's a mod that significantly reduce the brightness of the skybox by default. Like max 25 % brightness.

I think it's Scatterer, you can change it in settings but only from Space Center screen.

Should be the setting that you access by the blue sphere icon.
