more engine
Lowers deltav
more fuel
also lowers deltav...
adding more fuel will never lower delta-v
this is in the atmosphere
adding more fuel will still, never lower delta-v
you also didn't mention this requirement
I mean, ill try
the solution is literally just: more
M O R E
What’s your top speed right now?
just over mach 5
That’s about the limit - any faster and you’ll burn
Going 10000 m/s in the atmosphere will cause you to burn up at any altitude
Why though?
10000m/s is ridiculous for anything that's not a jool-5 sitting at the pad
(Or a plane)
10,000 m/s is like, lunar re entry speed irl
Even in like RO it’s extremely dangerous and needs a solid descent profile and a lunar rated heat shield
You just aren’t going that fast other than the most serious of re entries
If you are anywhere but the upper atmosphere you will instantly burn up
It just isn’t going to happen, even with a properly designed plane. Nothing has the heat tolerance except heat shields and at that speed, the stock ones will likely reach their critical temperature and melt
Escape velocity beyond jool orbit
But if you’re in Kerbin’s atmosphere on the night side with a Kerbin-relative velocity of 10 km/s, you’re far past Kerbol escape velocity.
Yes
because im insane and im bored :/
Yeah, im just going to get a high apoapsis, face towards kerbin and burn my fuel until I run out or slam into the ground
With b9 and the fuel tank switch you can store cooling liquids in your wings, also i recommend opt for some thermonuclear aerospike scramjets, which don't require fuel in the atmosphere, but only go really fast at +15km altitude so you need some helper engines with conventional fuel to get off the ground. Also there's a mod Ive seen in a letsplay which lets you change the structural material of things so you can coat your entire plane in graphene ablator. If the nuclear engines don't provide enough thrust build a scram jet out of shockcones and an aerospike at the end
