Hey there. I thought I might share what steps I did to increase my fps. However keep in mind that it only is a workaround, you will most likely still suffer from those micro stutters/lags but the game itself will run a bit smoother. I was able to increase my fps from 30-60 to 80-145. Obviously I can only share what I can do with my graphics card and system. I run a 4070TI in Win11, so i can make use of frame generation. And obviously: It worked for me, on my system, doesn't mean it will automatically work for you. We could treat this thread like a platform to share other tricks to make it run smoother, but that is up to you guys and how much engagement there is.
For 4k Nvidia Series card:
- Change the game to Fullscreen and turn off V-Sync. Why? Windowed Mode seems to produce the best fps, but too be honest who wants those nasty bars? Fullscreen seems to produce steadier fps than borderless.
- Activate the Gaming Mode in Windows 11. Go to Settings > Gaming > If you can't find Farever in the game list add it manually > Set GPU preference to High Performance > Enable Optimization for windowed games.
- Right click Nvidia in the system tray > Open Nvidia Control Panel > Surround, PhysX > Set PhysX to CPU.
- Navigate to 3D Settings, one instance above Surround, PhysX > Add Farever manually > Scroll all the way down. Set both Threaded-Optimization and Vertikal Synchronisation to ON
- Double click on the Nvidia system tray icon to open the Nvidia app > Graphics > manually add Farever (select 3 points and 'Add a program')
- Set DLSS Override - Super Resolution to DLAA (100%) > Set Smooth Motion and Vertical Sync to ON
For 5k Nvidia or newer:
- Set DLSS Override - Frame Generation Mode to Fixed with any multiplier
- Set Smooth Motion to ON
Optional for any card:
Set a Max Frame Rate limit to about 90% of the optimized fps you are now getting to lift stress off your gpu.
