Characters like dinosaurs or ducks, sea otters and wolves… i think would be rlly cool and give players who have everything a chance to keep playing the game without getting bored and continue exploring the map

I'm actually not so sure about that. I had considered a "tortoise and the hare" dynamic, but I figured this could make people intentionally come last in races in order to get the skin

I think you're correct. The boundary could be less, like 5 or 10 races.
(Going by 100 races)
Considering a race could be about 20 seconds if done optimally, 100 races would mean a minimum of 2000 seconds / half an hour to acheive
On the other hand, a 10 race boundary would mean you would only need to spend 3-4 minutes grinding the race
I'm not really one for grinding things, but I realise other players will for the sake of completion
