A highly experimental dungeon! It's based around the newly added heart pickup. Basically, you have to endure being sliced and stabbed by toe cutters while you pick up hearts. There's also a section where you do a ton of backflips.

The lore is that your wife Jane Temple was trapped by the Trickster (from the House of Illusion dungeon) and was brainwashed into designing a maze of madness instead of a test of courage. You, the brave John Temple, must use the power of love and resilience to reach out to her and break the foul curse set forth upon her by the evil god.

Note: I did accidentally wallclip, but you don't need to do it to beat this dungeon! It is possible to finish this dungeon without glitches!

Just gave this a go, was able to clear it without any deaths! 😁 (And no, I didn't stumble into any weird clipping)

Cool experimental temple, managed to complete it without any deaths too, wasn't aware the space between the Toecutters was safe so that was cool to find out. In the later parts of the dungeon when the Toecutters aren't moving, how is that intended to be done? Cause I could only lock on backwards jump over them, wasn't sure if there was another way that I wasn't aware of? Either way, cool temple, enjoyed it 🙂

For the stationary toe cutters, the intended way is just to backflip over them. So yes, you did do it correctly.

I think I remember Akela mentioning that it wasn't meant to be possible and that at some point it was going to be changed, but I guess that's the point of the experimental temple. Looking forward to your next one!

Randomly jumped into this temple and didn't realize it was going to be so painful 😭 🤣

I did collect all the hearts in the final room though to make up for it :)

Nice! I wanted to balance it being painful, but also showcase how important hearts are.

And of course, there's the narrative theme being all about resilience and endurance.

I did this one the other day and forgot to comment on it. Ladder toe cutter was a very naughty thing to do, although I avoided it 😌
