To reawaken you need to beat the Statue Boss at the end of a double dungeon specifically in Leveling City. If a leveling city dungeon spawns, you can use a double dungeon rune to force the statue to spawn too.

If you're using weapons, yes. Blade tempest will hit all shadows at once, which is OP. Make sure you have stats with weapons as wwell. You're mixing shadows and weapons, just pick one or the other.
