Player level required to unlock licenses

I may have gotten too excited about the new workshop / custom books update and downloaded a LOT. I've been locked out for a level, got two more licenses, now it wants me to gain another level before letting me purchase any more. Once you get into the higher player levels, this is..... difficult lol. Is there any way I can "give back" licenses I own so I can use some of the new ones? Or is there another solution that isn't starting a new game and being careful with which licenses I choose from the get go? I don't want to lose my stores. 🙁

For now, if you've got a lot of workshop books, you can unsubscribe from them and the license you used on it will effectively be returned. If you subscribe to it again though, it will retain that you've bought its license already and count it again. We're discussing other ways to handle this for people who want to use a lot of workshop items without ruining things for people who don't want to use the workshop

Ooh what about like license charters? Where you could buy additional licensing slots, or unlock them for hitting certain goals that aren't level based

i think it's still good to gate the rate at which you can get new books. Personally if there wants to be a solution for people who bought a bunch of licenses when they were the only books there were, who now want a bunch of custom books without just starting a new game, I'd rather there just be a way to, when you have 0 books in stock or storage of a given title, "refund" that license and be able to use it on another book, so we can just swap in and out the ones we got.

I absolutely love the idea of active/inactive licenses like this

It could be coupled with sales trends, for folks who want to maximize profits in smaller stores etc

Though at the moment, I don't believe there -are- "sales trends" that way, or at least I don't think the game ever displays anything like that to you.

Also given you'd have to have 0 copies of the book in the store to refund the license, if you were wanting to flip things around like, daily/weekly you might also have to destroy a bunch of books which might make it harder to use that to min/max.

Is this what I have to do? as I am having this same exact issue and was excited to bring more of the custom books to my store. I haven't been able to unlock new books in a long while yet it keeps telling me that I can TT

I unsubscribed to all of the workshop books atm and it did let me unlock new books. if I readd the workshop books, will it lock me out again?
