#One tech/civic tree for the whole game

Not unique trees
It would also only be for planning and not something you could research
You mean not including unique tree. Agree.
I also think the randomness for what will get boosted with future tech should go away, I think with this you could be able to pick
I think you’re onto something here, excluding the unique trees.
What about techs and civics you don’t research before an age transition? Should they still be inaccessible?
agreed, I think it would also resolve some ambiguity around which bonuses do persist (eg. flanking in exploj and modern) and which dont (eg +yields on buildings, +combat strength) if you can look back on the previous era's trees and see what bonuses are still there
I had a similar thought about expanding out future tech/civic into future trees - each next-age tree recreated in this era, no masteries, shared but scaling costs, each boosts its repsective next age tech and an extra bonus on each node drawn from a limited pool of effects which help finishing any remaining goals in this age (extra great work slots, unlocking late tech tree wonders in the future civic tree and vice versa, etc.)
Please, Civilization VII development team, make this at least an option.
Keep in mind this would purely be for aesthetics and planning, the techs would be locked still
In my case, I was really requesting that the technology tree be able to function the same way it does in older Civilization games, with no technology being unlocked automatically by the game itself, and without the game forcing any technology in the technology tree to be completed automatically due to a change in era.
Yeah, I'd love to have again a unique long and fat tech tree!
This divided by Era tech tree always feel so thin. I always have the impression that the path you choose matters too little in the grand scheme of things... by the end of the Era you'll have everything researched anyway and at the begining everyone is leveled, no matter what had it prioritized on the former Era.
