After downloading the most recent update, I'm getting some weird clustering of resources in tiles that are very close together. I like having lots of resources, but not all on adjacent tiles. I have a settlement where I can't build buildings because all of the tiles around the city centre are resources. (It has a lot of factory resources, and I'm in the modern era.)
#Weird resource bunching after latest update

That photo is not actually my problem settlement. It is a different cluster of resources.
Yeah the resource distribution is a bit weird, it loves packing resource together with no space. Last game I played I had 8 cocoa in a zig zag line one after the other. I wasn't complaining since they were all treasure resources and helped me win but still seems really weird to all be bunched together.
What map settings? Balanced?
Idk if that’s so bad? Your settlement now is just a rural settlement focus with lots of resources.
I like the bunches of resources.
Being able to remove resources would be nice.
I’m not sure what you mean. I play with Continents & Islands maps.
There is a setting for map types, balanced or standard, balanced was really bugged and I think still is
Continents and islands doesn't have an option for balanced though, so this will be on standard
I have the same issues on standard start maps too
It's been a problem on every map type I play. I've done a few games and there have been several spots on the map where there's like 7-10 resources bunched up. It's great in some ways but annoying in others when there's less resources elsewhere on the map
I think the bunched up resources happen in unsettled territory when I saw it
Maybe it‘s meant as an incentive to send settlers there?
