When we load into the modern age, we get railroads on tiles of road that aren't in a civ, which feels graphically weird and our of place. Maybe keep the default as roads until a railroad is developed.

@edgy basin can you confirm that the railroad tracks you see are actually Staatseisenbahn (the Prussia unique railroad tracks) ... hover over them and check the tooltip

Yes I understand, the reported issue on the 2k tracker mentions the issue happens even on maps that don't have Prussia and even before railroad tech, however
the signature feature of the reported issue is that the railroad track tiles in random spots on the map are labeled as being Staatseisenbahn (the name of the unique Prussia railroad track)
If you look on your map and see that the tiles are labeled Staatseisenbahn, then what you are observing is a known bug that is already on their radar.
If that's not the case then it may be a different bug, and should be reported via a Bug Report using the URL in #civ7-bug-reports-and-help
(Either way, it's a bug and the feedback forum is not the appropriate place to get the information back to the right team at Firaxis)
