#Catapults are too strong on melee

What is your opinion about the current catapults? I think they’re completely off.

They should be more like the ones in Civ 6. I really don’t see any sense in a catapult dealing massive melee damage, like taking out half the health of a horseman or swordsman unit. That just doesn’t feel right.

(They are extremely strong when defending against your attacks. When I attack them with horsemen, I can easily lose half of my health bar in a single melee combat)

what difficulty is this? yeah we could probably do with a screenshot of the combat preview, cuz I havent seen that

I’ll share a photo next time I play, but I don’t play very often because the game is really frustrating due to all the bugs it has.

But honestly, one catapult deals almost the same damage to me in melee as a swordsman.

While yes there are still annoying issues that should be fixed, a lot of the bugs have been fixed (in particular there were a lot of bug fixes packed into 1.2.0 patch). If you encounter any issues, you can post about them in #civ7-troubleshooting and we can discuss and figure out if it's a bug or maybe just a misunderstanding (also if you're playing on PC, we can recommend UI mods that improve a lot of the UI quality-of-life issues)
