Saw this listed as part of patch 1.1.0, and I really dislike this idea. Curious if others feel the same.

I want more ways to prevent cities from being converted, not the only protected city losing its protection. It’s frustrating how rapidly religious control fluctuates and how easy it is to do. I don’t enjoy having to spam missionaries all game and then keep micromanaging them. It makes the military victory path insanely frustrating to manage.

I think being able to convert holy cities is fine, but I also agree that there should be a way to defend your religion late in the age.

I wish holy cities were more special. Harder to convert maybe? Like you have to spend 3 charges of a foreign religion on rural/urban districts to change it. But the homeland religion, the original holy city, could change it back a lot easier. Or what if there were special bonuses to religion/missionaries you got based on how many holy cities you controlled?

This change in a vacuum feels kinda weird to me. With the state of religion it seems incredibly minor. Which is probably why they changed it, because it's the easiest thing to change about religion rn

I personally hate that it locks you out of relics which is I think what the fix is supposed to address
