As the title says, the game is lacking in a large number of sound effects that have been consistently helpful in older civ games. Here are the examples I can think of:
"MISSING" SOUND EFFECTS
- A sound effect when "The game is waiting on you" in multiplayer matches (already noted in Firaxis issue tracker, strangely unprioritized).
- A sound effect when your new turn begins (already suggested here in Discord, but I am adding it for completeness).
- A sound effect when one of your units is attacked.
- A sound effect when one of your units is killed.
- A sound effect when war is declared on you (or when you declare war) in multiplayer games.
- A sound effect when a city of yours is captured.
- A sound effect when a goody hut appears within sight range.
- A sound effect when you discover a natural wonder.
- A sound effect when another player finishes building a wonder.
- A sound effect when you complete a wonder in multiplayer (since the wonder completion cinematic doesn't trigger in multiplayer!).
- A sound effect when hostile barbarians (independent powers) are spotted near one of your cities.
- A sound effect when you disperse an independent power.
- A sound effect when your city destroys one of its own buildings in revolt.
- A sound effect when a commander gains enough experience for a promotion / when you confirm their promotions (I need to reconfirm this one).
Each individually is a minor gripe, but when totaled together I feel it becomes a significant part of poor multiplayer game-flow, the game's "unfinished" feeling, and also contributes to Civ7's problem of not presenting complete information to the player.
I play on PS5, for context.
