Frankly, the game feels like it is missing an era. The first age is absolutely good fun to play. Played it several times just because I liked it. The second age is interesting, but it is kind of an early rush for good colonies and then you can sit back. (The AI ought to be a bit more aggressive and also the 'crises' are underwhelming. I never felt remotely troubled.) The third age starts out quite boring. There are barely any choices to be made. Once you have gotten some research done, one is suddenly utterly spoiled for choice. The pacing seems off. On the flip side of things, I had some interesting wars. This didn't happen at all in late game civ5 and civ6, so I would call that a win. Still, does the AI know how to build and use planes? On balance, it was good fun and a lot more engaging all the way through to the end than civ6 which often was a boring job to finish. Military victory does feel a bit easy compared to the other ones. I was looking for an economic win, but that would have taken quite a bit of grinding, whereas the military victory, which got more or less forced on me by the AI declaring war, was an easy question of an atomic test. (The victory movies was total nonsense, by the way, perhaps some marine life died, but no nukes were ever used on humans.) On balance, I like it, but there is a lot of room for improvement!

Very nice congrats, There is an advanced options to make ages longer ( not sure if u have tried that ) , its what I'm doing, I'm expecting antiquity to last over 500 turns... still in progress ๐
Yea, I did that. ๐
Nice, Well, thanks for your feedback ๐
Try to ramp up difficulty a bit , I have a feeling AI will improve over time ๐ฎ
Immortal is one step before deity. Never liked deity much. The flat combat bonus to units causes outdated units to overperform quite badly and that takes some fun out of the game for me. Immortal is kind of the sweet spot for me. I do hope for better AI, eventually, but it is already noticeably better than it used to be.
In any case, I like your feedback ๐
Yeah, AI, does kinda of strange things at times
Play the level, that you like ๐
What combo of Leader/Civ did you use? Went thru the ages? ๐
Friedrich, oblique. Greeks first, Chola second and Prussia (obviously) last.
Very nice ๐
Greece and Prussia were thematic choices. I am a historian IRL with a strong focus on ancient times. So it was always going to be either the Romans or the Greeks. Chola was a tactical choice: the faction unit (ship with double attack & upgradeable movement) is just too good not to use in this era.
Over 500 turns? I set it to long for age length but seems done by like turn 150
Very nice Shepel ๐
Yeah, it might shorten a little bit, when i get some legacy reaches , but we'll see ๐
Long Age + Marathon? ;o
Oh yeah I haven't tried marathon, duh. Only on standard speed. Though I read that game speed didn't affect age length or something
