#AI settlement needs to be fixed

It's what humans also do. But placing a Settlement on the other side of the map just to forward settle the human player is not well balanced either. So the AI should be tweaked a bit
And the other annoying thing that needs to be fixed is the -20 relationship modifier when they forward settle you. Sometimes they settle really crappy cities right next to my capital, and I don't really care for it and want to remain friendly with the AI. but the -20 "Settled too close to another Civilization's capital" ruins the plan to remain friendly.
I think they acknowledged this in one of their streams and are working on it.
No it isn't what humans do. Humans place their cities to a good location with a lot of resources and also close so it can defend it !! if you put you're cities all far away from eachother then guess what its easy to lose one of them you can't focus all you're troops in different places
I think its the idea that you can decrease the relationship to declare a formal war. But there should be a option like causic bellic where you can declare war because of that
But why does the AI feel negative about the player when the AI forward settles the player? If the AI wants to decrease relations to declare war, they do that anyway
Its for the player easier if his relationship is negative then you can declare formal war but ia gree its a stupid mechanic i want to decide if i want to remain friendly towards an AI.. It should just give a causic belli or a option to declare a formal war for example if you ask the AI to not settle close to you and he refuses
To your point, I hate it when I meet a civ that spawned up north like Napoleon and he build his second city down to the south near my capital for Salt. There should be a penalty in happiness the further a town is away from the capital mainly in Antiquity. Once Exploration starts I understand we are conquering the new continent. But Antiquity, AI just building random towns on the map, sometimes in the rib of your nicely connected Empire is annoying. I hated loyalty so would not take that back, but there has to be some penalty and a way to sway the town to join your empire
What I meant is that AI mimics human behavior but does a bad job. We will have to see, but I think defending such a city is way easier due to the buy mechanic in towns. Hereby, units can be purchased idependently of the towns production.
