When you are at war and the AI gives a peace offer, not being able to leave the screen makes it very difficult to know what you are agreeing to. It can be difficult to remember which city is which, and it would be prudent to check if your allies are still at war with the enemy before accepting any terms.

Or at least have the cities they have/offer shift view to where it is on the map. I hate how the AI settles single hex islands and willingly hand those over.

You can decline an offer, check what cities they were offering an a map, start peace negotiations and demand city, that the were offering. They will agree if you suggest the same city. But this is a workaround and would be great to see what is offered.

in every game I played, if I decline a peace offer where the AI is willing to give me a city, and then give them the exact same offer on my turn (because I had to check the map for which city it was) they would decline
