#DO NOT USE MODS

I stopped and thought about it for a second and realized why. MODs can easily work on PC's but not on counsels that require special review or are blocked for security. MOD's would make cross play impossible.
It's fine to make mods only available for PC. Mods are the reason why CIV games stand the test of time.
Huh? Im using a mod and I havent had any issues
I think for me its just the WEmod app
you have a link
Yes 1 sec
All the mods on the forum are safe to use and shouldnt cause any issues (unless the mods broken)
This is the official current way of downloading mods until we have steam workshop support
Yup. Either that or Steam workshop for me (as it’s more convenient).
Are you using a mod that adds dlls or replaces some of the binaries? These kinds of mods are dangerous without the proper support and oversight since they can harbor malware.
I honestly just recommend only using mods from the forum
If someones not putting their mod on the forum im not downloading it anyway
Civ is a PC game, always has been. I have no problem with it being rolled out to Console because the pencil pushers see $$$ - but don't penalise your hardcore fanbase - the game is nothing without the fans. So, why, when I am playing a single player PC game with mods do I get penalise? My units become ghosts and I get logged out and taken to the 2k cheating website - It's a SINGLE PLAYER GAME FFS!
THIS NEEDS SORTING
You dont get penalised?
Ive been downloading and using mods off the forum since release, the devs openly support it?
They even have a mod section in-game which shows all the mods you are currently using
Ya they need to get rid of Denuvo
My understanding is that things like Denuvo are only present for the first month or so after a game's launch. It's to delay the inevitable piracy, and once a game's been cracked it generally is removed
Usually it is kept because it has other features than just that. They will usually sell these things as a package deal. There are better ways to obfuscate the code for the game and make it less pirate-able and maintain security for the customer.
Ah
I noticed they have not unlocked the workshop yet. What's going on with that?
Just so you know wemod is a cheat system i would not use it
Yes we know. It works for civ 6 just fine
How is using WeMod in a single player game cheating - you are only cheating yourself. Where does Modding end and cheating begin?
Me i dont care if someone uses WeMod or the like in SP MP is a lot different, Anyways why the game threw that message is because WeMod is a GUI interface for cheats based off of Cheat Engine and Denuvo flagged its hooks/injection as malicious. As to why Denuvo sees Cheat Engine hooks as malicious i cant say that here and wouldn't even if i could.
They wont want people loading into the game and using it for MP
Which happened in Civ 6 pretty frequently
