#[Building placement tooltip] Tell why can't build on certain tile
17 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I’m running into this issue myself as well 😢
Tooltips are a must, nit just a nice to have
Yeah, need a tooltip for that.
@wanton arch like all new buildings basically, must be built by buildings / districts / quarters? That’s really cool that I never knew, but I’m still confused why OP couldn’t place one by the red circle, when it seems like both tiles are districts? (They look like urban tiles, not rural)
I agree with the tooltip idea, but read that building text. It says that you to build only on a tile that has a natural happiness yield. The one you have only has science.
@ripe wyvern ur misreading the image, the science yield on the left is highlighted in green, meaning it’s valid
He’s curious why he can’t place it on the red, on the right, where there is indeed happiness yield
Also, the science is what he gains, not what’s naturally yielded
Thanks! Obviously confused by the yields.
@arctic lava
I think I found it out,
I just read the civpedia, and it says “unique improvements are built through the queue, on top regular improvements
So I think the lands needs to be improved, then you can build a unique improvement on it
I hope the DEV team updates the UI to tell people this 😭
whaaaaaaat?
Damn, thanks for the finding. Would have never guessed.
Whats awesome about unique improvements though, is that you still get to keep ur bonuses, so like if u have a granary
And build a unique improvement on a farm, u still get the +1, as if it was still a farm
Also the icon is different
Notice how the step pyramid icon in ur screenshot is a diamond, not a circle like normal buildings
This is also how u can tell, as per a thread I found in this discord 😭
UI team & Civpedia team need to do a better job on teaching us this lol
