Game takes too long to load on PC

I was hoping that civ 7 would improve the map and game loading times, but it can still take 30-60 seconds for a game to load up. This makes it particularly annoying when playing multiplayer where the loading time of the game will often be longer than the amount of time I spend taking my turn.

It's possible it's faster, but it still takes too long. I would expect it to not take more than 15 seconds.

Imo you are playing a game for hours, it's more important to have good map gen / civ placement than load 30s quicker

When I'm doing multiplayer with my friends I'm not playing each turn for hours. Especially during my work breaks. I'm referring to loading a game, not starting a new one.

Mine starts an entire game in about 10 seconds? Do you have a SSD? Wich is way better than civ 6. (But I only know modded load times there xD)

Mine (NVMe SSD, 7800x3d).

Boots to menu in about 6 seconds, in game about 25 later. Probably could get into game a bit faster by turning down asset quality.

Yeah. SSD pcie 3 I believe. 7800X3D rtx 4070 super. Bought it back then in full white for about 2k no case.

The video posted looks like a handheld UI, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a CPU limit

It's steam link. It's running on a computer and just streaming the image to the phone for the recording.

If you’re booting the game off an SSD, it could be your system, do you happen to know what CPU you have? And when you look at the drive the games installed to in explorer or task manager, does it say HDD or SSD?

It loads pretty dang quick for me
