I run a very small game that offers a subscription to the users at 3$/month.

For every subscription - i lose 0.54 for the US and 0.58 for the non-US customers.

On top of this I lose 5$ as payment fees for every 100$ payout .

So all and all for every 100$ of revenue i lose over 25$ that's like 25 percent in payment fees. 🥲🥲🥲

Any possibilities this can be reduced?

To potentially reduce the payment fees you are experiencing with Dodo Payments, consider the following strategies:

  1. Negotiate Fees: Contact Dodo Payments to discuss your current fee structure. Sometimes, payment processors are willing to negotiate fees, especially if you have a consistent volume of transactions or if your business is growing.

  2. Increase Payout Threshold: Since there is a $5 fee for payouts under $1000, consider increasing the threshold for payouts. This way, you can accumulate more funds before initiating a payout, reducing the frequency of the $5 fee.

  3. Explore Alternative Payment Processors: Research and compare other payment processors to see if they offer lower fees for your specific business model. Some processors might have more favorable rates for small businesses or subscription-based services.

  4. Optimize Subscription Pricing: Evaluate your subscription pricing model to see if there is room to adjust the price slightly to offset the fees. Even a small increase could help cover the transaction costs.

  5. Bundle Payments: If possible, try to bundle multiple transactions into a single payout to minimize the number of times you incur the payout fee.

  6. Currency Considerations: If you are dealing with international transactions, consider the impact of currency conversion fees and explore options that might offer better exchange rates or lower conversion costs.

By implementing one or more of these strategies, you may be able to reduce the overall payment fees and improve your revenue retention.

We don't charge payout fees above 1000$

You can choose to not get payout until you reach that threshold to avoid payout fees

Since we have fixed fees of 40 cents, for smaller transactions the percentage would be higher. To reduce the percentage the size of the payment can be increased

Additionally we are working on getting the fixed fees reduced as well

Is there a way I can do yearly subscriptions and change the autopay frequency from dodo's side to a year?
