i can just throw freekit after freekit at my problems until they're gone
And the free kits don't really have downsides. In Arc the free kits come with very limited ammo and heals (which are hard to find) and don't have a safe slot. None of that here.

True yeah, the main problem is the lack of threat of losing good vault loot
it's enough to get by, which almost feels like too much
With the free ammo box and AI regularly dropping ammo, I never felt I had ammo trouble. And the white heal and shield kits are so common, if you actually bother to loot you should be fine for anything short of high intensity pvp
free sponsor kits feel like they're good for 1-2 UESC encounters, but not enough for an encounter against another runner, which I think is a perfect sweet spot
I could see them probably adding a stash value cap to bringing the free sponsored kits. And I doubt they'll let you take them into cryo vault once that launches

Yeah the skill gap is brutal you gotta be good at aiming because you can kinda laser onto heads in this game.

I have a question about implants right now, actually.
Do implants that share the same name and rarity have the same stat buffs and/or debuffs and is the other effect randomized?
For example, Nimble Fingers V1. I have two in my vault right now and they both buff Loot Speed. They have different effects though. One has Dr. Killjoy and the other has Haptic Feedback.
I love the Repeater with reload on kill mods.

I think we’re supposed to use LMGs cause of the high mag size to get the most out of Search and Destroy, but they feel a little slow and clunky to me. I wanna find an AR that has a high mag size.
I've honestly been running the bully smg for him and it works out real good. But I agree he's definitely made for Either LMG or SMG primary and a westar double as the second.
Though I honestly find myself using his payload for bot swarms and bosses then actual pvp fights, just because it feels inconsistent sometimes. I also really wish we could fire pistols from behind sheild tbf.
I feel like if they added a super high rof lmg with horrible hip fire accuracy it'd be perfect for him
Honestly, if you're gonna be fighting lots of UESC you're going to really enjoy a V66 lookout with the chip that gives ammo back when killing an enemy, blue is good enough. You can legit fight them forever so it's good for taking out stuff like the Wardens and commanders without straining your resources too much.
I'll absolutely give that a try

Shotgun really is a must if you want to close the distance quickly and capitalize on it.
LMG with shield really is a must you have it, helps your staying power.

Ive been trying to play aggressive with Destroyer but I just simply don't have the game sense yet of when it's best to push the advantage
I was going against some more challenging UESC and I had the volley burst and popped S&D, 2/3 burst is all it took to send a rocket and the rocket usually just finished the bot off. The volley actually felt really good, couple burst and move onto the next bot while the rocket goes and kills it.
Had a pvp fight where I super sprinted all the way around a building to flank and it felt very nice, Destroyer is so fun.
Boost with shotgun is mean, especially since you can go directly into it from shield. There's an argument to be made for melee with it with the core that boosts melee damage immediately after a boost(I surprised an assassin yesterday in his smoke with it). But yeah, agility and Heat are top stats for destroyer. Though Heat and tac energy could be worth as well.

what are you guys usually building for Vandal? I always aim for agility, heat capacity and fall resistance for implants, but I still haven't found my personal pref of guns for instance
That is my understanding, yes.
The Rarity + Name determines the stat array, and then an additional effect is added separately
The implant ability that makes your slide take no heat if you do it in water is particularly powerful with Vandal

For example, the recovery rate of 10 is less effective than if there were 40
It 20 to the stat itsself. Check the CyAc upgrades for heat, when its % they use actual "+20% heat reduction rate" for the stat

All implants buff (or debuff) specific stats, and they all have an extra effect. I’m not for certain I’ve came across all of the effects that’s out there hence why I asked out of pure curiosity. It makes more sense that it’s a core rather than an implant, but I still wanted to ask.

What the heck are biostrip salvage and where do I find it?
Find insurrection (increased dmg against uesc) or bounty hunter (gain credits on uesc elims) and place it on the v11 punch pistol. Keep a look out for the suppresion dampener to put on it as well and you can breeze through PvE, while still being an okay but not amazing gun against players
If you guys like thief, and more specifically using your drone for recon. I would seriously recommend trying to get the Hideout and Partner in Crime cores. Hideout lets you be invis while piloting the drone and partner in crime lets the drone send out recon style pulses when you aren’t piloting it. It gives great recon and stealth options. I’ve personally used hideout on multiple solo extractions to sit in the extraction while invis to avoid being camped out

A disassemble feature would be AMAZING in the vault/in game inventory would be sick. that way you can grab attachments off of a gun you don’t want to have taking up inventory space quickly

Run a team full of thieves two of them ride the drone across map to the vent slurp up all the loot and duo fight bots to clear faster.

No benefit. Running the same ammo type on both weapons limits you.
You compete for the same ammo pool and burn through it faster. Using different ammo types gives you flexibility and keeps you fighting when one weapon runs dry.
However, some combos naturally share ammo—for example a Longshot and WSTR both use MIPS—so in those cases you just manage the same pool.

The basic light LMG is good, If you want something that requires a little more accuracy, V11 Punch.

Yeah, the V11 Punch is one of the best guns in the game, affordable, powerful, and doesn't take up a ton of space!
The basic light ammo pistol I'm not certain on, but I believe it is pretty good

V11 Punch has extremely high DPS, I took down a runner in 4 shots
You can even fire charge shots and those deal even more damage
It's also only 4 squares of inventory space, and super easy to find

It's semi auto so it's dependent on how fast you can hit the button I guess
clicking as fast as i can there seems to be a hard limit
do the stat upgrades from factions take effect when you buy them or when their maxed out, the stat itself isnt changing in the menu (sguchi for example adding +30 tactical recovery (totaling 35), but after buying the first rank my stat is still 5
found the issue, V75 scar states 120rpm when it's closer to 600. I think v11 punch is closer to 120rpm. I think they flipped it by accident

- I’ve shot someone 4 times and not downed them
The magnum either dunks or feels like a pee shooter, it's weird and it feels inconsistent.
I prefer the Punch 100%

More thief tips, if you enjoy the x ray visor in combat, Keen eye and case the joint cores will extend the duration and give it longer range for gun fights

I noticed a lot of people are reading the implants incorrectly. When you hover over an implant in your vault its not showing just the stats it gives you. Its showing a comparison of what will happen if you install that implant over the one in the current slot. The negative modifiers showing are just saying that you'll lose that benefit when you swap implants. Its not saying the new implant will weaken that stat.
No implants lower any stats you have.

Lockboxes would be my first guess, those things can sometimes contain 5 cores in 1 box
Otherwise there might be some cabinets or storages that have 1 core in them

There are also core containers in ai unlink and other POIs, they look like square containers attached to walls. This won't garuntee your shells specific core but it's a way to farm some.

i think it's backpack + shield + quality of guns based. highest rarity is the quality of server you get. i'm only basing this on the fact that when i load in with purple guns i get smoked instantly in pvp
so i've been intentionally removing mods from any "good" guns to not get into high level lobbies lol

as far as i can tell from getting hit by one of those tripwires that are sometimes at POIs from UESC is that one the "hack" is complete your ability cooldowns are paused and wont resume until the hack clears by itself or a OS Debug is used. it had a 2:30 timer on me once the hack completed
oh you know what that makes sense i got hacked yesterday by the same thing and my ability was locked for a while
so i guess it would turn off robot shields and make it so they cant make the clones

How so?
Faction milestones (ones at the bottom of the tree, unlocked every 6 points spent) unlock starting items for rook - you can start with green shield, green weapon, green health/shield packs and even a blue backpack really far into the upgrades.

There are Rook specific rewards, beside regular ones. For example MIDA has 2 lines:

its almost entirely positioning
you just have to isolate them from each other
down 1 by surprise, one will try res and one will chase, loop the guy chasing and kill the guy reviving, then u have turned a 1v3 into a 1v1 for free
the only teams you can't 1v3 are teams at your own skill level, but even then better players will often see a rook and get greedy a lot of the times, which lets you claymore bait or shotgun them a lot easier
claymore has been one of the best things to use against very aggressive players
especially in the red lit hallways 🥰

From my experience, the boost was way bigger when using a blue bag compared to a green/basic. it definitely count the total number of slots and not the % filled of your bag 👍

the xray vision is pretty unique
it does highlight enemies in a very useful way, however the range is the same as for highlighting lootboxes so dont expect to spot ppl from afar
also, i noticed on other thiefs that it creates a pretty visible ray of light that is visible for other runners, so dont use it too much in the open unless you have a real avantage on someone and want to track him after losing him for example
also the color on ppl you scan works the same as for lootboxes, if they are purple the best item they have on them is a purple.. etc

i would say around 20 meters, however i once had a purple mod that extends the range quite a lot, adding around 15meters of range to it

depends on the destroyer's agility. Vandal's prime maxes out your agility, weapon handling and heat to 100

You don't get stats from things other than implants, which everyone can use so check base stats and see who is the best at things.
With implants I primarily focus the implant stats themselves, the riders are just there for finer tuning on gameplay imo

Yeah this is kind of a busted loadout for how cheap it is. V11 might be the best gun in the game relative to its availability and cost

Think it's because not everything has a head. Like those drones that fly overhead and put a status effect on you. Their weak spot is the glowy bit on the bottom which is also a precision hit.
maybe it could have been worded as a critial hit, or a weak spot shot
i also thought precision shot was aiming down sights

I think vs runners your precision multiplier and your aim matter more than anything
Pretty much every weapon is well balanced aside from shotguns and snipers
But I do feel like I've had good success vs runners with LMG, SMG, and precision weapons more than AR
I tried the shotgun everyone says is OP and shot a guy from 10ft away and he melted me with SMG before I could fire again, but I think my aim was more on body maybe if I'd hit the head
Volt seems to be the ammo of guns with lots of gimmicks. Rounds that seek, charging, different fire modes
Only really the lmgs get a shield, and that requires you to find one!
I use volt as secondary always because the ammo lasts so long and can recharge
Oh yeah, i rarely go through more than 3 volt batteries
I've noticed too volt rechargeable from any movement even crouch walking, even though the tooltip says sprinting
Volt is the king of ammo preservation. I grab 2 stacks and that's more than enough. Rare for me to burn through even 3 clips.
Volt goes hard. V11 is $50, the ammo is borderline free wherever bots hang out, and it's fairly effective against basically anything you can fight
Also the ammo backpack is really good with volt weapons
One thing that would be pretty neat with destroyer is if you have purple shields your tac ability with shield is also purple. Gold shields gold tactical etc just more info on what color shield that destroyer has.
Overall it just seems like volt weapons are superior to the other types. Even the volt shotty is nuts
Why does some implants destroy your heat, yet don't say they do that in their description?
Like I put in Sprint Kit on Implant 1, it makes no mention of killing your heat...but it takes -45 off my heat capacity.
Its compared to your current stats, isn't it?
Like you have an item that gives you more heat and swapping it with that implant would remove the bonus from that item

what's runners' opinion on railguns? they any good? seem a bit redundant when you have powerful sniper rifles
I run them bc I keep getting them for free and it’s a free kill with headshots

Railguns kinda meh, they need more dmg for how long they take to spin up...I feel Blue + Headshot should be 1 tap, green and white should be 1 tap Bodyshot...otherwise, they kinda meh.
Cuz you're so vulnerable while spinning, and having to swap after a shot...takes time, you still vulnerable.

They're adding a ranked mode? Oof.
It's pretty good if you can aim well, but the small magazine size makes it a bit unreliable compared to other guns. It can kill most UESC in a few headshots, but I haven't had the chance to try it on runners yet. I personally wouldn't run it as I mostly run solos and all my fights are usually in buildings. They drop pretty frequently in the outpost armouries, especially in dormitories. Definitely a solid PvE gun if you can get an attachment to increase the mag size.

Personally been using the bully SMG a lot as it's cheap and the recoil is simple, but good guns are probably different for team games as solos is just whoever shoots who first
Depends how much money you have and if you have a team, could be more viable with extra people to back you up while you're reloading
The cash flow core is a MUST for the Data Card missions (it pings a nearby data card everytime you open an unlooted container)

I can still put in good work with the Overrun in short bursts but it eats through ammo (backpack and magazine both) really quickly
And even modded up it's still less effective than just running the stock V11

Volt Thrower is effective up close, and I think that and the Precision Volt weapon are really good on the AI...so is Punch, all Volt just rocks against UESC.
Not much a fun of the Volt AR though...doesnt seem too great, I guess if you're further away it's not bad...but the Precision one just feels better, and it actually does ok in PVP.

Assassin shell is fun, highly recommend for solo runs especially if you want to work on contracts in those. Just makes it easier to get around the map and avoid UESC, escape or ambush people.
Destoryer is fun but I found it a bit of a pain in solo cause you're basically forced to PvE.

does hipfire being -1.29 and ads being 1.39 mean that my hipfire is more accurate? or are they on different scales
As a rule in Bungie games, ADS is always more accurate than hipfire.
I'd argue that, and say anything with a range under 30m is better hipfired. 😄
In my extensive experience in Destiny 2, and playing on controller/console, I find ADS significantly more effective at all but point-blank range (shotguns). I use hipfire aiming from the hip to quickly move my reticle then ADS plus Aim Assist, reticle friction and bullet magnetism helps me out a lot. But tbh most of my experience comes from Destiny 2 where hipfire is absolute cheeks - I don't have experience hipfiring in Marathon much yet.
I'm usually using precise weapons and going for headshots
In close range encounters when I'm using an automatic weapon I ADS and use crouch-spamming to get an upper hand - my controller has back paddles which makes it easy.

there's no crafting per se (that I've found), but you can trade certain loot items in faction shops for items so that's kind of like crafting
and you can swap attachments on and off guns
go to the armory tab in the gear menu
there's a different tab for each faction's shop
and as you gain rep with factions they sell you better stuff, and give you better daily freebies

No its not its been at 70k every day since the server slam day 1 except for one day and it was only slightly lower. Today was almost 70k for the entire afternoon

I would think maybe the one that let's you turn on an energy shield? Seems like it could be useful when using Search and Destroy - you need to sustain damage on someone so the rockets fire. Seems like a situation you would likely be aggressive in and in turn, probably taking return fire. Keep yourself up to hopefully get rockets to trigger.
Not sure how good it is yet but I think signal jammer one could potentially be good all around too.
And that's just not true, it peaked 70kish the first few days, nowadays it barely breaks 60k.

Noticed melee is inconsistent? 110 melee and didn't one shot a white shields with right click. Curious if range matters. Been doing knife builds and maybe its not always guaranteed max dmg? That hit should have hit for 220
