yeah when starting a match on Dire Marsh it is best practice to check close spawns (or at least watch for spawn pushes) for the first bit of the game. You truly do not have enough time to stand around and do nothing since there are so many potential team spawns that can all basically see each other.

The way the maps are designed you're never really that far from cover and can immediately jump behind something in a moment's notice. That's never been an issue for me.

It's Dire Marsh. You need to expect combat in the first minute. Me and my friends are always rushing the nearest spawn to the left or right of us. Less people in lobby, less chances of getting ambushed/third partied

You just genuinely can't waste time on that map. You either need to rush a team or get in a favorable position

Not trying to flame you or anything, but you spent good 20-25 seconds pretty much in spawn, not moving anywhere. It's enough for a team that know what they are doing to get to you, and seeing that you have a sniper, you had no chances

What I mean by this is that you're not thinking enough about what to do when you get into a fight. Running away is more than just sprinting away from the enemy. You have to be more cautious about positioning. Eventually when you fix the little things then playing a fight is just muscle memory.
