I could see them adding cosmetic rewards to out-of-date prio contract completion to give a non-lore reward for new players going back and completing them. Probably that plus faction xp equivalent to generic faction contracts would make people going back and finishing old quests not feel as much like they're wasting their time.

That said: it's basically inevitable that some prio quests will eventually be at least temporarily unavailable, I think. I have to assume at some point down the line they'll rotate perimeter, dire marsh, or outpost out for a new map entirely and even if old prio contracts are technically available there may be seasons where their maps aren't.

I hope it ends up as a rotating system rather than old content being permanently gone.

we normally end up just forcing pvp in that state which is risky af with how the meta is with nade spams, so a way to continue grinding sec clearance without forcing pvp after first spawn is helpful

That's the gist of it right? Building up the vault again, getting good fights that's not against an overly geared team or player. Redoing the quests just gives you a goal for each run. Gives you a plan to go after. Instead of, "Welp, let's see who we can kill", it's more, "Alright I gotta hit this place and find this thing then go do this other thing". And with redoing them it becomes, "Oh I remember this one and I've spawned close? Fuck yea! Let's get this done!"

The issue is when we are under 8-9k players you can REALLY feel the skill compression and it just stops being playable for most people

My boys and I kick ass on Outpost because of this change, we just kill 2 squads easily then loot the whole map. I feel bad for the other guys

It's an extraction shooter, and one that's faithful to how extraction shooters should be, it's not for everyone and is already in a very niche market. Hell, no one would even be giving player numbers or popularity a first glance, let alone a second, if Arc Raiders didn't happen. Arc popped off because it's an anomaly in its own right. Even then, it's lost over 3/4's of its playerbase since its launch. These games don't attract a lot of people, they're intimidating, overwhelming, brutal, mean, give no fucks about your progress, and won't hold your hand. But those are the very reasons most extraction shooter players love this genre. You won't find the same excitement, adrenaline dump, or dopamine hit that you get from a good gun fight, finding that super rare loot, killing that overly geared runner/player, or even having your first couple successful exfils in any other game.

Well, that was disappointing. Doing the Truth/Lies part where you gotta get creds off a commander. I do it solo, with a free kit.... and the creds don't spawn.

Perfectly sneaking around, got enough ammo for the big fight and just- nothing.
